During the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, changes in routine have affected students’ psychological development. This study aims to determine elementary school students’ mental health during the Corona Pandemic. The benefit of this research is as a basis for efforts to prevent and overcome unexpected psychological conditions in students. This research is a descriptive quantitative study using a survey method. The population in this study were 148 students aged 9-14 years. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire. This study used the Indonesian version of Strength and Difficulty Questionnaire for Children (SDQC) arranged by Robert Goodman. The result showed that the condition of the students was in the "abnormal" category which was indicated by a condition that was less good than the condition in general. There were 17 (11.49%) students in the abnormal category on the disruptive behaviour subscale, 11 (7.43%) students on the hyperactive-inattention subscale, 10 (7%) students on the emotional subscale, 5  (3%) students on the indifference subscale, and 2 (1%) students on the relation problems subscale. Overall aspects of measurement show that the students show a state of "abnormal" status in one or two aspects and it means that students have good mental health.

Abstract

Students who are passive in learning, get bored easily, have no interest in lessons, and do not explore what is being learned are indications of low student engagement. Student engagement is student involvement in learning both in the academic and non-academic fields which can be seen through behavioral engagement, emotional engagement, and cognitive engagement. One of the factors that influence student engagement is the perception of teacher support. This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of teacher support and student engagement in students of SMPN 4 Rengat Barat. The research subjects were 146 students. Data collection used a scale of perceptions of teacher support and a scale of student engagement. Data analysis used Pearson product moment correlation using SPSS 23.0 for windows. The results of the data analysis showed that the hypothesis was accepted, there was a positive relationship between perceptions of teacher support and student engagement among students at SMPN 4 Rengat Barat. Obtained a correlation coefficient (r) of 0.456 and a correlation significance value of 0.000 (p <0.001), which means that the level of perceptions of teacher support was related to student engagement.

Abstract

There are several problems in the learning process where students are forced to do learning at home. It impacts students' reading and writing literacy which is still low. This study aims to analyze the effect of Learner Autonomy and Agile Learner on the independence and literacy of elementary school students. The type of research used is a quantitative approach with the Ex-Post Facto method. The population was 159 students, using the non-probability sampling technique so that the research sample amounted to 51 students. The data collection method used in this study was a questionnaire. The data collection instrument is in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used in this research is the quantitative analysis and inferential statistics. The results of data analysis, namely the results of the t-test, are obtained in the coefficients table, which is 3.366, so learner autonomy directly affects student independence. The results of the t-test, obtained in the coefficients table, are 30.446 so that Agile Learner does not directly affect students' metacognition awareness. The coefficients table shows 30.446 showings 0.313, so Learner Autonomy does not directly affect literacy. The coefficients table shows 0.613. So Agile Learner does not directly affect students' literacy. The coefficients table shows 1.68, so independence directly affects students' literacy. It was concluded that students' Learner Autonomy was in a low category, students' Agile Learners were in a low category, students' independence was in the high category, and students' literacy and literacy were in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between parenting styles and parental education levels on students' mathematics learning outcomes. This type of research is ex post facto. The population of this study was all fourth-grade elementary school students. Samples were taken using the proportional random sampling technique with a sample of 78 students. Data were collected by filling out a parenting style questionnaire by students who were the sample in the study. In contrast, data on parents' education level and students' mathematics learning outcomes were obtained through document recording. Data were analyzed by regression analysis technique. Regression analysis prerequisite tests include normality, linearity, and multicollinearity tests. After the prerequisite test is met, the next step is to test the hypothesis using simple regression, product-moment correlation, and multiple regression. The hypothesis testing results show a relationship between parenting styles and mathematics learning outcomes, there is a relationship between parents' education level on learning outcomes, and there is a relationship between parenting styles—parents’ education level on mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

The problem of this research is the variation in student social studies learning outcomes. There is a tendency caused by two factors: learning motivation as an internal factor and parenting as an external factor. This study analyzes parents' learning motivation and parenting styles on students' social studies learning outcomes. This type of research is Expo facto research. The population is 49 students. The population was taken using a saturated sample (study population). Data were collected using questionnaires and document recording. Data were analyzed by regression analysis technique. The prerequisite test for regression analysis and hypothesis testing uses simple regression, product-moment correlation, and multiple regression. The results showed a real and positive relationship between parenting styles and social studies learning outcomes. This was indicated because the R-count (0.449) > from r-table 5% = (0.233) was significant. Simultaneously, it was found that there was a relationship between learning motivation and parenting styles on social studies learning outcomes. It can be seen that r count 0.740 > r table 0.233 as well as based on the results of testing with the F test (simultaneously) with = 5% then it can be seen that the learning motivation and parenting styles of parents are simultaneously significantly related to social studies learning outcomes. The research implications are related to the second problem, namely the relationship between parenting styles and students' social studies learning outcomes.
