Abstract

This study aims to develop a Problem Based Learning (PBL)-based Civic Education learning module that can improve students’ learning motivation and responsibility at SD Negeri Transad. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The research subjects were fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Transad, with data collection instruments including expert validation questionnaires, learning motivation questionnaires, and student responsibility observations. The results showed that the PBL-based module developed was categorized as “highly feasible” based on assessments from material experts and media experts. Field trials also indicated that the use of the module could significantly enhance students’ learning motivation and foster a sense of responsibility in the learning process. In conclusion, the PBL-based learning module is feasible to be used as Civic Education teaching material in elementary schools as it can foster active, responsible, and motivated students.   Keywords: Civic Education, elementary school, learning motivation, learning module, Problem Based Learning, responsibility

Abstract

This study aims to develop an audio-visual Biorama (Biology Rhythm) learning medium on ecosystem material to improve the interest and learning outcomes of 10th grade high school students. The Biorama Media combines video visualization with educational songs as a means of delivering material. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Expert validation results indicate that the media is highly suitable for use. The implementation of the Biorama media showed a significant improvement in students' learning outcomes, increasing from 17.8% (pretest) to 89.2% (posttest), while students' learning interest reached 85.4%, which falls into the high category. These findings indicate that the Biorama media is effective in enhancing students' interest and learning outcomes and can serve as an alternative educational media that is engaging, contextual, and practical.   Keywords: Learning outcomes, Ecosystem material, Biorama media, Learning interest

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between parental role and digital literacy skills and the reading interest of elementary school students in Lubuk Linggau City, both partially and simultaneously. The method used in this study was a quantitative approach with a correlational design and a questionnaire as the research instrument. The results showed that parental role had a value (t-count = 5.018), while hypothesis testing showed that digital literacy skills had a value (t-count = 5.047). The results for the multiple effects obtained a value of F-count > F-table (64.517 > 3.04). The conclusion of this study indicates that parental role and digital literacy skills simultaneously positively affect the reading interest of elementary school students in Lubuk Linggau City.   Keywords: Digital Literacy Skills, Reading Interest, Parental Role

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of an ecoprint-based art learning approach to improving creative thinking skills in early childhood. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR), based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of three cycles: pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The results showed a significant increase in children's creativity indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The classical average for the indicators in the pre-cycle activities was only 20.46%. In cycle I, it increased to 47.73%, and in cycle II, it increased again to 86.36%. The conclusion is that an ecoprint-based art learning approach can enhance creative thinking in early childhood.   Keywords: Early Childhood, Creative Thinking, Ecoprint, Art Learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of using a video tutorial on creating snack bouquets on the vocational skills of 10th-grade deaf students at Jember State Special Needs School. The method used by the researchers in this study was a quantitative experiment, a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of four students. Data were processed using nonparametric statistical methods, using the sign-and-sign test. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the video tutorial on making snack bouquets has a positive effect on improving the vocational skills of 10th-grade deaf students at Jember State Special Needs School. This media offers a visual approach tailored to students' needs, facilitating an understanding of instructions without relying on verbal communication, and encourages students to learn independently. This research demonstrates the importance of implementing adaptive learning media, particularly in supporting inclusive education for students with special needs.   Keywords: Video Tutorial Media, Vocational Skills, Students with Deafness

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of animated video media on tooth brushing skills in 12th-grade children with moderate intellectual disabilities at SLB-C TPA Jember. This study employed a Single-Subject Research (SSR) method with an A-B design. The results showed that the use of animated video media can improve tooth brushing skills in children with moderate intellectual disabilities. In conclusion, animated video media is an effective learning aid for improving toothbrushing skills in children with moderate intellectual disabilities. It is hoped that this will provide an opportunity for further research on the application of animated video media in other aspects of daily life for children with intellectual disabilities.   Keywords: Children with Moderate Intellectual Disabilities, Tooth Brushing Skills, Animated Video

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Tracing the Dots technique on the vowel writing ability of second-grade students with moderate intellectual disabilities at the BCD YPAC Jember Special Needs School. The method used was a quantitative one-group pretest-posttest design. The results showed that the calculated Z value (4.91) was greater than Zα (1.645); thus, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This means that the application of the Tracing the Dots technique has a significant influence on the vowel writing ability of second-grade students with moderate intellectual disabilities at the BCD YPAC Jember Special Needs School. The conclusion is that the Tracing the Dots technique is efficacious in improving vowel writing ability in children with moderate intellectual disabilities. Therefore, this technique can be used as an alternative writing learning strategy for teachers in special needs schools.   Keywords: Intellectual Disability, Vowel Writing, Tracing the Dots Technique

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of using flashcards on self-care skills, specifically tooth brushing, in children with intellectual disabilities. Flashcards, which demonstrate the sequence of steps in tooth brushing, are expected to help children with intellectual disabilities understand and remember the process more easily. This study used a Single Subject Research (SSR) method with an AB design, involving observation and measurement of subjects' abilities before and after the application of flashcards, using percentage calculations. The results showed a positive trend and change in levels with 0% overlap, indicating that the use of flashcards can improve children's ability to brush their teeth independently, with significant improvement from the baseline to the intervention phase. The conclusion is that flashcards have a positive effect on improving self-care skills in tooth brushing among children with moderate intellectual disabilities, and recommendations are provided for further development of visual learning media in special education.   Keywords: Intellectual Disability, Flashcards, Tooth Brushing

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the teaching and learning process at Indonesian Schools (SILN), focusing on the challenges faced in preserving Indonesian cultural heritage amidst the social, cultural, and linguistic diversity of students from diverse backgrounds. The research method used here is qualitative, based on a case study approach, and employs thematic analysis to analyze the collected data. The research team conducted in-depth interviews with school administrators, faculty, and students from Indonesian Schools in Kota Kinabalu (SIKK), Kuala Lumpur (SIKL), and Singapore (SIS) to gather information about the curriculum and pedagogy at SILN. Education at Indonesian schools abroad must be integrated with the teaching of Indonesian culture and the learning of the Indonesian language, which directly contributes to the formation of national character. The study findings are anticipated to provide theoretical contributions to the development of multicultural education and Indonesian language teaching abroad, as well as practical benefits for SILN administrators and teachers in developing more effective and inclusive teaching methods, thereby enabling education at SILN to optimally maintain and introduce Indonesian culture to students living abroad.   Keywords: Global Diversity, Multicultural Education, Teaching and Learning Process, Indonesian Schools Abroad
