Abstract

Green School Festival and Adiwiyata award are the government's efforts to build the character of the nation's next generation for improving the quality of the environment based on education, participation, and sustainability. The application of green building principles in school buildings is equally important to support environmental quality improvement. Therefore, this study is focused on evaluating the fulfillment of green building criteria at Adiwiyata Mandiri Elementary School in Malang City. The analytical descriptive qualitative research method was carried out in this study by taking the object of study at SDN Tunjungsekar 1 and SD Insan Amanah Malang City. The results showed that the fulfillment of the green building criteria at the Adiwiyata Mandiri Elementary School in Malang City has not been optimal in fulfilling the principles of green buildings, both related to site management, energy efficiency, water, materials, improving the quality of indoor health and comfort, also building environmental management.

Abstract

The use of active open space is one way to improve the value of environmental quality to be more optimal. It could be seen that RT. 06 RW. 05 Penanggungan Village, Malang, had an active open space in the form of contoured land that was not functioning properly. For this reason, the purpose of this study was to utilize this active open space as a forum for religious and social activities in Al-Hidayah Musalla (Islamic prayer room). The research method employed was a qualitative descriptive method with the object study approach of Musalla (Islamic prayer room) design concept. The results of this design concept were optimized for limited land use through function and space efficiency as well as optimization of green space on steep contoured land in the form of vertical gardens so that the existing land could have functioned optimally as active and contextual land with the surrounding environment.

Abstract

According to Government Regulation No. 14/2016, every housing and settlement area is required to provide facilities and infrastructure and public facilities. However, in Sidomakmur Baru Complex, the developer has provided the facilities only in the form of empty land that has not been adequately processed and serves only as a water catchment area. The land will be very potential if processed into a place that can accommodate more functional community activities, such as processing its function as a Citizen Hall and Playground for children. Manage the function of the land while maintaining its previous function as a water catchment area. The method used in this activity was field observation and advance plan and a participatory action research strategy. In terms of design, the main focus is to have a decent architecture while still paying attention to the surrounding environment.

Abstract

With a population of 11,200 people, Harjokuncaran village still has a reasonably high poverty rate accompanied by a low majority of education levels. This condition can be seen from the educational facilities and environment, especially in early childhood education institutions. One example is in PAUD Tunas Bangsa 02 as the study object in this research. Data collection was carried out by field observation and direct interviews. The collected qualitative data are sorted by content analysis, displayed using the data display method and presented in data grouping. This qualitative research stage was only limited to the Preliminary Survey. At this preliminary stage, the research will only focus on obtaining data, include regional conditions, spatial, and physical and social characteristics data. These three types of data will be used as initial data in determining the next research process in the future.

Abstract

The conceptual design of recycled micro library in RW 9 Kelurahan Merjosari is a part of ongoing partnership with the residents of RW 9 Kelurahan Merjosari. The existence of this library is expected to be a common space for residents, especially children, to interact and learn collectively. The design method used on this research is the design process method starting from the assimilation stage, general study, development, and communication. This micro library design applies a recycled design principle for the selection of its materials and main structure, and it is in line with sustainable landscape concept in macro context. Additionally, the design acts as public generator by providing participatory space for its users through the application of a green wall that can be assembled and developed as needed. The main green wall is made through a re-use of plastic bottle with green plants insertion. Light steel, hollow and recycled teak pallets are used for the main structure, panels, and furniture.
