Abstract

Mental health is both a personal and structural issue in Indonesia. In the context of the increasingly critical issue of women's mental health, particularly when faced with social, cultural, and psychological challenges, the story of Abigail in 1 Samuel 25 provides insights into the wisdom and resilience of women in overcoming challenges and difficulties. Asian feminist hermeneutics is utilized because this perspective offers an analysis from the viewpoint of women, addressing a research gap due to the limited studies in feminist hermeneutics in Asia that specifically explore the theology of women's mental health through biblical narratives. This article aims to construct an Old Testament theology regarding women's mental health in Indonesia. Thus, the story of Abigail in 1 Samuel 25 can be constructed as a theology of mental health that emphasizes personal wisdom with therapeutic potential, where women can assume the role of resilient figures amid mental health issues. AbstrakPermasalahan mental di Indonesia merupakan permasalahan yang personal namun juga strukturral. Dalam konteks isu kesehatan mental perempuan yang semakin penting, terutama dihadapkan pada tantangan sosial, budaya, dan psikologis, kisah Abigail di 1 Samuel 25 menawarkan wawasan tentang kebijaksanaan dan ketahanan perempuan dalam menghadapi tantangan dan kesulitan. Hermeneutik feminis Asia dipakai karena perspektif ini menawarkan suatu analisis dari perspektif perempuan, yang mana di sisi lain gap penelitian terletak pada keterbatasan studi hermeneutik feminis di Asia yang khusus mengkaji teologi kesehatan mental perempuan melalui narasi Alkitab. Artikel ini bertujuan  untuk mengonstruksi teologi Perjanjian Lama terhadap kesehatan mental perempuan di Indonesia. Maka kisah Abigail dalam 1 Samuel 25 dapat dikonstruksi sebagai teologi kesehatan mental yang menekankan pada hikmat personal yang terapeutik di mana perempuan dapat mengambil peran sebagai sosok yang resilien di tengah pemasalahan mental

Abstract

This study is a response to growing concern about the accumulation of ecological crises and other troubling bio-geological changes that have occurred recently on both a global and local scale. However, this conversation will be restricted to a local scale due to numerous constraints, particularly responding to the ecological tragedy of forest and land fires in the Bromo savanna in early September 2023. The thesis of this paper is that “Bromo as the body of God” can be an imaginative critique of a forest and land fire incident involving one of the Tengger tribe's local wisdom of nature conservation known as the ethnobotany of the Yadnya Kasada ceremony and studied from the standpoint of Pentecostal Eco-pneumatology. To demonstrate this argument, I utilized a descriptive-analysis approach based chiefly on the works of a feminist eco-theologian named Sallie McFague, which was then interlaced with sharp insights from some Pentecostal/Charismatic (P/C) scholars. As a result, the metaphor of “Bromo as the Body of God” proposes a new ecological paradigm that simultaneously unites human tears, earth tears, and God's tears. The sacred character of the earth as a manifestation of His body must compel efforts to manage, restore, and maintain the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park (Taman Nasional Bromo Tengger Semeru, TNBTS) region as a tangible representation of the need to care for the sustainability of the current environment.

Abstract

Church elders, deacons, and church members are the main elements of a church and have different functions. Moreover, the church elders and deacons are ecclesiastical ministers held by elected church members. Those three are different but, at the same time, is a unity of church members. Therefore, those three should synergize in the act of service as the realization of faith in Christ. Then, how can ordained ministers and church members perform ministry action passionately, even if it has different functions? This article will interpret ngelai as the spirituality of ministry with a dimension of participation. The unity of ordained ministers and church members manifests church life character, which has a relational dimension with Christ as the axis. Ngelai is then seen as the main power of those three to do an act of ministry as a responsibility of themselves as imago Christi that seek to imitate Christ the Head of the Church. AbstrakPertua, diaken, dan warga gereja adalah unsur utama dari suatu jemaat yang memiliki fungsi berbeda-beda. Kendati demikian, pertua dan diaken adalah jabatan gerejawi yang diemban oleh warga jemaat yang terpilih. Ketiganya berbeda tetapi di saat yang bersamaan adalah kesatuan utuh dari warga gereja. Oleh karena itu, ketiganya sudah seharusnya saling bersinergi dalam tindak-pelayanan sebagai wujud dari iman kepada Kristus. Lantas, bagaimana pelayan yang tertahbis dan warga gereja dapat melakukan tindak-pelayanan dengan penuh gairah sekalipun memiliki fungsi yang berbeda? Artikel ini mencoba untuk memaknai ngelai sebagai spiritualitas pelayanan yang memiliki dimensi partisipasi. Kesatuan dari pelayan tertahbis dan warga gereja menampakkan watak kehidupan gerejawi yang relasional dengan Kristus sebagai poros. Ngelai kemudian dilihat sebagai daya utama bagi ketiganya untuk melakukan tindak-pelayanan sebagai tanggung jawab dirinya adalah imago Chirsti yang berupaya untuk meniru Kristus Sang Kepala Gereja.

