Abstract

Sampai saat ini penyediaan energi listrik untuk wilayah terpencil masih merupakan sebuah permasalahan di Maluku Utara. Pemerintah dalam hal ini melalui PLN belum menjangkau daerah terpencil termasuk pulau-pulau kecil. Padahal kebutuhan energi listrik pada masa sekarang sudah merupakan sesuatu yang sangat vital. Oleh karena itu energi angin merupakan kandidat sumber energi yang layak untuk dikembangkan sebagai renewabale energy. Banyak peneliti yang mengembangkan desain turbin angin sumbu vertikal. Penelitian sebelumnya tentang Pembangkit Listrik Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal telah dilakukan di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Khairun pada tahun 2020 menghasilkan keluaran berupa prototype Turbin Angin Sumbu Vertikal yang memiliki sudut optimum. Pada usulan penelitian fakultas ini akan dikembangkan lebih jauh lagi desain Turbin angin sumbu vertikal dengan titik berat pada panjang turbin. Dilakukan pembuatan turbin angin dalam skala laboratorium dan diuji di terowongan angin. Dari pengujian itu akan didapat hasil berupa kecepatan putar turbin sebagai fungsi dari kecepatan angin yang disajikan dalam diagram TSR (Tip Speed Ratio) serta torsi yang didapatkan. Hubungan antara panjang turbin dan unjuk kerja turbin akan dapat diketahui sehingga didapatkan dimensi yang optimum dengan mempertimbangkan faktor kendala yang ada. Hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan bahwa pada ketinggian turbin 17.5 cm, untuk kecepatan angin 2.8 m/s kecepatan poros 330 rpm, untuk kecepatan angin 3.4 m/s kecepatan poros 407 rpm dan kecepatan angin 3.8 m/s didapatkan kecepatan poros 465 rpm. Ini adalah tinggi optimum yang menghasilkan kecepatan sudut paling besar untuk semua variasi tinggi VAWT.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengembangan dan penataan lingkungan permukiman dalam menunjang kelestarian Benteng Fort Oranje sebagai situs bersejarah di Kota Ternate. Obyek dalam penelitian ini adalah kondisi fisik lingkungan permukiman di sekitar benteng Fort Oranje. Lokasi dan objek penelitian adalah Benteng Fort Oranje di wilayah Ternate, Maluku Utara karena merupakan lokasi kawasan situs cagar budaya dan ilmu pengetahuan. Metoda penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif melalui analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat melestarikan lingkungan kawasan bersejarah Benteng Fort Oranje melalui konservasi, rehabilitasi, restorasi, dan konsolidasi fisik lingkungan permukiman. Disamping itu dapat dimanfaatkan oleh Pemerintah daerah (Pemda) yang mempunyai wewenang untuk menata permukiman dan lingkungan.

Abstract

Energy is one of the main needs in human life. Energy enhancement can be an indicator of increasing prosperity of an area but simultaneously it also poses problems in supply. An adequate and cheap as well as environmentally friendly electrical energy supply for sustainable economic and social development. Limitations of electrical energy is one of the obstacles in the construction and development of rural communities.The micro-hydro power plant is selected as one of the alternative energy that are environmentally friendly, pollution-free, renewable (renewable), not consumptive of water use, durable (long life), and small operational cost is suitable for remote areas. The potential of water energy in the province of North Maluku contained in several regions including in Ibu Village, West Halmahera. Hydropower potential has been exploited is still relatively small. The utilization of hydropower proficiency level is still relatively small because the potential is usually located in remote areas that electricity demand is relatively small so for micro hydro potential are located far from consumers has not been utilized.This type of research is a quantitative research through a case study approach (case study). This study tried to design a micro hydro power with a capacity of 500 watts. The research location is in Ibu village, West Halmahera, North Maluku. Design and manufacture prototypes of micro hydro power is done in engineering lab and Mechanical Engineering workshop, University of Khairun. Technique of collecting data through observation and direct observation in the field and literature studies, while engineering analysis is done by making the basic design concept of micro hydro power, process design, simulation using ANSYS 14.5 software, and real experimental by making real prototypes of micro-hydro power and tested in the study site. The findings of this research is the design of the prototype micro-hydro power with a power generator 500 WA and inverter output 1000 Watt.

