Abstract

The politic of identity based on religion is still a major issue of Indonesian nationality.One such issue is the validity of a religious groups involvement in the national publicpolicy in Indonesia.In this context, the theory of Jurgen Habermass discourse and itsrelation to his view of post-secularism was very relevant to discuss. For Habermas, theneutrality of the public sphere does not mean that a vacuum of religion. In the name ofdemocracy, religious positions should be placed in parallel with the formation of otherpolitical opinions and aspirations. Functional differentiation in modern society leadingto the individualization of religion does not necessarily imply loss of influence andrelevance of religion in the public sphere. Nevertheless, of course, the involvement ofreligion in the public sphere still has limits, that the religious language of particularreligion must be translated into the language first that being accepted by the public,which has epistemic status that can be accepted by the other residents. Such alignmentis called postsekular people, where every citizen has the right faith with the bond ofcommunication with each other.

Abstract

This article intends to examine the integration between Islamic studies and philosophy from the philosophy of science perspective. The focus of this study primarily focuses on Islamic studies in Islamic university in Indonesia, regarding the real conditions of its science seen from the perspective of philosophical learning. The second focus is the offer of the philosophy of science approach in developing Islamic studies. The article concludes that Islamic studies at the university are ?poor of philosophy" because the direction of the study is mostly dominated by normative studies.  Therefore, as the first step, the bachelor degree in all faculties of Islamic university should study philosophy of science, it is also necessary to develop Islamic studies from the philosophy of science perspective, such as the philosophy proposed by Thomas Kuhn and Imre Lakatos.

Abstract

One of the important issues facing the global and human was the environmental issue. This paper discussed a solution to this global crisis from the perspective of al-Qur`an about theology environment (eco - theology). By applying a thematic approach (mawdh') in the study of Tafseer al-Qur`an, this paper came to an important conclusion. First, in view of universe al-Qur`an was referred to as evidence of God's creation creativity. Nature was also created as a sign of his power. Therefore, the universe was created had a purpose (bil hikmah) (bi al-haq), not in vain (falsehood). Second, al-Qur`an taught theological principles in the maintenance of nature, namely that the Earth was only inherited theological promised by His servants the righteous course, the relationship management of nature (taskhr) with a value of tawhid, the need to pay attention to the balance of the cosmos and the principle economic in nature management, the necessity of the earth "prospered" (i`mar), and the prohibition of destructive nature. Third, al-Qur`an stated that people who did not believe keberhikmahan universe, theologically, was a disbeliever , because at the same time he believed the futility of God's creation, so the implications are more far in the denial of moral obligation (moral imperative) and blindness spiritual (spiritual blindness). The commentators understood the "kufr ecological" implied a denial of the divinity of God Almighty and the denial of the resurrection in the afterlife.

Abstract

Religious plurality is condition which no one can reject it but it must be thought how to respond the issue. So far, many recorded attitude show various respond about it. This work will elaborate the issue from religious people?s perspective, especially the figures in Kapul village, Halong districts of Balangan regency. Actually, it is Dayak?s region. But, there are many religious followers such Islam, Catholics, Hinduism, Buddhism, and local religion. They live together in harmony. This research is a qualitative one with sociological approach as the main theory of Max Weber?s charismatic. While the methods are direct observation, interview, and documentation.It concluded that Dayak figures believe that everyone can choose their religion without force and pressure so then they can respect another highly. Even in the village, every community will attend an event that hold by other religious communities. They believe that all of them are originated from the same ancestor so religion cannot change this principle.

Abstract

Kekerasan terhadap perempuan terjadi di segala bidang kehidupan. Kekerasanmerupakan produk dari budaya patriarki tidak saja menyentuh wilayah sosial,melainkan juga merambah ke wilayah agama. Agama dianggap menjadi pembenardan pelanggeng praktek kekerasan terhadap perempuan. Melalui analisis gender,persoalan kekerasan terhadap perempuan menemukan akarnya, yaitu pandanganbias gender dalam semua dimensi kehidupan, termasuk dalam agama. Adapun taoismeIslam melihat sifat maskulin negatif sebagai akar tindakan kekerasan. Relasi setaradalam hubungan kesalingan menjadi tawaran penting yang diajukan analisis genderdan taoisme Islam.

Abstract

The globalization brings many impacts in the world. In Indonesia, some people consider it as a threat for the localwisdom and national culture. In this era, the flow of information cannot be repressed, so all people can access it easily.Somehow it will be positive, but the reality said that the negative impacts is bigger for the community especially for theyoung generation. To prevent the things happen, it is needed for them to have strong character in their personality. Thiswriting discussed about the concept of building the childrens character since early. So far, the article is going to comparethe thought of Albert Bandura and Muhammad Mutawwali al-Syarawi in building character. In the end, it will beconcluded the differences and the similarities between both concepts.

Abstract

This study attempts to examine the origin of theology. In every religion, it is the most substantial element, because it is the intellectual discourse around the divinity and belief of that religion. We know the terms such as Christian Theology, Jewish Theology, Islamic Theology, Hindu Theology and so on. From here, howeover, it raises the question of what theology is intrinsically? Etymologically the term theology is in fact derived from the Greek whose people are the worshipers of the gods and do not recognize the conception of divinity as other religions do. How can it exist in these religions? From this historical-philosophical search it is found that theology in its generic meaning is defined as the discourse of the exalted supranatural being. It is born naturally in every society from time to time. It can take a variety of forms according to the religious tradition of its people, but in essence it is the discourse on the One who organizes and manages the universe.

Abstract

The methodology of kalam in Islamic thought was born and developed by islamic experts as an attempt to translatethe values of universality al-Quran and al-Hadith. Here, they expressed his views of kalam, then maintained itthrough rational-logical argument, which is adapted to the circumstances age. The methodology of classical kalamthinking was the answers to the problems of kalam in passed time, which can be identified as from political strife, andphilosophical mindset, especially for flow of kalam which have relation with the Greek philosophical thought, and itstheocentric oriented. While the methodology of kalam contemporary thought have in touch with contemporary Westernphilosophical thought today, its presence is not merely an attempt apoligetik defending God, but that is more anthropocentricexpected to help, overcome and solve the problems of society today.

Abstract

This paper would like to present in a comparative analysis the interpretation made by M. Quraish Shihab about QS. al-Qalam. Comparison of interpretations in this paper will elevate the written and oral interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab at once, in this case the interpretation of writing will refer to the Tafseer of Al-Misbah, and the interpretation of the Oral will refer to the "Kajian Tafseer of Al-Misbah". What is interesting in the interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab is that even though it is done by the same person, there is a difference between the interpretation of the text and the oral interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab. The process of comparison of interpretations will be analyzed using the theory of orality, especially additive traits instead of subordinates. The question to be answered in this paper is how are the differences and similarities between M. Quraish Shihab's written and oral interpretations of surah al-Qalam? What causes these differences and similarities

Abstract

The writing was concern on Ibn Rusyds theology thought. This was interesting to be discussed because that Ibn Rusyd was not only a theologian but also a philosopher and jurist of Islam. Based on this fact, then the question arises; first, whether ibn rusyds theology was different from the other figures that only theologians alone. Second, whether his philosophical and jurisprudential view affected his theology thought. The result of this writing showed that Ibn Rusyd had unique theology thought which his philosophical and jurisprudential view affected his theology so that his theology was more rational but it was not too liberal because of his jurisprudential view.
