Komunikasi ilmiah menjadi trend baru baru bagi dunia perpustakaan. Meskipun jika ditelaah komunikasi ilmiah bukanlah hal baru dalam dunia perpustakaan perguruan tinggi karena perpustakaan sudah terlibat di dalamnya. Komunikasi ilmiah merupakan proses komunikasi pencipataan karya tulis ilmiah, review, publikasi hingga diseminasi informasi kepada masyarakat ilmiah. Perpustakaan dalam dunia komunikasi ilmiah telah terlibat dalam proses penyediaan informasi untuk penciptaan karya ilmiah, penghimpun dan penyimpan hasil karya penyerbarluasan informasi hasil karya ilmiah. Namun merupakan sebuah tantang apabila pihak perpustakaan dapat berpartisipasi aktif dalam prosesnya seperti sebagai media publikasi dan reviewer karya ilmiah. Maka untuk dapat aktif dalam ranah tersebut, dibutuhkan pustakawan yang handal, adaptable serta memiliki passion untuk bergelut dalam komunikasi ilmiah. Tentunya untuk dapat menjadi apa yang dibutuhkan pustakawan harus memiliki komptensi dasar untuk dapat menjadi scholarly communication librarian. Oleh karenanya dibutuhkan kerja keras dan kemauan yang besar untuk bisa menjadi scholarly communication librarian sehingga dapat meningkatkan prestise profesi ini.Scholarly communication is a new trend for the library world. Although if examined Scholarly communication is not new in the world of college libraries because the library has been involved in it. Scholarly communication is the process of communicating scholarly papers, reviews, publications to the dissemination of information to the scholarly community. Libraries in the world of scholarly communication have been involved in the process of providing information for the creation of scholarly works, compilers and store of the work of disseminating information from scholarly works. But it is a challenge if the library can actively participate in the process such as the media publication and scholarly work reviewer. So to be active in this domain, librarians who are reliable, adaptable and have a passion for Scholarly communication are needed. Of course to be able to become what is needed by librarians must have basic competence to be able to become a scholarly communication librarian. Therefore it takes a lot of hard work and willingness to become a communication librarian scholarly so that it can increase the prestige of this profession.

Kepemimpinan merupakan sebuah kegiatan yang dilakukan seseorang untuk mempengaruhi orang lain atau kelompok untuk menyetujui dan menyepakati sebuah inisiatif atau gagasan demi pencapaian tujuan bersama. Kepemimpinan juga tidak akan lepas dari sebuah hubungan atau interaksi antara pemimpin dan orang-orang yang dipimpinnya. Dalam hal ini kepemimpinan mempunyai peranan menentukan sebagai satu kekuatan atau kewibawaan dalam menghimpun dan menggerakkan segala sumber daya di dalam kerjasama antara pemimpin dan bawahannya. Pemimpin dengan integritas menginspirasi keyakinan diri dalam diri orang lain karena mereka bisa dipercaya untuk melakukan apa yang mereka katakan akan mereka lakukan. Pada dasarnya, integritas membuat seorang pemimpin dapat dipercaya dan layak mendapat kepercayaan sehingga didalam perpustakaan dapat menimbulkan suasana yang baik, nyaman, informasi yang disajikan dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh para pemustaka.

The management of scientific journals in order to achieve national accredited scientificjournals requires an effective and efficient Journal Management and ManagementSystem. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendayagunaan alat bantu seleksi bahan pustaka oleh para petugas perpustakaan dalam kegiatan pengembangan koleksi. Lokasi penelitian ini di perpustakaan pusat Universitas Padjadjaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Untuk pengumpulan datanya dilakukan melalui wawancara, pengamatan lapangan dan studi kepustakaan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa 1). Untuk prosedur penyeleksian bahan pustaka dimulai dari berbagai saran, masukan baik lisan maupun tertulis yang masuk ke bagian layanan sirkulasi, layanan referensi maupun layanan majalah. 2). Penggunaan alat bantu seleksi oleh petugas perpustakaan pusat Universtas Padjadjaran belum berjalan secara optimal, artinya dari beberapa alat bantu yang tersedia saat ini alat bantu yang dipergunakan hanya yang berupa katalog penerbit, daftar katalog dalam media internet seperti amazon. com, 3). Alasan pihak perpustakaan pusat Universitas Padjadjaran dalam menggunakan beberapa alat bantu seleksi tertentu seperti katalog penerbit dan katalog dalam media internet yakni faktor kemudahan dalam penggunaan alat bantu tersebut, 4) hambatan perpustakaan pusat Universitas Padjadjaran dalam menggunakan alat bantu seleksi yaitu keterbatasan jumlah tenaga dan kurang lengkap alat bantu seleksi khususnya untuk seleksi bahan pustaka berupa majalah dan bahan non buku.This study aims to determine the utilization of the library material selection tool by the librarians in the collection development activities. The location of this research is in the central library of Padjadjaran University. The method used in this study used a qualitative approach to the type of case study research. For data collection is done through interviews, field observation and literature study. Based on the result of research known that 1). For library selection procedure begins with various suggestions, input both oral and written into the circulation services, reference services and magazine services. 2). The use of the selection tool by the librarian of Universtas Padjadjaran University has not run optimally, meaning that from some tools currently available the tools used only in the form of catalog of publishers, catalog list in internet media such as amazon.com, 3). The reason of the library center of Universitas Padjadjaran in using certain selection tools such as catalog of publisher and catalog in internet media that is factor of easiness in the use of the tool, 4) constraint of library of University of Padjadjaran in using selection tool that is limited of number of manpower and less complete tool Aids selection, especially for the selection of library materials such as magazines and non-book materials.

