Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Ushuluddin (p-ISSN: 1412-5188 / e-ISSN: 2549-3752) is open access and peer-reviewed journal of Islamic Studies published by the Ushuluddin Faculty of UIN Antasari Banjarmasin. This article discusses about rationalism epistemology by Rene Descartes—modern philosopher—and his relevance to the Qur`anic exegesis. A study about epistemology is the perspective which is urgent in developing science in the future. The meaning of epistemology is the science methodology to express the rasionalism by Rene Descartes from the source, methods, and validity. This study found that the sources of rationalism by Rene Descartes is rationality; the methods of rasionalism is doubtful, intuition and deduction; the validity is measured by coherence theory. The result of this study has relevance to the Qur`an exegesis. The relevance is in the rationality, or in Qur`anic exegesis it is called tafsīr bi al-ra`yī or tafsīr bi al-‘aqlī. This interpreting isn’t only answer the issue which is up to date, but also as a new way in approaching the Qur`an through modern social sciences, like hermeneutica, stilistica, antropology, sosio-linguistic, and fenomenology.

Religious plurality is condition that no rejected by human. One thing that need is haow respond plurality that. So far recorded attitude that used by adherents religion in respond other religions in between exclusivism, inclusivism, and plurality. Exclusivism that known which claim absolute truth looked at no corresponding by current condition, thereby also which inclusivism that although no claim ownership absolute but tend see other religions as shadows from one religion, based weakness that owned by two attitude. Mode plurality appear as attitude that looked at corresponding for respond religious plurality. Like that there in village Kapul districts Halong regency Balangan. In this village there various kind of religion like religion of Islam, Kreisten Katolik, Hindu, Budha, and local religion.This research aim for known religion pluraly according to view religion figures Dayak in village Kapul districs Halong regency Balangan. This research is research qualitative by approach sociology use theory charismatic Max Weber. As for method this research is methd observation, directly plunge to field in Village Kapul districs Halong regency Balangan, interview, and documentation.This reaserch concluded that influence charismatic religions figures in Dayak religion when lead ritual event or in life daily has give harmonios life for people Dayak in districs Halong regency Balangan. So religion plurality in this village no make adherents religion Dayak other religion as people that intolerance.

This article discusses on contextualist understanding about sunnah or hadith. One of the contemporary Muslim thinker who is studied by muslim scholars is Muḥammad Syaḥrūr. According to Syaḥrūr, the sunnah was the initial ijtihad of Muhammad to overcome the problems that existed at that time, so it must be dynamic. Among the interesting thoughts of Syaḥrūr is his division of the concept of Muhammad's obedience and position. There are two forms of obedience to Muhammad: obedience that is not directly related to Allah (al-thā'ah al-munfashilah) and directly related to Allah (al-thā'ah al-muttashilah). In examining the hadith of the Prophet, Syaḥrūr did not understand in a textuality, but he studied the position of Muhammad when the hadith was spoken. He divided the position of Muhammad into three poins; as human beings, the Prophet, and the Apostle. The Hadith or Sunna will be universally applicable when Muhammad is based as an Apostle. Syaḥrūr's understanding of a hadith is very humanity because he is not directed to sanad studies, but rather to matan hadith.

Artikel ini memberikan deskripsi mengenai penggunaan pendekatan cultural studies dalam penelitian agama. Di sini dikemukakan secara umum mengenai definisi, tujuan, karakteristik dan metode cultural studies. Penelitian agama dapat memanfaatkan beberapa metode cultural studies, di antaranya etnografi, semiotika, analisis wacana, genealogi, dekonstruksi, studi kasus, grounded theory dan lainnya. Dalam studi kitab suci dapat juga diterapkan beberapa pembacaan cultural studies seperti (1) pembacaan strukturalisme, (2) pembacaan postrukturalisme, (3) pembacaan semiotika, (4) pembacaan fetisisme, dan (5) pembacaan dekonstruktif. Penggunaan cultural studies dalam penelitian agama dapat menimbulkan problem bahkan penolakan jika hasilnya merugikan agama. Untuk menghindari efek negatif atau mudarat yang mungkin ditimbulkannya dalam studi agama, pendekatan ini perlu dikendalikan dan digunakan secara hati-hati untuk meminimalisir efek merusaknya dan memanfaatkan efek-efek dinamis, produktivitas dan rekonstruktifnya untuk memperkaya telaah agama.

This article aims to describe the methods used by Harald Motzki in exploring the authenticity of the hadith. Since the 19th century scientifically, orientalists began to study the authenticity of hadith as a source of Islamic teachings, skeptical attitude of some orientalists get challenges from Muslim thinkers and some other orientalis. For Motzki, the two camps have not answered the substance of the question of authenticity of the hadith itself, he also uses certain methods in answering this. This article is a library of research with qualitative data collection and normative-theological approach of analyzing the truth of hadith which can be proven empirically and experimentally. The results show that, Motzki managed to prove authentic Hadith of the Prophet since the first century. Using Musannaf 'Abd al-Razzaq as the sample and the theory of dating and isnad cum matn analysis, he undermines the theories of his predecessor's hadith skepticism.

