Abstract

Circular No.36962/MPK.A/HK/2020 it was decided that online learning and working from home are for breaking the chain of the spread of covid19. The application of the online teaching and learning system is a means of proving the professional competence of librarians as a link of information between information sources and information users. The library law number 43 of 2007 states that a librarian is someone who has a competence. Based on several problems that exist in the online learning system in universities, especially at the Raden Intan State Islamic University Lampung (UIN-RIL), this paper raises a problem formulation, namely How Library Strategies Support Online Learning at Raden Intan State Islamic University Lampung. The method used in this research is qualitative with qualitative descriptive type. This study also reveals attitudes, events, relationships and views that occur in a scope of respondents. This study places more emphasis on the results. This study uses observation and interviews to strengthen the research analysis. Discussion of Library Service Transformation consists of Online Catalog, Circulation thru Service and Institutional Repository, Digital Promotion Information Communication and Mobile Library. Success in learning during a pandemic cannot be separated from the role of libraries and librarians in preparing strategically in providing library collection information or alternative sources of information.

Abstract

Reading activities cannot be separated and are very essential with students because reading is the most important activity in students’ lives and activities. Unfortunately, currently, student’s reading interest looks very minimal. The student’s low interest for reading can be seen from the number of visits in each campus library. However, one of the factors causing the low interest in reading is advances in information technology. With advances in information technology, students prefer to find information quickly rather than precise information. In general, this study aims to see and describe the influence of digital libraries on reading interest of students in the library and informa- tion science study program at Padjadjaran University. From this research, it is known that the factors causing the declining quality of reading interest are physiological, intellectual, environmental and psychological factors. With the existence of a digital library, it is expected to increase students’ reading interest. This research uses a litera- ture study method from related references and data collection is carried out using a qualitative approach. The level of interest in reading a nation greatly determines the quality of human resources, while the quality of human resources greatly determines the development of a nation.

Abstract

The college library is one of the collection services provided by the college to obtain information. In conducting information search, there are several information search behaviors. This study examines student information seeking behavior in the collection service of the Padjadjaran University FMIPA Library in the digital era. Information seeking behavior has a very close relationship with information seeking, because then information can be obtained. The purpose of this study was to determine the information seeking behavior of the Unpad FMIPA library collection service through six stages and to determine the relationship between information seeking and information seeking behavior. The research method is qualitative with observation and interviews. This research method was conducted on three Unpad FMIPA students and one Unpad FMIPA librarian. The model used in this study consists of six stages, namely start- ing, chaining, browsing, differentiating, monitoring, and extracting. The result of the research is that students who need information have carried out the six stages well, namely students understand the information needed before starting a search, and are able to identify reference sources in searching for information, students use search information tools and their support- ers. the device with the help of lib.unpad.ac.id, can determine the forms and sources of relevant information that can be used, as well as identify search keywords, and make observations on information relating to their needs. And the last stage students choose information according to their needs and which are considered important. After going through the stages of searching for student information effectively, quickly, and precisely in finding the sources of information needed, especially gathering information at FMIPA Unpad.

Abstract

Covid-19 has now spread rapidly throughout the world, many impacts have oc- curred since the existence of Covid-19 in various sectors, especially in the education sector. In Indonesia, many school children find it difficult with the policies issued by the government regarding the implementation of online learning because of the limited media to support the learning process. For this reason, media such as digital libraries are needed as a source of knowledge and student learning so that the teaching and learning process can run optimally. The purpose of this study is to find out digital library research in school libraries in the Covid-19 era through analysis on digital library activities in school libraries, research methods used in research, and also the type of school library. The author uses a narrative literature review research method using several references obtained from the Google Scholar database with a range of publications from 2013 to 2022. The results of this study indicate that digital library activities in school libraries are very useful in the teach- ing and learning process during the pandemic and many schools who designs and develops a web-based digital library. As for the analysis of the research methods on the references studied, many of them used descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. Then the type of school library used is based on references, namely using a website-based digital library or application. Digital libraries can support the online learning process and can be accessed anywhere and anytime.

