Abstract

Tower is a structure vertically designed that the blades and other components attached. The process for structural design for the tower starts by identifying all of the requirements, and then specifies the desired design criteria. The desired design criteria are high strength, low cost, lightweight, does not require a large area, ease of assembly and transport. The proposed tower types are guyed, lattice, and tubular. The analysis result shows that the lattice tower type matches with the design criteria. The next processes are modeling and stress analyzing using MSC Patran/Nastran. The maximum stress is 42 Newton per milimeters square and the Margin of safety (MS) value is 7.815, so the structure is safe. In the process of making the composite sandwich wind blades, it is starts with the creation of the master molding, mold, foam cores and assembly. The results of the three blades were made indicate by a difference in weight. It is caused by the manufacturing system (manual). However, the difference is still relevant or good because it is less than 5 percent.

Abstract

The measurement of the duration of solar irradiation at the climatology station can be done using campbell stokes and pias cards. The aim of this research is to assist the climatology station operator to determine the burn object on the SO-40U (1400-40S) type of pias cards, making it easier to calculate the duration of solar irradiation. This app is designed and built to successfully segmentation the burn on the card automatically. In this research, the data was collected at a climatology station located in Barongan, Sumberagung Jetis, Bantul. Based on the test conducted segmentation generated in this study is good and produce RMSE number of object result of segmentation equal to 2,6485 to sum object in original image. The difference in object calculation results from a segmentation error caused by a small burning object of the pias card and or a thin but translucent object, so that the object is partially lost or forms an objects separation area.

Abstract

Learning through the use of animation E-Learning can be a learning tool to teach using electronic applications, media, Internet, Intranet or other computer network media. In addition to computers and Internet networks, which play a role in e-learning is the brainware that is creating content (text, images, video, animation) and user/users of e-learning (teachers and students). It should be noted in making animated e-learning is the content that should be included in accordance with the curriculum that is used by the school to be used for teaching and learning in schools. Making animated blueprint of learning by using characters then do modeling and animation. The subjects used in this study animation is Mathematics and Physics. Software used in the manufacture of learning applications that 3ds Max 2010, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe After Effects. The analysis tested the effectiveness of learning communication using questionnaire and calculation using a Likert scale that shows the percentage of 69.83%, the analysis proves that by using an animated e-learning teaching and learning activities in the classroom more effectively.

Abstract

Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS), is a device provided by the airport service to assist a pilot parked the plane on the righr place. On Aircraft parking control activities in the airport, the pilot is assisted by a marshaller that aims to be steering the movement of aircraft to the correct parking spot. The more density of the movement of aircraft on the apron activity requires the use of alternative technology to substitute marshaller, this technology is called Visual Docking Guidance Syatem (VDGS). VDGS display design uses three pieces o f board o f dot matrix display that is made into one to form a combination in accordance with the appearance on the VDGS on the market. Display used is a superbright LED dot matrix. The controller is a three pieces of. PIC 16F84A microcontroller and a series o f shift registers to display the movement of the aircraft to the right, to the left, straight and stops and also display the aircraft identity.

Abstract

Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT) telah dikembangkan berdasarkan kriteria desain dan pertimbangan performa yang diinginkan seperti desain Darrieus dengan bentuk rotor-H, bentuk rotor-V dan bentuk rotor-Troposkein dan desain Gorlov dengan bentuk rotor-helix. Penelitian ini fokus pada modifikasi bentuk bilah rotor VAWT skala kecil yang telah dibuat sebelumnya dari bentuk lurus (straight shaped) menjadi bentuk puntir (helical shaped) untuk meningkatkan performa aerodinamika bilah rotor VAWT. Analisis performa aerodinamika rotor VAWT dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan model double-multiple stream-tube (DMS). Analisis dilakukan dengan variasi sudut puntir  bilah sebesar 45o , 60o, 75o, 90o, 105o dan 120o. Hasil analisis performa rotor menunjukkan bentuk puntir bilah tidak mempengaruhi besar nilai koefisien power turbin angin yang dihasilkan rotor, tetapi torsi yang dihasilkan oleh bilah puntir untuk semua sudut putar memiliki arah yang sama yang dapat mempertahankan putaran turbin yang menghasilkan power yang konstan, berbanding terbalik dengan bentuk bilah lurus. Dari semua sudut puntir yang dianalisis, disimpulkan bahwa sudut puntir yang menghasilkan nilai torsi besar dan power konstan adalah sudut puntir 45o.

Abstract

Colombo High School is an educational institution in charge of handling activities related to education. As an educational institution at present the 2013 curriculum report data management still uses Microsoft Excel applications with the step of the subject teacher submitting the file value to the homeroom teacher and the homeroom teacher will process the value data and submit it to the curriculum section for printing. Of course this requires a long time and is not effective. Another problem that arises is that the current process is perceived to be less optimal and efficient, the guardian of the student must go to the school every semester which requires a lot of time for the guardians of students who cannot attend the division of the Colombo High School students achievement report and the report can only be seen at a certain time. This research was designed and built using the CodeIgniter framework and uses a MySQL database as well as the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method of the waterfall model which can help the school, namely teachers, homerooms and curriculum parts in terms of report card management and for learners.

