Abstract

Energy is one of the main needs ofhuman life. Energy enhancement can be anindicator of the increasing prosperity of an area, butsimultaneously it also poses problems with supply. An adequate and cheap as well as environmentallyfriendly electrical energy supply for sustainableeconomic and social development. Limitations ofelectrical energy are one of the obstacles in theconstruction and development of ruralcommunities. The micro-hydro power plantis selected as oneof the alternative energy that are environmentallyfriendly, pollution-free, renewable (renewable), notconsumptive of water use, durable (long life), andsmall operational cost is suitable for remote areas. The potential of hydro energy in the Province ofNorth Maluku contained in several regions, including in Ibu Village, West Halmahera. Hydropower potential has been exploited is still relativelysmall. The utilization of hydropower proficiencylevel is still relatively small because the potential isusually located in remote areas that electricitydemand is relatively small, so for micro hydropotential are located far from consumers has notbeen utilized.

Abstract

Abstract—The setting of physical and mechanical behavior of aproduct increasingly necessary to improve the economical aspects. One applicative techniques that can be done is the incorporation ofthe material making up a product with variations in the type andposition. This study models the bimetal products by varying theposition of the combination block Cu-Ni. Simulation using FiniteElement Method (FEM), the results obtained in the form of deflectionand twist angle. From the simulation results obtained smallestdeflection occurs in combination model block length and deflectionCu-Ni greatest model of Cu-Ni horizontal position. While thesmallest torsional angle for temperature occurs in a wide combinationmodel block Cu-Ni and greatest torsional angle occurs in blocks widevariation model combination Cu-Ni.

Abstract

A simple and practical UV detection ion chromatography (IC) method has been developed for the identification of smokers and non-smokers by determining the concentration of thiocyanate ion (SCN−), and a number of other inorganic anions, such as S2O32−, C2O42−, I−, IO3−, BrO3−, NO2−, Br− and NO3− in human physiological fluid samples such as urine and saliva. The method performed sodium hydrogen carbonate as the eluent and combining with IC-Anion PWxl PEEK separation column in all determinations. The determination of SCN− and other anions are carried out in ultraviolet detection (lambda, λ=210 nm). Good chromatograms were achieved and all target anions were eluted within 45 min. The detection limits were calculated at S/N=3 were 0.11−1.75 ppm (mg/L). The repeatability values were below 4.82, 4.84, and 4.87% for peak height, peak area and retention time, respectively. The developed method was successfully applied to the determination of all targeted anions especially thiocyanate ion (SCN−) in smokers and non-smokers urine and saliva samples. The samples were obtained from healthy adult smoker and non-smoker volunteers

Abstract

Aluminum is a light metal that has good corrosionresistance and good electrical conductivity.Aluminum usage is expected in the future still widelyopen both as the main material and supportingmaterials with the availability of aluminum seeds inthe abundant earth. By looking at the importance ofthe role of material selection in the advancement ofmanufacturing and assembling industry, the writerconsiders it necessary to conduct scientificpublication on alloy material with various laboratorytesting processes. The purpose of this research isconducting mechanical testing and metallographictesting on some type of percentage of Zinc-Aluminum material. The writer considers toconductalloying of Zinc-Aluminum using sandcasting technique with alloy composition: 1. Zn 25%- Al 75%, 2. Zn 50% - Al 50%., 3. Zn 75 % - Al25%. The method used in this study is to calculateand analyze the influence percentage of Zn additionto mechanical properties of aluminum-zinc alloys(Al-Zn). However, now its use is very widespreadeven it is difficult to describe how the developmentaviation industry without aluminum. Aluminum is ahighly stable oxide that cannot be reduced byreducing other metals. For aluminum-zinc alloys (Al75% - Zn 25%) it can be seen that the greater thestress value, the greater the strain value. This isinfluenced by the value of loading and extension thatoccur. For aluminum-zinc alloys (Al 50% - Zn 50%)it can be seen that the greater the stress value will befollowed by increasing the strain value, this isinfluenced by the loading and extension values thatoccur. For aluminum-zinc alloys (Al 25% - Zn75 %)it can be seen that the greater the stress valuefollowed by an increase in the value of strain, this isinfluenced by the value of loading and extension thatoccurred.

Abstract

The cost is one of the main factors because it involves the capital that would have to come out in the implementation of a construction project, a successmeasure of the constructionproject. An early cost estimation done at the conceptual stage of a projectcycle known as a conceptual estimate cost that can bedefined as a costestimate that do based on the buildingconcept will be built. An early cost estimate required by a thorough investigation into a construction project in order to provide the cost as early as possible that necessary so can take the decision or policy and plotting as good as, considering the condition of the Ternate City that having limited budget. This research is using quantitative method research, done by the statisticsapproach (regression analysis) onresearch variables with the link relations the development cost building with parameters from the concept of the building will be built. The research results show that from the result of statisticstesting obtained linearequation Y = -1,677E9 + 4.214.311,110X1with Y is the development cost building and X1is floor area of a building. And have the determinationcoefficients (r2) as much as 0,852.The results of the validation model shows that results gained by use the model chosen than the constructioncost, varying from -6,14% until +3,05%.Variation what happened to the development cost building in Ternate City can be explained by broad floor of a building and indicated the bigger floor area of a building construction of a building, so would tend to the budget that needed to construct a building

Abstract

The rise of temperature outdoor has a significant effect on temperature increase inside building, so that it becomes harder to achieve thermal comfort in summer and causes more utilization of air conditioner occurs. Trees should be considered as real means for the improvement of microclimatic conditions in outdoor spaces. Based on those conditions, this research investigates the effects of vegetation characteristics to the urban climate by literature review and simulation of meteorological model MM5. The results show that vegetation characteristics can influence the thermal performance and microclimate conditions. Evergreen broad leaf forest can reduce temperature of about 3°C and mixture vegetation and water bodies can reduce temperature by more than 5°C. Therefore, vegetation is useful to improve human environment in future.
