Abstract

Backgrounds: Hospital waste management had become an international attention. One of the first meeting by Solid Hazardous Waste was related to domestic waste and medical waste. The previous study showed that nationally hospital solid waste expectedly reach 376.089 ton per day and the volume of wastewater was 48.985,70 ton per day. Aims: The purpose of this study is to examine the literatures on analysis of the cost effectiveness and efficiency hospital Wastewater Treatment Plant. Methods: This systematic review was based on Protocol Prisma. Literature searches were conducted using the electronic databases Google Scholar (2011 to present), SpringerLink, and Proquest.Over a total of 3.834 potential articles, 9 met all inclusion criteria. Results: Cost problems were founded due to there was no good financial planning, maintenance costs, and the wastewater quality supervision. The budget of wastewater treatment only focuses to the cost of damage, but only enough for one time laboratory examination. Moreover, we also highlighted another factors affected to effectiveness and efficiency where there was no regular training for sanitarian, and as the results, sanitarian cannot determine the best effective method, finally the budgets were only for authoritarian system. This paper also reviews methods and applications to reduce the cost in electrical, chemical, and maintenance, by new wastewater treatment alternatives. If compared the two techniques, extended aeration and sequencing batch reactors, evidently, sequencing batch reactor had lower cost than extended aeration. Conclusions: The cost effectiveness and efficiency of wastewater management can be achieved by good management systems, good knowledge about waste, and different methods result different efficiency too.

Abstract

Background: Child marriage has been proved resulting adverse outcomes for both groom and brides. Those who married before the age of 15, are more likely to have more than 3 children before they are 24 years old. This, along with the fact that girls are not physically mature enough to give birth, places both mothers and their babies at risk. This study aims to review factors that might influence decision making on spacing birth among child marriage couple in Indonesia. Methods: Data from Riset Kesehatan Dasar (Basic Health Research) of Indonesia 2013 were employed with additional several papers from other countries to strengthen the analysis. The theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) were used to explain that behavior is not fully under control of the individuals. Results: Girls aged of 15-19 were less likely to use contraception. Study shows the birth spacing was affected by attitudes toward behavior. The other factors are subjective norms, where people surrounding are influencing the birth spacing decision. Internal factor such as the affordability of the service may influence them to access the services. External factor such as the availability of the services will help them easier in accessing contraceptive for birth spacing. Conclusions: Child marriage trends are start to decline year by year. Yet, the impact of child marriage needs to be reduced to make a better quality of life of the child marriage. A good practice and positive attitudes to birth spacing will lower the adverse impacts to the brides, and it can give a better outcome for the children as well.

Abstract

Background: Childbirth is the culmination of a human pregnancy with the emergence of a newborn infant from its mother’s uterus. Factors that may extend or influence the duration of labor are uterine contraction, pelvic bone, pelvimetry, and presentation. Focusing on muscle control, breathing techniques, relaxation, and peace of mind, yoga played a key role in preparing the delivery process. Aims: The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship of prenatal yoga with the delivery process among mothers at Independent Midwife Clinic “Harti Mustaqim Suwono”, Semarang, Indonesia. Methods: The research method was correlative analytical with cross sectional approach. A total of 43 mothers who follow prenatal yoga in Independent Midwife Clinic “Harti Mustaqim Suwono” was involved in this study. Respondents were asked to fill the registration book for their visiting at the prenatal yoga facility, and their delivery process. The collected data was then analyzed statically using the Chi-square test. Result: Among the 43 pregnant mothers who registered yoga class at Harti Mustaqim Suwono clinic, the majority (81.4%) attended the class regularly, and 38 mothers experienced normal delivery. Among the mothers who join the class routinely, only 2.9% mothers were giving birth by cesarean section. The data shown the possibility requiring C-sections for delivery increased when the pregnant mothers skipped the class. From 8 mothers who not regularly presented in the prenatal yoga class, only 50% of them experienced normal delivery. The Chi-square test shows that the correlation between prenatal yoga and delivery process among mothers in Independent Midwife Clinic “Harti Mustaqim Sumowono”, Semarang, Indonesia, was significant (p value = 0.003). Conclusion: The results highlight that attending yoga class routinely will affect significantly to the delivery process. Mothers who practiced prenatal yoga are more likely to experience normal labor. The study suggested the needs of yoga practice during the pregnancy and childbirth.Â