Abstract

With the rapid changes in technology, the world’s needs for generational growth are getting increasingly intense. A superior generation necessitates a competent level of education accompanied by improved literacy skills. Schools, as educational institutions, should encourage their pupils to develop a literacy culture. The school library, as an information shelter institution in schools, should also contribute to the development of a literacy culture by providing multiple access points that children may easily ac- cess. As a result, this study was conducted to determine the role of the school library at SMAN 2 Cirebon in the development of a literacy culture among students. The research method used in the study is a descriptive qualitative method combining an interview and direct observation research method. The information obtained will be supported by research in the form of library research, which will use relevant library data to identify and describe in detail service activities at SMAN 2 Cirebon’s school library and the literacy program that has been implemented. According to the results of this study, the school library at SMAN 2 Cirebon has contributed in the development of a literacy culture among students. The literacy program that has been implemented in the school environment had a positive impact on students and encouraged them to read. The literacy program implemented by the school is deemed to be more effective because of the availability of quality services supplied by the school library. However, it is very unfortunate that the library has not digitized the library.

Abstract

The development of information technology-based services that are currently carried out by school library managers must of course be balanced with the skills of managers in the field of using information technology devices and the ability to manage management in school libraries. These skills are very much needed considering that managing an organization such as a library requires a high focus and being able to innovate the services that are managed so that the dissemination of information products can be carried out optimally. Departing from the problems experienced by many school librarians, the initiative to conduct community service emerged with the main idea of school library management at various school levels. Community service is carried out to assist school library managers in understanding the process or workflow of school library management appropriately, while also providing understanding and skills in terms of service development, use of library information systems and other developments regarding the use of library information systems that can be used. optimally in the process of disseminating library information. The target of community service is the manager of the school library in general and members of the Pamekasan ATPUSI in particular for those who do not have a library educational background. This community service activity is carried out within a month divided into 4 sessions or parts with each session driven by lecturers whose knowledge is linear with the material presented. The PKM participants are more than 50 people, most of whom are school librarians, and a small number are university librarians. PKM activities went well from start to finish, participants also received rewards in the form of electronic certificates containing the amount of training time that the participants had undergone which was certainly useful as a support for their performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the meaning of cataloging, analyze the processing of library materials, and carry out cataloging activities on library materials at Tanda Baca Pustaka Library Tangerang Regency. This research also discusses about Taman Bacaan Masyarakat (public reading park),, Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC), bibliography, and Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS). This research used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection techniques used in the research were literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. The object studied was the processing of library materials at the Tanda Baca Library in Tangerang Regency, and the subject or informant was the manager of the Tanda Baca Library, Muhamaad Jaenudin. The results of the study show that the Tanda Baca Library has not processed its library materials. Researchers then carried out management activities by cataloging existing library materials using SLiMS. The process carried out is to enter various information on library materials in the bibliographic menu in SLiMS. From this process, the author managed to catalog 26 copies of books with 25 titles. Suggestions from researchers, Tanda Baca Pustaka Library can process its library materials so that the library is better managed and continues to grow. Tanda Baca Pustaka Library is also expected to continue to be processed, and managed properly because its existence is very beneficial for the surrounding community, especially children and teenagers.

Abstract

The focus of this research is to determine the digital literacy ability of the blind disabled. Every citizen has the right to equality, easy access to information. This equality of rights is often constrained by the fact that the ease of access to information is not simply enjoyed by all people, as people with disabilities, especially those with disabilities, need special efforts and separate ways to improve their digital capabilities. Limitations do not prevent people with disabilities from enjoying and being able to access internet freely. Many digital literacy programs for the blind have been initiated by institutions, one of which is SLB-A Aisyiah, Ponorogo Regency. The purpose of this research is to determine the level of digital literacy ability of Aisyiah SLB-A students. The method used is descriptive quantitative with sampling using non-probability sampling, namely “a sampling technique that provides equal opportunities for each element (member) of the population. The population of this study was Aisyiah’s SLB-A students as many as 34 students at the junior high school level (SMP) and the senior high school level (SMA). The population is at the same time a sample or saturated sample. Analysis of the research data using statistics with the presentation of data through the formula mean and grand mean. “The mean is used to calculate the average value of the variables while the grand mean is used to calculate the total average. The main study is the assessment of digital literacy skills according to KOMINFO RI. The results showed that the digital literacy level of SLB-A students reached an average of 3.2 in the medium category. The first includes basic knowledge of conversational applications and social media which are categorized as high with an average result of 3.4. Second, is basic knowledge about information search engines, how to use and select data, the average is 3.25 in the medium category, the third position is basic knowledge about the digital landscape – internet and cyberspace, reaching 3.16 in the medium category, the average position is 3.16. the lowest average is basic knowledge about digital wallet applications, market stores, and digital transactions reaching 2.99 with less category