Al-Quran is a text that is free to be interpreted by anyone from its readers. As a dead text (unable to speak alone) allows itself to be interpreted according to the will of the interpreter. It is this background that gives rise to a variety of Koranic interpretations. However, it then also gives rise to forms of interpretation that come out of the ruling interpretation of the Koran, which later became known as deviant interpretations. Through research studies of Library, this paper will reveal forms of misinterpretation and negative effects for Muslims. This deviation of interpretation has extended to various modes of interpretation itself, such as being included in historical interpretations, theological opinions, Sufi interpretations, linguistic interpretations, scientific interpretations, even modern interpretations. These deviations have a devastating negative effect, such as assuming Islamic teachings are not authentic, mixing Islam with non-Muslims, misunderstanding the content of the Koran, and degrading salaf scholars.

This article tries to enlighten and analyze the concept of ta'wil of Ibn 'Arabi on the verses of the Holy Qur-an. In order to understand the Holy Qur-an, Sufis used a method the-so-called Ta'wil.Ta'wil Sufis for in the name of the Holy Qur-ann is based on the belief that the Qur-an contains two sides, zahir (is the world of bodies whereas batin is the world of souls) and inner/inward/hidden. This dichotomy also becomes the basis for ta'wil of Ibn ‘Arabi on the verses of the Holy Qur-an. He called it the term Al-‘Ibarah and Al-Isharah, essentially this term has similarities with zahir and batin. The semantic domain of the Qur-an iszahir Al-Ibarahkalam Allah (S.W.T.). In Ibn ‘Arabi's perspective there are two kinds of kalam, first when which does not need the medium used to express the language either in the form of pronunciation or numbers. Secondly, kalam are bond by substance or medium to express language, whether it is in the form of pronunciation or numbers. From the two types of Kalam, according to Ibn ‘Arabi only essential messages can produce knowledge, while kalam which is bond by substance only produce understandings.Al-Fahm is just an illustration of many images of knowledge, it is not knowledge.

The method which is used by theologian in hadi> th codification has a trend that changes from time to time. After third century of hijriyah, some theologians arrange hadi>th?s book using the method that has already taught to them before, but others have a different method. One of the methods which is dissimilar from others is hadi>th codification method or it is called Mu?jam. Mu?jam is a hadi> th codification typology that is based on the friend of the Prophet?s Musnad or the writer?s teacher that is arranged based on the alphabet. In some sample, it has seemed that Mu?jam?s book also shows some friends of the Prophet?s biography before showing the history of them. Mu?jam?s book is classified into two groups. They are Mu?jam al-Shuyu>kh (based on teacher?s names) and Mu?jam al-S{ah}a>bah (based on friends of the Prophet?s names). Commonly, there is some quality of hadi>th s in Mu?jam?s books. There are s}ah}i>h}, h}asan, d}a?i>f even mawd}u>? (false). One of the benefits in Ma?ajim?s book is as the main reference of Prophet?s Musnad hadi>th. It means continued until the Prophet himself and containing lots of hadi>th that is not found in al-Kutu>b al-Sittah. Moreover, Mu?jam?s book is one of the main references to know the biography of S{ah}abat (friend?s Prophet), nasab (offspring), and their virtue.

Pengembangan studi Islam untuk masa sekarang memang masih menyisakan sejumlah persoalan yang sebenarnya berpangkal dari tiga hal, metodologi, materi, dan strategi pembelajaran. Terlebih ketika studi Islam tersebut berada dalam wilayah kajian tafsir dan hadis, maka permasalahan pun menjadi semakin kompleks. Maka sebagai institusi pendidikan tinggi Islam, IAIN dan STAIN sudah saatnya membenahi diri dan membekali para peserta didiknya dengan penguasaan dan pengembangan metodologi yang tepat guna. Hal ini dimulai dengan upaya-upaya dialogis TimurBarat (hiwâr al-masyriq wa al-maghrib), dalam pengertian perlunya sintesis antara pendekatan normatif konvensional seperti tafsir dan hadis yang akar kesejarahannya berasal dari Islam dan pendekatan-pendekatan ilmiah yang muncul di Barat, seperti sosiologi dan antropologi. Dengan pendekatan ganda tersebut, beberapa cacat metodologis dari masingmasing pendekatan, baik normatif maupun historisnya akan dapat dieleminir sekecil mungkin. Kemunculan para pemikir Islam kontemporer, baik dalam skala lokal maupun internasional, dengan gagasan-gagasan baru pengembangan studi Islam terutama kajian tafsir dan hadis, di satu sisi patut untuk diapresiasi sebagai dinamika yang akan memperkaya khazanah intelektual Islam meskipun di sisi lain gagasangagasan mereka juga perlu untuk dikritisi demi pengembangan kajian keislaman yang lebih komprehensif dan integral.

This paper discusses treatise concerning Muhammad preaching to the human rights andequality among humans. In this paper, the writer mentioned that Prophet Muhammadalways give attention to the issues of equality and human rights. He has tried in earnestto bring about equality of human rights. Among the steps he did, namely by sending amessage to the kings or rulers around Arab peninsule in that time. These messages cameto be known as Muhammad the sublime treatise, which became indication that Islam hadlong talks about equality and human rights. Everyone has equal rights and obligations.The differences between them over the contribution of the benifit works that can be given tomankind in general.
