Abstract

This study aims to see the correlation between state policies and the increasing number of atheism in Turkey and Saudi Arabia. These two countries were chosen because they represent two countries with a majority Muslim population that apply Islamic law and treat atheism differently. Using LeDrew's trajectory to atheist conversion perspective, this study attempts to explore the correlation between the two. This study shows that both secular country and Islamic kingdoms have the same potential in the phenomenon of conversion to atheism. This is supported by various things that encourage them to be skeptical of religion such as women's issues, violence, discrimination, and so on brought by The New Atheist. The existence of social media assistance also helps atheists to declare themselves as atheists in cyberspace.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the relevance of Taufiq Ismail's poem "Qira'atul-'Alamat," which appears in a collection of poems titled "Turab Fawqa Turab." To reveal the poem's relevance, the meaning of the poem text must first be revealed through heuristic and hermeneutic readings within the framework of semiotic theory, which is a discipline that examines the signs on an object to determine the meaning described in it. These symbols can be found in the text "Qira’tul-‘Alamat" A qualitative descriptive method was chosen to reveal the results of this study. A qualitative descriptive method was chosen to reveal the results of this study. The results of this study revealed that the poetry data has meaning, indicating that humans should always be self-aware, interpret God's signs, and reflect on their actions, attitudes, and words. Man 'amila shaliha falinafsih, wa man sa-a fa'alaiha is thus the foundation of a true life. Humans have previously been shown signs of the presence of an event in order to plan alternative choices that are in compliance with religious teachings and life norms, in expressing words or thinking about, and implemented in everyday life.

Abstract

A leader is someone who is elected by the community for the common good. The concept of a leader includes not only those who hold positions in the government system, but also religious leaders.. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative analysis by describing the data in accordance with what it is then followed by analysis. The data collection technique is using listening and note-taking techniques. The results of this study state that the concept of an ideal leader must comply with three things, namely: 1) The leader must be wise making decisions, 2) the leader must defend the interests and unite the people, and 3) the leader must accommodate the aspirations of the people. While, the matrix in the text is the concept of an ideal leader who has a model of nurturing and embracing the community, and a variant in the form of a text related to ideal leadership. The potential hypogram found in the text is the same as the matrix, namely the concept of an ideal leader, while the actual hypogram, departs from the true story experienced by the author, where he grew and developed along with the outbreak of World War II, then in 1958-19865 went in and out of prison, and In 1982, the novel An-Nidaul Khalid was published. Keywords: Ideal Leader Concept, Semiotic, Riffaterre, Novel, Najib Kailani

Abstract

The ongoing war between the Saudi Arabian coalition and the Houthis has had a significant impact. The participation of Saudi Arabia and its coalition in the middle of the Yemen conflict has a pretext to save the democratically elected official government; however, some argue that Saudi Arabia's participation is more of a sectarian issue. The conflict that is still raging in Yemen at this time is considered very interesting to conduct research, in order to find the true background of the participation of Saudi Arabia and its coalition. Abstract

As a source of information, the media can have an influence on its readers, both positive and negative influences. The influence gained by the reader actually comes from the writer who consciously or not forms a certain point of view. As is the case with the news of Syrian conflict that has occurred for a long time. Through transitivity analysis, it is hoped that it will be able to provide an overview of how the media views the event. The purpose of this study was to determine the results of transitivity analysis which was able to describe the media’s point of view on a news story. The data sources used in this research are aljazeera.net and ahram.org.  The theory used to analyze the data is the three elements of transitivity from Halliday and Matthiessen, namely process, participant, and circumstantial. The results of this study indicate that there is a difference int the dominance of the use of the process between the two media. Al-Jazeera is more dominant in using material process and Al-Ahram is dominant in mental process. Both media portray participants from the same angle, namely to make Iran dan Rusia as active participants or actors.
