The history of the Journal Journal of Secretary and Business Administration (Henceforth JSAB) is established in June 2017. It is created as a medium for practitioners, lecturers, and researchers interested in studying the disciplines of secretary and business administration, both in theory and practice. It is published twice a year that is in February and August. Due to the technical issues, the first publication was in October 2017. Yet, for the upcoming publication, it will follow the regular schedule.

Abstract

This study examines the brand attitudes of smartphone user. In particular, it examines how users self-image congruence can affect their brand attitudes towards smartphone products. Previous research indicates that self-congruence can facilitate positive behavior and attitude towards products. This research used cross-sectional survey explanatory method and structural equation modelling approach to test the hypothesis. A questionnaire was sent to 200 smartphone users in Bandung. Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out the proposition value for Sumber Rizqie Abadi’s (SRA) customers, to find out the customer’s perceptions and expectations, to find out the result of value adjustment with customer’s perceptions, and to find out the value proposition’s role for SRA. This research is descriptive with qualitative approach. The techniques of collecting data are interview, observation, and documentation. This study implements design canvas value proposition taken from Alexander Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur to determine value proposition. This has the purpose to show the adjustment between value map from SRA and customer profile from SRA’s segment. Therefore, the result of the adjustment is able to reduce the gap from SRA’s value and customer perceptions value map as SRA’s area have three parts namely products and services, gain creator, and pain relievers. Meanwhile, the customer profile as the costumer’s area also has three parts, specifically jobs, gains, and pains. The results indicated that there are some gaps between the customer’s perceptions and SRA’s value. The gaps among others, the product quality same as the specification, the completeness of goods, supplying the industry needs, saving the money for building a dwelling, delivering the products to customers, and the products just available in SRA.

Abstract

Established Law No. 5 of 1999 on the prohibition of monopolistic practices and unfair business competition can not be separated from IMF pressure on the Indonesian government on the government to combat monopolistic practices and unfair business competition that occurred in Indonesia by immediately enacting the legislation. The purpose of this study is analyzing the telecommunications industry price war that occurs between the Telkomsel operator and Indosat Ooredoo against unfair competition. The method used in this research is descriptive method of analysis. Data used are secondary data. Results of analysis showed that Indosat Ooredoo trying to overthrow the corporate image Telkomsel in their campaign fare Rp. 1,0 and Telkomsel operator also negotiate interconnection prices unfair to Indosat Ooredoo. Abstract

This study investigates the common errors exist in the English report abstracts authored by the fourth semester students learning at a secretarial academy. The purpose of the study is to improve the outcomes of the abstracts written resides in an English report writing course. 95 abstract documents are categorized and analyzed using the frameworks from James (1998) and Richards (1974), then, interpreted descriptively using descriptive statistics. This is conducted under the umbrella of qualitative research method particularly a case study. The results demonstrate that, first, there are found several types of errors such as tense, missing word, passive and active voices, subject and verb agreement, misspelling, runs on sentence, capital letter, unnecessary word, punctuation, and incorrect use of word. Second, errors classified as grammatical categories are dominating the errors occurrences. Third, errors considered as lexical taxonomies become the least errors to happen. Fourth, the causes of errors identified are interlanguage, intralanguage, and negligence of the students when writing an English abstract. Implication for the development of abstract writing in an English report writing course is the discovered errors in the present study should be the main concern to be improved by the student writers.

Abstract

The intention of purchasing green products is the desire or expression of one's intention to commit to activities that support environmental friendliness, green purchase intention is influenced by several factors such Ecological Knowledge and Ecological Affect is everything related with the expression of emotions on the environment with a correlation of 3 factors: attention to self, concern for others, and attention to the environment. The research method used in this research is the Survey method, while the type of research uses Causal Asosiative research with the indicator of the research level of consumer knowledge to the environment, the level of consumer affection to the environment, consumer interest towards the purchase of organic plants and the increase of local potential for organic plants in Bandung.The method of analysis used is multiple linear regression analysis is known to obtain the value Fcount 38.4196> F_tables 3.03 it can be interpreted that simultaneously factor-fator Ecological (Knowledge and Affect) have a significant influence on Green Purchase Intention. Based on the identification of Ecological factors and its effect on Green Purchase Intention, it can be seen that the influence of local potential increase in Bandung is t_count value 11, 160> t_table 1,683 because t_hitung> t_tabel it can be explained that Green Purchase Intention has an effect on increasing the Local Potential of Organic Plants in the city of Bandung. Green purchase intention (X1) and local potential (X2) on food security in Bandung can be shown from the calculation coefficient of determination as follows by 0.46 That is, green purchase intention (X1) and local potential (X2) 46 % in increasing food security of green vegetable production (Y). while the remaining 54.0% is influenced by other factors that are not included into the research model. Abstract