Abstract

Penggunaan struktur berdinding tipis sebagai penyerap energi impak telah dilakukan pada berbagai bidang. Diantaranya adalah transportasi yaitu dengan menciptakan struktur kendaraan yang mampu menyerap energi impak. Pada penelitian ini akan analisis kemampuan serap energi impak pada tabung aluminum tipis yang diisi dengan karet di dalamnya. Penelitian dilakukan metode elemen hingga, yaitu simulasi dengan menggunakan ANSYS WORKBENCH explicit. Specimen yang dipakai adalah tabung aluminum berdiameter 50 mm ketebalan 2 mm dengan panjang 200 mm. Pemodelan dengan ANSYS dilakukan dengan memberikan tumbukan pada specimen menggunakan baja pejal 10 kg dengan kecepatan bervariasi sesuai dengan ketinggian jatuhnya. Data yang didapat dari simulasi adalah panjang deformasi, mode deformasi, energi yang terserap maupun tegangan regangan. Pengisian tabung aluminum tipis dengan karet diharapkan akan menambah performa tabung tipis dalam menyerap energi impak yaitu dengan memperbesar area plastic hinge pada dinding tabung. Selain itu keberadaan karet akan membuat kecenderungan pola tekukan membentuk axisymmetric daripada pola non axisymmetric.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi aspek sense of place dari Kota Ternate yang dapat dilihat dari prefensi pengunjung. Hal yang diamati yakni terkait aktivitas, setting fisik, dan apa yang dirasakan oleh pengunjung. Dengan mengetahui preferensi pengunjung, diharapkan dapat digunakan untuk menciptakan sense of place yang sesuai dengan tuntutan kebutuhan masa kini. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif dan bersifat eksploratif dengan menggunakan pendekatan grounded theory. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuisioner terbuka (open-ended) tentang apa yang dialami responden. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa aspek setting fisik kawasan perkotaan Kota Ternate yang masih dipertahankan berupa ruang-ruang terbuka dan merupakan faktor dominan yang dapat menciptakan sense of place. Namun berdasarkan analisis preferensi pengunjung, perubahan fungsi ruang terbuka juga diperlukan untuk memperkuat sense of place kawasan perkotaan. Fungsi ruang terbuka yang sesuai karakter pengunjung masa kini membantu pengunjung untuk merasakan setting fisik khas ruang terbuka perkotaan. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa sense of place tidak hanya dapat terbentuk dengan mempertahankan setting fisiknya saja, namun juga perlu dilakukan tinjauan terhadap preferensi manusia sebagai aktor yang berperan di dalamnya.

Abstract

The purpose of the service program to redesign the installation of clean water pipelines is to provide new installations and repair clean water distribution pumps that are able to distribute clean water originating from river water in the Toniku Village area so that the water distribution system runs more evenly, both to the reservoir and to the reservoir. the community directly. The implementation of the activity begins with an initial survey to see the condition of the artificial wells and water reservoirs that will be repaired where there are artificial wells installed on the banks of the river. Repairs to the pipe installation are carried out by replacing 2 4-inch pipes so that the flow of water that will enter the reservoir does not suffer losses or is wasted. The initial design before the change was that there were many pipe connections that were installed from the pump to the reservoir so that the water flowing into the reservoir experienced a lot of loss or wasted a lot. From the results of the field review, the electrical capacity to drive the pump is not sufficient because the type of electrical cable connected is not suitable or unable to drive the two pumps. Errors also occur in the installation of capacitors where the pump has a 40 F capacitor type but the one installed is 50 F. For the problem of electricity capacity, the village government has tried to coordinate with PLN to replace the power cable. Abstract

One of the implementations of PKM in 2021 carried out by the Mechanical Engineering study program is the manufacture of MCK, but the construction of MCK sanitation facilities to meet community needs has not been carried out due to the implementation limitations of the PKM program. Sanitation is one of the supporting programs in making MCK. The limited facilities and the behavior of people who use open spaces for defecating, bathing, and others will have an impact on aspects of public health. In this activity, a sanitation distribution from the existing MCK was built; hence water drainage and sewage of The  MCK are not polluted and will be maintained in terms of health. The problems of partners/communities in Takofi village are as follows; disposal of polluted MCK sanitation channels, lack of information about the importance of clean sanitation lines and supporting health aspects, and inadequate MCK sanitation sewer lines. Lack of knowledge of making MCK sanitation lines. The implementation of community service activities, repairing and building sanitation lanes for toilet disposal in Takofi village, Moti sub-district, was carried out for one day. Where the initial stage, the toilets were cleaned, which looked very dirty and were not functioning correctly. After cleaning, the next step is measuring and installing new installation pipes where the old network is no longer working correctly. This pipe installation is also related to another PKM program, namely repairing water wells as a water source to operate this MCK.