Abstract

Pada perkembangan komunikasi wireless, pengendalian suatu pesawat tanpa awak dengan jarak yang jauh merupakan sebuah tantangan. Salah satu teknik untuk mewujudkannya yaitu dengan menggunakan penguat sinyal (signal booster) yang dapat menambah jangkauan dari pengendali pesawat tersebut. Pada pengendali pesawat tanpa awak menggunakan Remote Control (RC).Signal booster yang dioperasikan pada frekuensi 72,83 MHz ini dirancang dengan empat tingkat penguat dengan transistor seri 2SC930, 2SC2053 dan 2SC1971. Signal booster ini dirancang dioperasikan pada kelas A untuk tingkat I, II, III, dan kelas C untuk tingkat IV dengan pangkaian penyesuai impedansi yang digunakan yaitu tipe T dan L. Pada bagian transmiter digunakan antena omnidirectional.Berdasarkan perancangan frekuensi yang digunakan 72.83MHz dengan bandwidth 30kHz. Level puncak amplituodo yang dihasilkan sebesar -27dBm dengan dengan reference level 0 dBm. Hasil pengukuran menunjukkan penguat dapat bekerja pada frekuensi 72,83 MHz dengan daya keluaran 4,5 watt atau gain sebesar 16,58 dB dan mendekati hasil perancangan. Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) yang diukur sebesar 1.1 dengan batas minimal VSWR yaitu 1.Kata kunci: Signal booster, Penguat, Remote Control In the development of wireless communication, the development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle a long distance is a challenge. One technique to make it happen is by using a signal amplifier that can add facilities to the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle controller using Remote Control (RC).The signal amplifier that operates at 72.83 MHz frequency is designed with four amplifier levels with 2SC930, 2SC2053 and 2SC1971 series transistors. This signal amplifier is designed to operate in class A for levels I, II, III, and class C for level IV with impedance adjustment circuits namely type T and L. On the part of the omnidirectional transmitter antenna.According to the designer, the frequency used is 72.83MHz with a bandwidth of 30kHz. The amplitudo peak level produced is -27dBm with a reference level of 0 dBm. High results indicate the amplifier can work at a frequency of 72.83 MHz with power ranging from 4.5 watts or gain of 16.58 dB and approaching the designers results. Abstract

Circulatory system learning can use three-dimensional animation to facilitate the delivery of material in teaching and learning activities in elementary schools. In making the three-dimensional animation using Autodesk Maya software and 3Ds Max software. The techniques used include High Poly techniques and Particle System techniques. Heart and lung organs, visualized in three dimensions using High Poly techniques while animation of circulatory systems in humans using Particle System techniques. The application function test results indicate that this application can run according to its function and the results of testing the use of applications with the teacher respondents with calculations using a Likert scale obtained results of 97.2% and these results fall into the very good category (using the calculation of interval formulas), so that conclusions are obtained that the three-dimensional animation application of the circulatory system can be applied and can assist the teacher in providing student learning in elementary school.

Abstract

The camera on the smartphone was basically to take pictures or video with equivalent quality digital camera or video recorder. The camera on the smartphone lies in two different locations, first place the rear side and the second being in front. Drone Syma x8hg who used to fly a smartphone for the shooting process is controlled from the laptop software, maximum range 80 meters from the drones by remote control. Software on Android devices and laptops must first diinstalisasi so both devices can be connected to the web server of the provider to process images from a drone Syma x8hg, the two devices must have a network connection provider respectively. Results from testing the smartphone camera carried by a flying drone can be controlled for filming with the distance is affected by the strength of the signal from the service providers internet connection, while the height is limited by the strength of the signal between the drone with remote control.

Abstract

Lumpy demand represents the circumstances when a demand for an item has a large proportion of periods having zero demand. This certain situation makes the time series methods might become inappropriate due to the model’s inability to capture the demand pattern. This research aims to compare several forecasting methods for lumpy demand that is represented by the demand of spare part. Three forecasting methods are chosen; Linear Exponential Smoothing (LES), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Bootstrap. The Mean Absolute Scaled Error (MASE) is used to measure the forecast performance. In order to gain more understanding on the effect of the forecasting method on spare parts inventory management, inventory simulation using oil and gas company’s data is then conducted. Two inventory parameters; average inventory and service level; are used to measure the performance. The result shows that ANN is found to be the best method for spare part forecasting with MASE of 0,761. From the inventory simulation, the appropriate forecasting method on spare parts inventory management is able to reduce average inventory by 11,9% and increase service level by 10,7%. This result justifies that selecting the appropriate forecasting method is one of the ways to achieve spare part inventory management’s goal.
