Abstract

Supply chain efficiency evaluation is a strategic approach for organizations or business to have competitive edge in today's global market, whre it is more a competition od supply chain rather than competition of products. Time to market, customer satisfation and capital/income of the supply chain are some of the key efforts that show the efficiency of a supply chain, which determines the success of a product or organization. THe exaggeration of the performance of a supply chain is a problem of the evaluation. This exaggeration often leads to wrong forecast and shortfall of improvement. In this study a modified data envelopment analysis (DEA) model is employed to evaluate the efficiency of pharmaceutical companies in India from a pessimistic point of view. The pessimistic piont of view is considered because the worst case scenario gives management room to prepare for such events. India's pharmaceutical industry is undergoing a shift in business model according to [12] to comply with the product patent regime from 2005, this evaluation point out the weak efficient and highly inefficient Decision Making Units (DMUs), in this case twenty-nine pharmaceutical companies. A comparison is made between the efficiency of Banker, Charnes Cooper (BCC) model with modified DEA model to highlight the DMUs that are exaggerated. In addition, the weight distribution of the ten inputs and outputs used are analyzed to suggest resource allocation for performance improvement of ineffienct pharmaceutical companies.

Abstract

This study considers a stock area selection problem (SASP) of an automotive company which includes limited space. The SASP of the company consists of alternative locations which have different technical features and some specific criteria to select the locations. The aim of the problem is to find best stock areas from the alternatives that will be constructed. In order to solve the SASP of the company four different approaches are taken into account where each approach integrates a fuzzy multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method within a preemptive goal programming (PGP) model. The main difference between the proposed approaches is the fuzzy MCDM methods used in the solution procedure where the considered methods are a fuzzy AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) method, a fuzzy TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Situation) method, a fuzzy PROMETHEE (Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation) method, and a fuzzy VIKOR (VlseKriterijumska Optimizacija I Kompromisno Resenje in Serbian) method. Each solution approach consist of two stages where the alternatives are evaluated with respect to qualitative criteria by using fuzzy MCDM methods, and then PGP model is operated for quantitative criteria and the alternative scores obtained in the first stage. As a result of the computational application of the proposed solution methodology, the best alternatives are selected to construct in the company by comparing the results of four solution approaches.

Abstract

The petroleum industry provides the largest source of energy needs across the global world. As a result many economies are heavily influenced by the petroleum industry. The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has a significant market share and strives to influence crude oil pricing to help support their interests. Recent trends in the petroleum industry have seen the influence of OPEC diminish. The extent to which OPEC can influence the crude oil market as well as the motivations behind their decisions are explored in this research. Evidence is presented that OPEC does not meet the strict definition of a cartel but they still have an impact on the market. Their actions have components of profit maximization and political motivations. When OPEC makes a decision to alter production levels, particularly with a cut or maintain position, it has an overall impact on crude oil pricing. Dramatic swings in crude oil pricing, referred to as oil price shocks, have macroeconomic impacts on stock markets and other economic measures both domestically as well as globally. Predicting future oil prices is challenging. This paper looks at various methodologies used in trying to explain and forecast future crude oil prices.

Abstract

This research responds to the call for more studies to validate a comprehensive model incorporating mobile Internet and other information channels to investigate their effects within the search process. Using 104 Chinese outbound tourists as the sample, this study investigates how they utilize multiple sources for trip planning. The research findings indicate that mobile-based search actions have been undertaken step by step: internal search mobile search preliminary collaborative TIS saving information summarizing information. Two search patterns were identified by using other information sources: 1. mobile Internet advanced collaborative TIS editorial communications; 2. mobile Internet PC Internet editorial communications. In spite of the studys limitations in relation to generalizing the results, this study presents new avenues for further research.

Abstract

Currently, rattan raw material price is not stable because its price is influenced by the difficulties encountered in rattan raw materials distribution from the upstream to the downstream. Establishing a distribution model will help to improve Indonesian rattan distribution policy within the framework of the dynamic system. It also restores rattan market condition into the mechanism of rattan trading so that rattan businessmen will be more independent and be able to set their own trading system. It is expected that through this policy, they will experience a fairer and more competitive rivalry in this rattan industry.

Abstract

The study entails impact on operational performance (OPER) of small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) by using supply chain management (SCM) and information system (IS) practices in Saudia Arabia empirically. Moderation investigation of Supply Chain Management and Information System link promoted factors and impeding factors in implementing Supply Chain Management and Information System applies and OPER also taken in to account in the second part of the research. In the current study, underlying dimensions of SCM and IS practices are also empirically identified, and enabling and inhibiting fators related to SCM-IS are also identified at the first stage. Regression analysis was used for estimation of studying impact of variables on OPER and SMEs in the second phase of the research. Comparative results discussion have taken place in Saudi context at the end of the research. The study significantly contribute while considering and evaluating literature, acquire and analyses of collected data about Supply Chain Management and Information System implementations in Saudi Small and Medium Enterprices.

Abstract

This study examines the link between corporate social responsibility and consumer purchase intention by focusing on the mediating role of corporate reputation and the moderating role of peer pressure. The results of distinctive data from 378 consumers of Pakistan reveal that corporate reputation positively relates to consumer purchase intention, and that corporate reputation fully mediates the positive influence of corporate social responsibility on consumer purchase intention. We also found that peer pressure moderates the relationship between the corporate reputation and consumer purchase intention. Furthermore, the mediating effect between corporate reputation and consumer purchase intention is moderated by peer pressure, that is to say moderated mediation. We discuss implications of these findings for research and practice.
