Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of MS0 medium density on maize in vitro seed germination. The sample used in this study is corn kernels from local variety (Zea mays L. var. ?Lokal?). This research was an experimental research with a quantitative method approach. The study used a Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) with one treatment factor that is medium density MS0 with a degree of agar concentration are 4 gram, 6 gram, 8 gram and 10 gram each concentration repeated 3 times. Data analysis uses the One Way Analysis of Variant (ANOVA) test and if it shows significant results, test continued to BNJ test (Beda Nyata Jujur). The best growth results occur at low level medium density (agar 4 gram) based on parameters days of emerged buds, plant height, number of roots, number of leaves and wet weight of corn plantlets. Uji ANOVA showed that  F value calculated 41.333 bigger than F value table that is 4.07 with significance level 0,05. This result shows that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The results are continued with the BNJ test. BNJ test obtained significantly different results on germination of corn kernels in all treatments. The wet weight of corn plantlets has a high influence on the organs (roots, stems and leaves) of plants. If the wet weight is high, the plant growth is significant and vice versa.

Abstract

The potential of  Moringa tree related to health properties is still not fully utilized by the people in Pati. Mrs. Muryati, a resident of Kedungbulus Village, Gembong Subdistrict, Pati, was one of the residents who was moved to campaign for the use of Moringa leaves. The purpose of this study was to determine public perceptions about the potential of Moringa plants in the village of Kedungbulus Gembong Pati. This research uses survey methods which include: literature study, field observations, interviews using questionnaires, semistructure interview techniques and using random sampling techniques and purposive sampling. Random sampling sampling from the community taken randomly, while purposive sampling sampling from community leaders such as informants of production houses, village heads, shamans etc. The results obtained from the relationship between community and Moringa plants are explained from interviews with the public perception of  Moringa plants.

Abstract

The increasing length of toll roads on the island of Java also increases the number of green lane that can be used for greening. One of the functions of the green road is for planting carbon-absorbing plants. Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) trees are a type of productive plants that have a carbon sink function. The purpose of this study is to estimate the carbon stock of a model of planting on the green lane of the Semarang-Solo toll road. This research was conducted in September 2019. The method used in this study is simulation calculation and allometric models. Calculation simulation method is used to determine the potential availability of land along the green lane of the Semarang-Solo toll road. Carbon reserve calculation method is done by nondestructive sampling by using an allometric model for the tamarind tree species. The application of this model can produce estimates of stored carbon stock approximately 197.165 ton. Green lane has a very large utilization potential for carbon sequestration and should be used optimally.

Abstract

Chrysanthemum including ornamental plant commodities are much-loved community. Chrysanthemum has a high economic value and potential to be developed. The diversity of morphological and anatomical characters is not currently widely practiced. This study aims to determine the morphological and anatomical characteristics of C. morifolium Ramat. var. puspitanusantara, and var. tirtaayuni and C. indicum L. var. mustikakaniya. Sampling by purposive random. The study was conducted in May - June 2017 in Kenteng Village, Bandungan District, Semarang District. The results showed that the results showed that C. morifolium Ramat var. puspitanusantara and var. tirtaayuni and C. indicum L. var. mustikakaniya have variations of morphology, especially on leaves and flowers, variations in leaf organ form, and base. Variations of flowering organs include the number of flowers per stem, the number of ribbon flowers, and the freshness of the flower. Anatomical characters based on tissue arrangement of stem and leaf organs have similarities.

Abstract

Indonesia has a strategic geographical area with high biodiversity potential, it is located in the equatorial region which causes Indonesia have a tropical climate. The biodiversity of forests in Indonesia includes ferns. Nail plants can be found with a variety of types in various environments, especially in shady areas such as forests. Ferns are plants that have an important role in the forest ecosystem as a source of germplasm. Besides that, ferns also have the potential as a source of food and medicine for the Penggaron Forest, or who is familiarly called the Penggaron Tourism Area, is one of the natural tourism objects located in Semarang Regency, precisely in Susukan Village, Ungaran District, Semarang Regency. This study aims to identify the species of ferns in the Penggaron Forest. Data collection techniques used in identifying plant ferns are: 1) orientation and exploration of locations; 2) gathering ferns by exploring along the main road to the location of the campsite; 3) record and document the ferns found in the field. The results of the identification of ferns in the Penggaron Forest there are 2 families of ferns consisting of 23 species of plants. The Scizaeaceae family consists of 4 types of plants namely Lygodium flexuosum, Lygodium japonicum, Lygodium palmatum, and Lygodium circinatum. While the Polypodiaceae family consists of 19 types namely Nephrolepis hirsutula, Nephrolepis biserrata, Dryopteris scotii, Adiantum, Adiantum raddianum, Mickelopteris cordata, Pteris ensiformis, Pteris asperula, Pteris biaurita, Pteris vittata, Adiantum, Adiantum raddianum, Mickelopteris cordata, Pteris ensiformis, Pteris asperula, Pteris biaurita, Pteris vittata, Adiantum, Adiantum raddianum, Mickelopteris cordata, Pteris ensiformis, Pteris asperula, Pteris biaurita, Pteris vittata crenata, Tectaria angulata, Tectaria maingayi, Tectaria heracleifolia, Pleocnemia irregularis.

Abstract

Baturraden Botanical Garden (KRB) is a conservation area both ex-situ and in-situ of various plants in the Slamet Mountain area. KRB plays a role in saving various types of plants, one of which is the type of bamboo in the area is rarely updated data. This study aims to inventory which is used in evaluating data on the number and types of bamboo that are in the KRB collection. The study uses descriptive qualitative methods which include exploration, morphological observation, and measurement of environmental factors. Based on field data collection, 40 bamboo specimens were obtained in 17 species, of which there were 7 specimens from 5 species that have not been identified while 33 other specimens belong to 12 different species and 8 genera. The eight clans are Bambusa, Cephalostachyu, Chimonobambus, Dinochloa, Gigantochloa, Melocanna, Schizostachyum, and Semiarundinaria. Schizostachyum caudatum Backer ex K. Hene, Melocanna baccifera (Roxb.) Kurz, Bambusa multiplex (Lour.) Raeusch. ex Schult. is the most commonly found bamboo. Morphological observations included roots, reeds, leaves and midribs. Environmental factors of the Baturraden Botanical Gardens in VAK III.B.I and VAK III.B.II meet the requirements for the growth and propagation of bamboo collections.