Choosing expedition partner has been becoming a crucial issue for those who are running retail business in this digital era. Having the right partner in expedition to work with can be another competitive advantage for the company itself. In this era, almost every transaction would be done online, therefore the meeting between sellers and buyers is no longer necessary in some cases; but still the trust between them must be maintained. Choosing the right expedition is one of the ways to maintain that trust. The right expedition partner here will be defined as those expedition company who can guarantee to deliver product faster (on schedule), cheaper for the service price and also easy to be contacted. Tanah Abang itself is the biggest market in Jakarta. This place has been chosen as the object for the research because the sellers here are actively selling product both offline and online. Descriptive approach has been used for the research methodology. Data are generated from questionnaire and interview. All data that have been gathered will show the number of seller or trader who is actively purchase expedition services in a week. Besides that, it is cleared seen which and why such expedition company leading the market.

Abstract

The development of information technology nowadays encourages users to use the software appropriately so that commercial software can be maximally empowered that contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the job. To support its work, users use Microsoft's Microsof Excel Office Automation System worksheet commonly used by end users for clerical, repetitive and independent work. Microsoft Excel applications are generally used for office worker, clerical computation and users generally use only a portion of the features of some features owned by the application. In this case, the user can maximize the ability of Excel by creating an interactive pseudo database using only Microsoft Excel, so users can organize data with automated database schema. Abstract

Quality of public service is one of the criteria that can be used as a tool to measure the success of good governance in carrying out its duties. On the contrary, the public satisfaction with the service given by the apparatus has influenced the empowerment policy and the performance of the administrative village itself. It means that the level of community satisfaction has an impact on the empowerment of community groups and neighborhood groups (known as RT/RW) and village apparatus performance in carrying out its duties and functions in West Bandung Regency government. This research aims to determine the influence of: (1) Empowerment of RT/RW apparatus (X1), (2) Village apparatus performance (X2), (3) Satisfaction of public service (X3) on Community service satisfaction (Y). This research categorized as a descriptive research applying the explanatory survey method and structural equation model (SEM) with partial least square (PLS) alternative technique equipped Smart PLS 3.0 software to test the hypothesis. The results suggest that the empowerment of RT/RW apparatus and village apparatus performance is an important factor in the satisfaction of public services. In other words, the satisfaction of public service cannot be separated from the empowerment of RT/RW and village apparatus performances, either partially or wholly.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Satisfaction terhadap Advocacy pada merek lokal dengan Loyalty sebagai mediator (Studi pada The Executive). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan analisis data deskriptif dan kausal, responden yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 100 konsumen yang pernah membeli produk The Executive. Data yang terkumpul dari 19 item pernyataan kuesioner kemudian diolah menggunakan IBM SPSS 24 dengan teknik analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa satisfaction berada pada posisi angka 74,71% dengan kategori baik, loyalty berada pada posisi angka 69,67% dengan kategori baik, advocacy berada pada posisi angka 72,35% dengan kategori baik, satisfaction berpengaruh signifikan terhadap loyalty sebesar 60,68%, loyalty berpengaruh signifikan terhadap advocacy sebesar 21,43%, satisfaction berpengaruh signifikan terhadap advocacy sebesar 13,76%, dan satisfaction berpengaruh terhadap advocacy melalui loyalty sebesar 36,10%. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the shares of Stock Index LQ 45 members that form the optimal portfolio when used Single Indeks Model. The method used in this research is descriptive method of analysis. Data used are secondary data. Sampling in this research is purposive sampling, Sample is determined by criteria that these stocks are in a row included within Index LQ-45 for the period of observations. Results of analysis showed that using Single Indeks Model are selected to form the optimal portfolio the period January 2013 – July 2016 is there is a combination of four stocks is a leading and shaping the portfolio. Fourth shares were PT. Gudang Garam Tbk (GGRM), Cenral Bank Asia, Tbk (BBCA), Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI), and Perusahaan Gas Negara (Persero) Tbk (PGN).