Abstract

Papalele women face a difficult situation in pursuing their efforts to improve their quality of life from just trading to meeting their daily needs amidst intense competition in the economic sector by developing their physical, mental, spiritual, economic, social, and cultural advantages. Therefore, resources for empowering women small traders are needed and sought through the concept of empowering pastoral care. This article aims to construct empowering pastoral care based on the elaboration of the idea of pastoral care according to Emmanuel Yartekwey Lartey and cosmology, as well as the meaning of life of Papalele women by referring to the views of experts. The qualitative research in this paper uses descriptive analysis with literature study and observation data collection techniques. The findings in this research are that the concept of pastoral care with a theological approach and Lartey's pastoral care can be a theological source for empowering women small traders, especially Papalele women. AbstrakPara perempuan papalele menghadapi situasi yang sukar dalam menekuni usaha mereka demi meningkatkan kualitas hidup dari sekadar berdagang untuk memenuhi kebutuhan sehari-hari di tengah kompetisi yang ketat dalam bidang ekonomi, dengan mengembangkan berbagai kelebihan yang mereka miliki secara fisik, mental, spiritual, ekonomi, sosial, dan budaya. Oleh sebab itu, sumber-sumber pemberdayaan kaum perempuan pedagang kecil diperlukan dan diupayakan melalui konsep pendampingan pastoral yang memberdayakan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkonstruksi sebuah pendampingan pastoral yang memberdayakan berdasarkan elaborasi antara gagasan pendampingan pastoral menurut Emmanuel Yartekwey Lartey dan kosmologi, juga pemaknaan hidup para perempuan papalele tersebut dengan mengacu pada pandangan para ahli. Jenis penelitian kualitatif dalam tulisan ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data studi literatur dan observasi. Temuan dalam penelitian ini adalah, konsep pendampingan pastoral dengan pendekatan teologi dan pendampingan pastoral Lartey dapat menjadi sumber teologi bagi pemberdayaan kaum perempuan pedagang kecil, khususnya para perempuan papalele.

Abstract

This article explores the integration of spirituality in pastoral counseling through a holistic Christian education approach. The research reveals that spirituality is not merely an additional element, but a fundamental dimension that animates the entire counseling process. A systematic literature review found significant gaps in pastoral counseling practices in Indonesia, where the spiritual dimension is often separated from the psychological approach. The article analyzes the theological foundation of spirituality as the basis for pastoral counseling, explores a holistic approach in integrating spiritual dimensions with psychological aspects, and formulates an implementation model of spiritual harmony in pastoral counselor education programs. Findings indicate that harmonizing spirituality in pastoral counseling requires a systematic approach through integrated curriculum, spiritual formation, supervision models based on theological reflection, and contextualization relevant to Indonesian realities. This model's implementation impacts individual recovery and contributes to transforming faith communities and developing counseling approaches responsive to contemporary challenges.   Abstrak Artikel ini mengeksplorasi integrasi spiritualitas dalam konseling pastoral melalui pendekatan pendidikan Kristiani yang holistik. Penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa spiritualitas bukan sekadar elemen tambahan, melainkan dimensi fundamental yang menjiwai seluruh proses konseling. Melalui kajian literatur sistematis, ditemukan adanya kesenjangan signifikan dalam praktik konseling pastoral di Indonesia, di mana dimensi spiritualitas seringkali dipisahkan dari pendekatan psikologis. Artikel menganalisis fondasi teologis spiritualitas sebagai landasan konseling pastoral, mengeksplorasi pendekatan holistik dalam mengintegrasikan dimensi spiritual dengan aspek psikologis, serta merumuskan model implementasi harmoni spiritualitas dalam program pendidikan konselor pastoral. Temuan menunjukkan bahwa harmonisasi spiritualitas dalam konseling pastoral membutuhkan pendekatan sistematis melalui kurikulum terintegrasi, pembentukan spiritual, model supervisi berbasis refleksi teologis, dan kontekstualisasi yang relevan dengan realitas Indonesia. Implementasi model ini tidak hanya berdampak pada pemulihan individu, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada transformasi komunitas iman dan pengembangan pendekatan konseling yang responsif terhadap tantangan kontemporer.