Islamic library has been exist in the classical era, precisely during the reign of Umayyad dynasty. The type of library in this era is private library and owned by Khalid Ibnu Yazaid, a semi-public library owned by Khalifah and official, the public libraries is mosque library. The civilization is the result of a genius nation’s. This has been generally recognized. Islamic civilization is the result of Muslims, as well as Western civilization which now shows its glory as well as the result of Western genius. The genius of a nation does not seem to be born and developed without support, hard effort and adequate means, one of the most important tools in this regard is the library. The establishment of the library is a re actualization the awareness of Islamic scientist in improving the intellectual potential of Muslims, especially among students and observers of science. This article tries to explain about the relevance of Islamic library development in classical century, the causal development of Islamic literature between East and West and the role of libraries in the delivery of information.

Persepsi Mahasiswa Terhadap Sistem Unggah Mandiri dan Akses ETD Repositori di Perpustakaan UGM Yogyakarta Machsun Rifauddin; Arfin Nurma Halida

Repositories in Higher Education have a very important role. In addition to storing scientific work produced by students, the repository also serves to improve the ranking of Webometrics in order to realize World Class University. Therefore the policy of repository development must be done properly by considering the aspect of its users. This study aims to explain the students’ perceptions of independent upload system and ETD access repository in UGM library. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach with data retrieval technique using interview and completed with document. Data analysis is done by data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing. The results show that self-propagation policies and ETD access repository are considered to be very precise according to the perception of users, since the need for electronic information is increasing. The policy must be done to create open access in order to realize the excellent service in the library. Independent upload systems and ETD access repositories can improve their evectivity and efficiency as students can upload and access their final assignments from anywhere and anytime. It also provides security and convenience for students because the files that have been uploaded are stored in the system and can be downloaded or requested to the library whenever needed.Repositori di Perguruan Tinggi memiliki peran yang sangat penting. Selain untuk menyimpan karya ilmiah yang dihasilkan oleh mahasiswa, repositori juga berfungsi untuk meningkatkan peringkat Webometrics dalam rangka mewujudkan World Class University. Oleh karena itu kebijakan pengembangan repositori harus dilakukan secara tepat dengan mempertimbangkan aspek penggunanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap sistem unggah mandiri dan akses ETD repositori di perpustakaan UGM. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengambilan data menggunakan wawancara dan dilengkapi dengan dokumen. Analisis data dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menjukkan bahwa kebijakan unggah mandiri dan akses ETD repositori dinilai sangat tepat menurut persepsi pemustaka, mengingat kebutuhan terhadap informasi elektronik saat ini semakin meningkat. Kebijakan tersebut wajib dilakukan untuk menciptakan open acces dalam rangka mewujudkan pelayanan prima di perpustakaan. Sistem unggah mandiri dan akses ETD repositori dapat meningkatkan evektifitas dan efisiensi karena mahasiswa dapat men-unggah dan mengakses tugas akhir mereka dari mana saja dan kapan saja. Selain itu juga memberikan keamanan dan kenyamanan bagi mahasiswa karena file yang telah di-unggah tersimpan didalam sistem dan dapat di-download atau diminta ke perpustakaan ketika sewaktu-waktu dibutuhkan.

This paper aims to explain the development of promotional products in Library elementaryMuhammadiyah Condongcatur, through the creation of library bulletins.In this study, the authors aim to explain the six stages in the implementation of thisprogram: 1) analyze user needs, 2) build partnerships, 3) develop activities and resources,4) implementation of promotion, 4) evaluation. The results of this study isa bulletin product that can be used as a library promotion tool and as an activity toincrease interest in reading and writing for all school civitas. The program in this studyneeds to be addressed as there are many other elementary school libraries to developpromotion at the primary school level.
