Abstract

A lot of energy consumed by large hotel buildings can affect the environment degradation in a long period of time. Every building plan, including hotels must consider an integrated balance in utilizing existing and limited resources based on low CO2 emissions. Excessive use of energy has a negative impact which increasing the amount of CO2 emissions. This research aims to determine the effect of energy efficiency to provide recommendations, which require significant reduction of energy and environmental degradation by minimizing energy use and CO2 emission. The method that used in this research are modelling, and simulate the energy use intensity and carbon emission using Sefaira as a Sketchup Software plug-in by simulating the existing design and provide a recommendation. The object that being used in this research is a hotel building that have 11 floor and 1 basement in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The result shows EUI of existing hotel building is 977 kWh/m2/year and carbon emission 1.872.042 kgCO2e/year. Comparing to the EUI standard which at the limit of 290–400 kWh/m2/yr. It is recommended to build additional window at the dismantled room area on north and south side of the hotel’s corridor. The recommended design, provides a reduction of EUI into 744,22 kWh/m2/year (31,28%). Meanwhile the carbon emission reduced into 1.467.072 kgCO2e/year (27,60%) from the existing design.

Abstract

This study observes the interaction between fluid flow and the solid particles using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) as a numerical approach with DualSPHysics platform and the flow assumed as a laminar flow with Re of 25, 50, and 100. As an approach study of internal piping erosion phenomenon, there are two types of pipes simulated, pipe with smooth wall and rough wall with different geometry and height of roughness. The geometry of roughness simulated are semi – circular ribs, triangular ribs, and rectangular ribs. The evaluated output of this research is the friction coefficient and velocity distribution occurring. In the case of flow through smooth wall, it is found that the increase of Reynolds number causes the decrease of friction coefficient. The next case of flow through rough walls shows that the height and shape of roughness affect the friction coefficient and velocity contour of the flow.

Abstract

It was Optimizing resources to analyze cost efficiency in implementing construction projects. One method that can be used for resource optimization is value engineering (VE). Value engineering (VE) as a management technique to determine the efficiency between the cost and performance of a product or project and stay on appearance, quality and maintenance. Then value engineering is applied to the construction of apartment buildings to get cost efficiencies from the initial budget planning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of value engineering in the construction of apartment buildings, especially in-wall installations. The VE method consists of five stages: Information stage, the creativity stage, the analysis stage, the development stage, and the presentation stage. Information stage, data collection in the form of cost planning, detail engineering design, work plan and terms. Based on the data obtained, the total contract value for the apartment building is Rp. 87,328,000,000. wall installation as one of the highest cost contributors. There are two alternative recommendations, namely sandwich panel walls and precast walls. The analysis found that the sandwich panel wall has the most efficient value, namely the total RAB value of 2.5% from the initial plan.

Abstract

Environmental pollution is a common problem that often affects an area. One of them is river pollution. River pollution also occurred in Peliatan Village. The condition of one of the rivers, namely the Mas River, was once used as a landfill or TPA. The role of the community in helping to overcome pollution problems is an initial step that can become a foundation in overcoming river pollution problems in Peliatan Village. In Bali, the existence of community groups is still closely felt, especially in overcoming and finding a problem. Local community groups have a major role in providing aspirations for the progress of their own region. The theory of community empowerment and community based development is the theoretical basis for implementing this research activity. The quality of the riverside space is measured from the indicators of the quality of the waterfront space according to Sutrisno (1997) and is presented descriptively. Research using qualitative methods with case studies and using observation and interview techniques. This method is used to be able to understand and discover phenomena in the field in depth. The results of the study showed that the condition of the river before handling river pollution was that its banks were filled with garbage and made into a landfill. The condition of the river afterwards is that the river becomes clean, orderly and made more attractive with the addition of wall carvings and sculptures. The reappearance of the bad debt tradition and visits from outside the area to Peliatan Village. The role of the community as the dominant role and in collaboration with the Service Village and Traditional Village. Contributions from local communities both in terms of ideas, ideas and material as an important capital in overcoming problems in their own area. This capital will be very useful for development in villages or cities.

Abstract

DKI Jakarta is a province in Indonesia that has the most significant regional budget (APBD). This has led to numerous infrastructure development projects funded by the regional budget in Jakarta. Most projects in Jakarta follow a traditional document tendering process, where procurement starts with the engagement of planning consultants to design a project. After the planning documents are completed, contractor and supervision consultant services are procured concurrently. This research aims to identify the factors that result in non-extension and non-payment of supervising consultants and to determine the potential dominant disputes in supervising consultant contracts due to contractor time extension addendums, particularly in projects within the regional government environment of DKI Jakarta. The aim is to minimize the impact of such issues in the future. This research is a combined study with a sequential form. The population of this research consists of building construction projects in the province of DKI Jakarta. The sample for this research is a sports arena construction project. The respondents in this study are the project owners and the supervising consultants associated with the research project. The data will be processed using a rating evaluation method, allowing for the relative comparison of the predetermined variable categories with each other. The provisions should be based on fairness between the contracting parties. The research findings indicate that supervising consultants are entitled to time extensions and additional fees for supervision during the extended period, due to the contractor's extension of the physical implementation time based on technical considerations. The feasibility of the extension proposal is assessed through research, and the results are documented in an addendum to the contract.

Abstract

The impact of urbanization is closely related to urban settlement problems. One of the government's efforts to solve the problem of housing needs for low-income people in densely populated urban areas is to build vertical housing or flats. The City Without Slums Program (KOTAKU) is one of the strategic efforts of the Directorate General of Cipta Karya, Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) to accelerate the handling of slums in urban areas and support the "100-0-100 Movement", namely 100 percent access to proper drinking water, 0 percent slums, and 100 percent access to proper sanitation. One of the efforts made by the Indonesian government in dealing with slum settlements is the implementation of the Cities Without Slums (KOTAKU) program. This study uses a qualitative research method that aims to understand the phenomenon of what is experienced by research subjects holistically. The results of the study show that from an economic perspective, the KOTAKU program is very well received by the community in the kelurahan environment, because the program includes a capital budget program for the surrounding community. Then in terms of environmental aspects, the KOTAKU program is here to provide solutions for the environment with road repair and drainage cleaning programs. Finally, from the social aspect, the KOTAKU program also has a positive impact on social relations in the urban village environment.
