Abstract

The consumerist behavior often experienced by college students can hinder their ability to manage their personal finances. Factors such as financial knowledge, attitudes toward money, and lifestyle are believed to influence financial management skills. This study aims to analyze the influence of these three factors on the financial management of students in the Economics Education Study Program at the University of Jember. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method, where data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that financial knowledge and attitudes have a positive influence, while a consumerist lifestyle has a negative impact on financial management. These findings highlight the importance of financial literacy programs and appropriate financial attitude training to reduce consumerist behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Merdeka Curriculum in economics subjects using the Kirkpatrick model at SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. This study uses primary data where data is collected using a questionnaire and uses secondary data where data and information are needed by reading books, data from the internet, theses, or dissertations and previous research. This study was conducted on teachers and students at SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan, where 3 teachers and 235 students were the samples in this study. The results of the analysis show that the evaluation of the reaction, learning, behavior, and result stages contributed to the merdeka curriculum in economics subjects at SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. Where, the evaluation of the learning stage has the highest contribution among the other evaluation stages to the merdeka curriculum program. Meanwhile, the evaluation of the behavior stage has the lowest contribution among the other evaluation stages to the Merdeka Curriculum program. This research provides insights from a program evaluation perspective, demonstrating that the Merdeka Curriculum contributes to improving the quality of classroom learning. Abstract

Education plays a significant role in shaping the ideal future of society. Despite the immense benefits of education, achieving success in the field of education certainly requires significant effort. This study aims to analyze the influence of parental support, teacher roles, and school environment on students' academic achievement at SMAN 8 Malang and SMAS Panjura Malang. This research uses a quantitative approach with the multiple linear regression method. Data collection techniques used questionnaires distributed to 188 students as a sample, determined using the Slovin formula. The t-test results show that at SMAN 8 Malang, no variable significantly affects students' academic achievement. However, at SMAS Panjura Malang, the school environment variable significantly influences academic achievement with a negative direction. This illustrates that although the school environment has an influence on students' academic performance, the quality of that environment is not yet optimally supportive. Meanwhile, parental support and the role of teachers in both schools did not show a significant influence. This finding confirms the importance of building synergy between school authorities, teachers, and parents in creating a conducive learning environment to support students' academic achievement.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyse the marketing strategy of the mobile coffee brand Briling in Palangka Raya using the Segmenting, Targeting, and Positioning (STP) approach. The research used a descriptive qualitative method and was carried out for three months. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The informants included the business owner, several employees, and consumers, supported by operational records from 24 mobile cart locations. The findings show that Briling’s market segmentation includes young adults aged 20–35, urban areas with high mobility, practical lifestyles, and purchasing patterns that occur during peak hours. The target market focuses on university students and young office workers, as this segment is large, growing, cost-efficient to reach, and suitable for the business’s capacity. Briling is positioned as a practical and accessible mobile coffee provider with a consistent taste, affordable prices, and modern cart designs. The application of the STP strategy proves effective. It helps Briling retain loyal customers, attract new buyers, and strengthen its competitive advantage among mobile coffee businesses.

Abstract

This research is based on the lack of creativity and entrepreneurial innovation among students. This condition indicates that the theoretical knowledge acquired has not yet been fully applied into practical skills, mainly due to limitations in capital and resources, as well as challenges related to market acceptance of innovative products. This research aims to analyze the role of entrepreneurship education in enhancing students' creativity in generating new business ideas and applying them innovatively. This research provides empirical evidence regarding the success of entrepreneurship learning based on the Independent Entrepreneurship Program in shaping young entrepreneurs who are adaptive and innovative. This research uses a qualitative research method with a narrative approach. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews with 12 student participants of the Independent Entrepreneurship Program, class 2 of 2023. Data analysis is conducted through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Research results show that entrepreneurship education in the Independent Entrepreneurship Program plays a role in enhancing students' entrepreneurial creativity and innovation, such as generating unique business ideas, creatively utilizing resources, and developing innovative marketing strategies. Student innovation also increases through the introduction of technology, team collaboration, and mentor guidance.

Abstract

Our adolescents today live in a digital ecosystem that allows them to conduct financial transactions without limits of space and time. Online games, e-wallets, and shopping platforms have become part of their daily lives. A recent viral case of an elementary school student who spent hundreds of thousands of rupiah on online game vouchers—triggering parental anger toward the cashier—illustrates how children’s financial decisions can occur rapidly, without time to pause and think, and without adequate parental guidance. Various studies also show that low financial literacy, the ease of cashless payments, and massive digital promotion contribute to impulsive buying behavior among adolescents. This article aims to describe the concept of PICIS as a simple family-based program to stimulate critical thinking skills in financial decision-making among adolescents aged 12–18 years. The method used is a literature review on critical thinking, adolescent financial literacy, and digital consumption behavior, combined with the design of a home-based program grounded in reflective practice. The review formulates the PICIS steps, which include: *Pahami dulu* (Understand first), *Informasi lengkap* (Gather complete information), *Cek konsekuensi* (Check the consequences), *Izin hati dan orang tua* (Seek inner and parental approval), and *Sikapi dengan bijak* (Respond wisely). Each step is mapped onto components of critical thinking, namely organizing information, analyzing options, evaluating consequences, and using information to make more responsible decisions. It is concluded that PICIS has the potential to become a practical framework for parents to transform “wanting to shop” moments into opportunities to practice critical financial thinking, while also opening avenues for future research to empirically test the effectiveness of this program. Keywords: critical thinking; adolescent financial literacy; digital financial decision-making; family program; digital consumption
