This study aims at investigating the role of grand-parenting in early childhood education in the South Bali tourism area. This study implemented qualitative research method through phenomenological approach. Observation and interview were conducted to collect the data. Five subjects were selected through purposive-theoretical sampling, with the following criteria: (1) Hindu grandparents in the traditional village of Legian, (2) live and raised in the traditional village of Legian, (3) having grandchildren who study in early childhood education, (4) active and directly involved in parenting. The result of study revealed that grandparents have several roles in early childhood education, including: affection, education, social support, religious and cultural values. Self-monitoring is required to maximize the fulfillment of parenting. The implementation of grandparenting is influenced by the cultural value system (Tri Kaya Parisudha) as a nurturing foundation in shaping children's character. These concepts are inseparable from the implementation of grandparenting in Legian traditional village

Haze is a seasonal disaster that continues to recur in several parts of Indonesia. Mitigation as an effort to reduce risk needs to be done to anticipate more losses. Individual risk perceptions in assessing the impact of haze are considered as factors that influence mitigation efforts, however, mitigation is also related to external situations related to individual dependence on the authority that is more authorized in disaster situations, in this case, the medical authority. Trust in medical authorities is considered to mediate the relationship between risk perception and smoke haze mitigation. This study aims to look at the role of trust in medical authorities in helping individuals to perceive risk and seek mitigation. The research sample was 234 affected people, using purposive random sampling. Data were collected on three scales, mitigation scale, risk perception and trust of medical authorities. Research shows that the trust of medical authorities is not able to mediate the relationship between perceived risk and mitigation haze, but risk perception and trust in medical authorities simultaneously contribute to efforts to mitigate the smoke haze in Riau.

The purpose of this research is to descriptively identify parents’ perception of subjective well-being in children with ADHD. Qualitative research method was performed with a sample of 18 parents (15 mothers, 3 fathers). Data analysis was using thematic analysis. The results of this study indicate that children with ADHD in general, based on the perceptions of parents, show that children with ADHD are generally not wellbeing, but there are those who claim to be well-being and some say that some are sometimes well-being and other times they feel less wellbeing. Children feel wellbeing when their needs are met, they get environmental support, there is no negative stigma. Children feel less well-being because of the lack of acceptance of the child's condition, the existence of a negative stigma, the child still behaves negatively, and their needs are not fulfilled. Parents play a role in helping optimize children's well-being by conditioning the environment, children and parents themselves, and surrendering to God to better suit the needs of children with ADHD.

Liberman and colleagues (1999) argue for the importance of investigating attachment relationships among peers, as they play a crucial role for individuals from adolescence into adulthood. Markiewicz, Doyle, and Brendgen (2001) demonstrated the important link between attachment style and friendship quality, noting that secure attachment predicted perceptions of friendship quality. This study looked specifically at the associations between attachment, communication and the quality of relationship shared between friends using four different questionnaires; Attachment Style Questionnaire (ASQ) by Feeney, Noller & Hanrahan, (1994), Bartholomew and Horowitz’s (1991) Relationship Questionnaire, Communication Functions Questionnaire (CFQ) by Burleson & Samter (1990), and the Network of Relationship Inventory- revised by Furman & Buhremester, (1992).

Parent involvement is a concept which includes children’s education. Research and theories suggest that parent involvement can predict children’s achievement goal. The aims of this research is to know whether parent involvement can predict the children’s achievement goal. Yogyakarta high-school students (185 males and 379 females) were selected to fill in two questionnaires which assessed both their perceptions of parent involvement and the students’ achievement goals. SEM analyses showed that the model was fit to explain the correlation between parent involvement and achievement goal. Results of this study revealed that parent involvement is a predictor of students’ achievement goals. Parent involvement had an indirect effect on mastery goals and performance goals also in approach and avoidance. Parent involvements’ effect on performance is higher than the effect on mastery. Parent involvements’ effect on approach is higher than the effect on avoidance. Implications of these findings for students’ achievement goal and academic achievement are discussed.

Teachers’ belief is an element that influences teachers’ decisions in their activities in the classroom. Researchers have formulated theories to conceptualize teachers’ knowledge and a fundamental belief in their teaching and developed methods to unpack them. ’Bumpy moments’ has been indicated as a potential method to uncover teachers’ belief in their natural setting. This study aims at developing an understanding of primary school teachers’ beliefs which underlie their decision in their classroom setting. The research used bumpy moments as a method. One primary school teacher who participated in this research were videotaped while she was teaching. The researchers and teacher watched their recorded teaching and the teacher was interviewed by using unstructured interview protocol. The research question was answered by running qualitative research to the primary school teacher. The research demonstrated that there are teacher beliefs held by the teacher. This can be seen in 1) beliefs in experience and ability in using media and methods in teaching, 2) beliefs in good teaching skills because understanding the students 'emotional dynamics in class and understanding the students' thought processes in learning, 3) beliefs in experiences in learning pedagogical knowledge in teaching. Bathing skill was an important skill that should be possessed by intellectual disability children so that they become independent. The result of preliminary study indicates that mothers of the intellectual disability did not have knowledge and skills in teaching children’s bathing skill so they often help their children to take a bath. Based on the matter, it requires a guide to improve mothers’ knowledge and skill in teaching bath skill for intellectual disability children. This research is aimed to perform the validation of MENTARI guide through content validation with professional judgment and empirical validation which uses one-group pretest-posttest. Wilcoxon’s Signed Rank Test was utilized to test the score difference between knowledge and skill of teaching intellectual disability children to take a bath themselves. Nine mothers who have intellectual disability children become the participants. The research result indicates that MENTARI guide was contently and empirically valid. The guide has also satisfying content validity (Aiken’s V= 0,80-0.98). The data analysis which utilizes Wilcoxon’s Signed Rank Test indicates that there was an increase of score of bathing teaching knowledge and skill with Z =-2,670 and p<0.05 for knowledge score and Z value = 2,670 and p< 0.05 for bathing teaching skill score.
