Abstract

Coliform merupakan salah satu bakteri yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit pada manusia dan dijadikan sebagai bakteri indikator keberadaan bakteri patogen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeteksi dan mengidentifikasi genera bakteri golongan Coliform dari sampel air minuman lidah buaya. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode random sampling.  Deteksi genera bakteri menggunakan media selektif dan identifikasi berdasarkan karakter morfologis dan biokimia. Hasil identifikasi diperoleh tiga genera bakteri golongan Coliform yakni anggota genus Escherichia, Klebsiella dan Citrobacter.

Abstract

The Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (LED) is a hematological examination which is a preliminary examination in establishing a patient's diagnosis. Many LED tests have factors that can affect the results, one of them is vibration. In some health service units, LED checks are carried out close to the Centrifuge, which has vibrations, for reasons of room efficiency. This study aims to determine the effect of Centrifuge vibration on the results of the Westergren method LED examination. The study was conducted with 6 repetitions. This type of research used is quasi-experimental with static group comparison design. The research obtained is presented in table form, followed by ANOVA test. ANOVA test gives a significant value of 0.305 which indicates that there is no significant effect by the vibration of the Centrifuge on the LED results with variations in the distance of 0.5m, 1m, and 1.5m

Abstract

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is decreasing kidney function to maintain metabolism balance, fluid, and electrolytes caused by glomerular inflamation, urinary tract infectons, and drug consumption. The severity of CKD at end stage of dialysis need to be done by removing the remaining water and improving the balance of water, electrolytes and protein. CKD patients are at risk to be malnutrition which caused by inadequate intake due to gastrointestinal disorders, decreased appetite due to nausea, vomiting, psychological factors and losses of protein in hemodialysis process. This study aims to determine the relationship between energy and protein intake with nutritional status based on MUAC for Age in patients with CKD on Hemodialysis in Dr. RSUD. Saiful Anwar Malang. This study used observational research using cross sectional design which involved by 31 CKD patients with hemodialysis therapy in the inpatient room of RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang by using purposive sampling. Nutritional status data based on MUAC for age was obtained through measurement of the patient's MUAC by metlin used.  Energy and protein intake were obtained by interviewing Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ). Univariate results showed that the nutritional status of respondents was malnutrition (54.8%) and normal (45.2%). Most of the energy and protein intake were in adequate category (48.8% and 37.2%). Bivariate test results which used Spearman showed there was significant positive correlation between energy and protein intake and nutritional status based on MUAC for age (p = 0.00; r = 0.787 and r= 0.64), so the more adequate intake, the better of nutritional status.

Abstract

Senyawa ester asam lemak digunakan dalam berbagai industri kimia, seperti industri kosmetika, pembuatan zat adiktif makanan, bahan zat antara industri farmasi dan sebagai substitusi bahan bakar diesel salah satu contohnya yaitu etil laurat. Etil laurat disintesis melalui proses esterifikasi dengan mereaksikan asam laurat dan etanol ditambahkan dengan H2SO4(p) sebagai katalis. Reaksi esterifikasi membutuhkan katalis untuk mempercepat reaksi dan mempengaruhi jumlah ester yang terbentuk sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh volume katalis H2SO4(p) terhadap sintesis senyawa etil laurat. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh variasi volume katalis H2SO4(p) terhadap hasil sintesis etil laurat. Variabel yang diamati yaitu variasi volume katalis H2SO4(p) (0,5 mL, 0,75 mL dan 1 mL) terhadap nilai derajat esterifikasi yang direaksikan selama 5 jam dengan perbandingan variasi rasio molar asam laurat dan etanol yang digunakan yaitu 1:7. Analisa data statistik yang diperoleh diuji dengan menggunakan uji Oneway Anova. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh variasi volume katalis H2SO4(p) terhadap hasil sintesis etil laurat. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa hasil sintesis terbaik diperoleh pada volume katalis H2SO4(p) 0,5 ml yaitu sebesar 94,20%. Analisis data statistika diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,000 (p < 0,05) yang berarti terdapat pengaruh variasi volume katalis terhadap hasil sintesis etil laurat.

Abstract

Blood type O has no antigens blood cells, but can produce antibodies against antigens A and B. Detection of blood group O antigen is currently based on the presence of H. Examination with anti-H was found from seed lectin Ulex, Ulex while living only in subtropical areas. Sesame is a member of Family Pedaliaceae thrives in the tropics. This study aims to obtain anti-O derived from biological sources Indonesia and determine the effect on a sesame seed extract agglutination reaction with blood group O. The research was conducted by the method of manufacture of dry sesame seed extract that has been done dilution with solvent concentration ratio is 1:2; 1:10, and 1:100 supernatant were subsequently taken. In making Ulex seed extract with a concentration of 1:10, further testing on the blood group of each seed extract concentration. Based on the research that has been done, the result that sesame seed extract is able to lyse erythrocytes in the blood group A, B, and O concentration ratio for all treatments and did not reveal any agglutination reaction in all treatments. Meanwhile, the Ulex europaeus seed extract can mengagglutinasi erythrocytes in blood type O. It can be concluded that the extract of sesame seeds can not be used as an anti-H replaces Ulex seeds, sesame seeds but potentially as an agent of hemolysis.
