Jurnal Ilmiah Ilmu Ushuluddin (p-ISSN: 1412-5188 / e-ISSN: 2549-3752) is open access and peer-reviewed journal of Islamic Studies published by the Ushuluddin Faculty of UIN Antasari Banjarmasin. The journal is published twice a year (June and December) in both print and online versions and provides a forum for publishing the original research articles and review articles related to issues in the area of Islamic Studies such as Qur’an and Hadits Studies, Religious Studies, Islamic Philosophy, and Islamic Spirituality (Sufism) from scholars of related disciplines.

The effort to study and explore the meaning of the Quran has been done by Muslims through various approaches of knowledge, among others by interpreting methodologically as many previous mufassir done, such as ijmali method, tahlili, maudhui, and muqaran. This method is also applied (developed) at the level of educational institutions in the Department of Qurâanic and Tafsir Studies, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Humanities IAIN Antasari. Based on the results of studentsâ research, Â this study provides an indication that the themes of Quranic commentary studies show many variations, especially in the application of the developed interpretation methodology.

Tulisan ini menguraikan tentang pandangan Imm al-Syfi kedudukan sunnah yangmerupakan tradisi berasal dari Nabi saw. dan penyelesaian hadis yang secararedaksional berbeda menurut sebagian ulama. Dalam pemikiran al-Syfi sunnahmeskipun diriwayatkan oleh satu orang saja, akan tetapi memenuhi syarat kesahihanhadis yang dirumuskan oleh ulama, maka dalam menetapkan hukum harusdidahulukan dari praktek hidup masyarakat apalagi keputusan akal semata. Dalamtulisan ini juga diuraikan bahwa Imm al-Syfi merumuskan suatu jawaban dalammenyikapi beberapa Hadis yang oleh sebagian pihak dinilai bertentangan, denganteori al-jam, nsikh-manskh, tarjh dan tanawwu al-Ibdah.

The validity of hadith is not only seen from the sanad aspect, but also from matan. Hadith scholars set two criteria forthe validity of the matan, both are avoid syaz and illah. Disability element of matan at syaz lies in the contention ofthe matan. The illah aspect of matan was because of the additional editorial matan when compared with other. Al-Adlabi formulated the criteria of the validity of matan based on four things namely; 1). It is not contradicting with theKoran; 2). It is not contrary with the valid hadith and sirah nabawiyah; 3). It is not contrary to reason, sense andhistory; and 4). It is similar with the prophetic word. If the formula of al-Adlabis matan criticism is seen in aspectsof syaz and illah, then it appears that his offering is only covers one aspect of the syaz of matan criticism. While thecriteria of illah have not been accommodated in the rule.

This article discusses the views of the ulama of Banjarmasin concerning the Sufi concept of kasyf. The popular opinion in Banjarese society says that anybody who knows unseen and mysterious things is the one who gets kasyf. According to the ulama, however, kasyf means the uncovering of the unseen and the divine mysteries in which one can see and have a dialogue with God through his/her heart. Kasyf is the fruit of consistent pious life, controlling oneâs desires, remembrance of God and worshiping Him in seclusion.

Islamic theology with theosentric paradigm was considered as something that must be shifted because the theology could not solve the contemporary problems that faced by Islam. During this time, classical theology considered stuck in the problems that are too soar and do not touch humanitarian problems such as poverty, corruption and oppression. Therefore, some Islamic thinkers such as Hasan Hanafi, Asghar Ali Engineer, and Nurcholis Madjid offered an alternative theology which is counted more grounded. Theology with this paradigm commonly referred to anthropocentric view.

Nama atau sebutan Syiah memang sudah tidak asing bagi kita. Akan tetapitentang aspek pemikiran teologi yang mewarnai doktrin akidah mereka belumbanyak diketahui. Tulisan ini merupakan suatu kajian yang berupaya mengungkapaspek pemikiran teologi yang mewarnai doktrin akidah kaum Syiah. Deskripsihasil kajian ini menggambarkan bahwa pemikiran teologi yang paling kuat memberiwarna bagi doktrin akidah kaum Syiah yang membuat berbedanya doktrin akidahmereka dari akidah yang dianut umat Islam pada umumnya ialah tentang imâmahdan rukun iman. Imâmah ialah kepemimpinan pengganti Nabi setelah beliau wafatdan kepemimpinan seterusnya. Menurut kaum Syiah, imam (pemimpin) umatsetelah Nabi wafat adalah âAlî bin Abi Thâlîb dan kemudian dilanjutkan secaraturun-temurun olah keturunannya. Imam-imam itu oleh mereka dianggap sebagaiorang-orang yang mashûm, yakni terpelihara dari berbuat dosa atau kesalahan.Bagi mereka kepercayaan terhadap imâmah ini adalah bagian dari akidah. Karenaitu, mereka menjadikan imâmah salah satu rukun iman. Rukun iman bagi merekaterdiri dari Tauhid, Kenabian, Hari Kemudian, dan Imâmah. Dari sini terlihat segiperbedaan doktrin akidah kaum Syiah dari ajaran akidah yang dianut umat Islampada umumnya.

This paper tries to explore the concept of knowledge (ilm) in Islam. There are twoaspects that will be discussed here. Both are the view of meaning and the essence ofknowledge in Islam and the sources of knowledge in Islam. The first one speaks aboutthe ontological aspect and the second one discusses about epistemological aspect. This articleshows that the research that the concept of knowledge in Islam is similar with theconcept of science in western tradition, but with the wider scope. Seeing in knowledgesources, there are three aspects that can be explored, those are the signs of qauliyyah (thewords of God), the signs of kauniyyah (the world of God), and the signs of insniyyah.

Subul al-Salm, al-Shananis work accommodates the explanation of Bulugh al-Maram, the work of Ibn Hajaral-Asqalani that contain the Prophetic Hadith. Many moslems in the Islamic world use it to understand the meaningof some hadiths. As the explanation book (kitab syarh), Subul al-Salm certainly has some methods of interpretinghadiths. This article tried to explain al-Shananis methods in interpreting hadith. Actually it discussed about thebiography of Subul al-Salms author, the systematic of the book, and the interpretation methods that is used in thebook. After all, this article wants to give the reader a comprehensive representation of Subul al-Salm.

Using mixed methods has not been widely discussed in the field of religious studies in Indonesia. This paper is presented to acomodate the use of this method in the study of religion in the region empirically. There are a number of strategies of mixed methods that can be used in studying religion, namely sequential mixed method, mixed method, and transformative concurrent mixed method. Each strategy is subdivided into several variants of strategies. All of these strategies can be used in studying the phenomenon of religion in accordance to the condition of the object, purpose of research and selection of researchers. Religious researchers can use this method if they want to understand religious phenomena simultaneously.

The problem of human actions has been an important discoursein Islamic theology. The main problem here is that how humans actionsare understood in relation to God. Are human actions created by humanbeings themselves or by God? Muslim theologians have different answersto this question. This article discusses the opinions of the Asyâaritetheologians, namely al-Asyâari, al-Baqillani, al-Juwaini and al-Ghazali.Although these theologians are in the same school of Asyâarism, theyhave similar as well as different opinions on this important issue.
