Abstract

This study aims to develop a learning medium in the form of an e-magazine based on Discovery Learning integrated with Qur’anic verses, as well as to examine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving students’ learning outcomes on the respiratory system material for Grade XI. The method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The instruments used in this study included interview sheets and questionnaires. The results showed that validation by material, media, and Qur’anic integration experts indicated that the e-magazine was in the “very valid” category for use in learning, with a score of 97%. Students’ responses to the medium were categorized as “very practical” with a score of 91%, as were teachers’ responses with a score of 97%. Effectiveness testing showed an N-Gain value of 0.65, which falls into the “medium” category (moderately effective), indicating an improvement in learning outcomes after using the medium. In conclusion, this e-magazine is considered feasible and moderately effective for use as a biology learning medium, not only strengthening conceptual understanding but also instilling spiritual values through the integration of Qur’anic verses. Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the potential of coffee bean metabolite compounds as breast anticancer agents through a network pharmacology approach. The method used starts from literature study and PubChem database. Selection of compound eligibility was carried out with SwissADME using Lipinski's Rule of Five criteria. Protein target prediction was done through SwissTargetPrediction, while breast cancer target data was obtained from GeneCards and OMIM. Protein-protein interactions were analyzed with STRING and visualized using Cytoscape. Compound-protein interactions were analyzed through STITCH. The results showed that nine metabolite compounds from coffee bean met the pharmacokinetic criteria, with five main compounds showing anticancer potential is quercetin, oleic acid, linoleic acid, GCG, and PPARA. Protein interaction network analysis identified five central target proteins: IL6, TNF, AKT1, PTGS2, and ESR1. The compound-protein interactions suggest multitarget potential in the modulation of breast cancer-related molecular pathways. Keywords: Breast Cancer, Loranthus ferrugineus, Network Pharmacology

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop flashcards based on a scientific approach to the material of cell structure and function in order to improve student learning outcomes. The background of this research is the low interest of students in participating in learning due to the lack of interactive learning media which has an impact on low student learning outcomes. The research method used is R&D (Research and Development) research with the ADDIE model which has 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subjects in this study were 22 students of class XI IPA 2 at SMA Swasta Sinar Husni. Flashcards were validated by material experts and media experts and tested for practicality and effectiveness. The results showed that flashcards obtained a percentage of material validity of 84% (very valid) and media validity of 94% (very valid). Flashcards were also declared practical with a percentage of 93% (very practical) from teachers and 84% (very practical) from students. The effectiveness test with an N-Gain score of 0.88 (High) showed that there was a significant increase in student learning outcomes. In conclusion, flashcards based on a scientific approach to cell structure and function material can be declared valid, practical and effective and have the potential to support active learning in biology learning. Abstract

This study aims to develop a digital educational Game-based learning medium on the human reproductive system material to enhance students’ Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). The research method employed the ADDIE development model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were high school students studying the reproductive system. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, classroom observations, and tests to measure the improvement of students’ HOTS. The results showed that the developed digital educational Game has a high level of feasibility based on assessments from material and media experts. Its classroom implementation demonstrated improvements in students’ HOTS, particularly in the aspects of analysis, evaluation, and creation. In conclusion, this medium is effective as an innovative and interactive biology learning alternative that stimulates higher-order thinking skills. Abstract

This study aims to develop a Team Games Tournament (TGT)-based e-module on the human digestive system for 11th-grade high school students to enhance their critical thinking skills. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The participants were 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 16 Medan. Data were collected using expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments. The results indicated that the e-module was classified as highly valid (92% by content experts and 91% by media experts). The practicality test showed very high practicality scores from both teachers (97.75%) and students (94%). Furthermore, the effectiveness test, measured by an N-gain of 0.80, demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes. In conclusion, the developed TGT-based e-module is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ critical thinking skills in the study of the human digestive system.
