Abstract

Candida albicans yeast is a normal microflora of the human body are pathogenic if the amount is excessive and decreased immune system. In general infections caused by C.albicans called candidiasis. People use ginger rhizome (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) for traditional treatment of various diseases including disease whitish and sprue. Research purposes  to test the ability of ginger rhizome extract antifungal against C. albicans. This study was conducted in August 2016 until October 2016 held at the Laboratory of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Integrated Laboratory PGRI Palembang University. This study uses a completely randomized design  with six treatments using ginger rhizome extract concentration and performed four replications for each treatment. From the research that has been conducted shows that the methanol extract of ginger rhizome has the ability antifungal against Candida albicans in vitro, a concentration of 10% methanol extract of ginger rhizome produce inhibition zone diameter of 16.2 mm.Keywords: Extract, ginger rhizome, antifungal, Candida albicans.ABSTRAKJamur Candida albicans merupakan mikroflora normal tubuh manusia bersifat patogen jika jumlahnya berlebihan dan daya tahan tubuh menurun. Secara umum infeksi yang disebabkan oleh C.albicans disebut kandidiasis. Masyarakat memanfaatkan rimpang temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) untuk pengobatan tradisional berbagai penyakit diantaranya keputihan dan sariawan.Tujuan penelitian untuk menguji kemampuan antifungi ekstrak rimpang temulawak terhadap C. albicans. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Agustus 2016 sampai dengan Oktober 2016 bertempat di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi dan Bioteknologi, Laboratorium Terpadu Universitas PGRI Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 6 perlakuan konsentrasi ekstrak rimpang temulawak dan dilakukan 4 kali ulangan pada tiap perlakuan. Dari penelitian yang telah dilakukan didapatkan bahwa ekstrak metanol rimpang temulawak mempunyai kemampuan antifungi terhadap Candida albicans secara in vitro, konsentrasi 10% ekstrak metanol rimpang temulawak menghasilkan diameter zona hambat sebesar 16,2 mm. Kata Kunci: ekstrak, rimpang temulawak, antifungi, Candida albicans

Abstract

This paper reports the results of the study of vegetation types on the peat swamp after fireing in the Kedaton Village. Research was conducted between April  till Decembre 2013. This research was carried out  using survey method. Sample was taken by purpossive sampling in transect. Data and information gathered included community structure are density, frequency and important value index, selected soil and water quality. Results of the study get 4 types of vegetation growth, are under plants, seedling, sampling and tree. Cyperus rotundus was dominant species on under plant type, Shorea sp was dominant species on seedling type and Dyera lowii was dominant species on sapling and trees type.Key words : peat swamp, vegetation type

Abstract

Rebo fishing gear is classified as a type of fishing gear that produces lots of fish. The problem on rebo  fishing gear is low selectivity on catch product. This condition has caused the catching product dominated by small fishes. The objective of this research is to know the kind of fishing product and fishing rate of rebo. The research used field observation method through interview and direct observe on February, April, July and September 2016. Fishing activity used rebo where wooden branches are placed on the edge of middle of the shallow River and arranged in the bottom  waters with an area of 7.5 to 300 m2, then the surfaceof the waters and then put water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes). The research shown the fishing rate of rebo is 28.4 – 48.5 kg/day, 36.9  kg/day for average. The fish production have highest fishing rate than shrimp fishing rate. The fishing rate of fish is 23.28 kg/day or 63%, and fishing rate for shrimp is 12.94 kg/day or 35%, and fishing rate of baycatch product (buntal, snake, baby crab, and cucumber sea) are 0.92 kg/day or 2.48%. Biomass proportion of fish have dominated by Lundu fish (Mystus sp) with 20.66 %, the shrimp dominatede by Galah shrimp (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) with 7.11%. ABSTRAK Alat tangkap rebo tergolong jenis alat tangkap yang banyak menghasilkan ikan. Permasalahan pada perikanan rebo adalah rendahnya selektivitas alat tangkap ini terhadap hasil tangkapan. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan hasil tangkapan didominasi ukuran kecil. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hasil tangkapan dan laju tangkap rebo. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode observasi lapangan melalui wawancara dan pengamatan langsung terhadap hasil tangkapan rebo yang beroperasi di sungai muara Batun. Pengamatan lapangan dilakukan bulan  Februari, April, Juli dan September 2016.  Kegiatan penangkapan menggunakan alat tangkap rebo dimana ranting kayu diletakkan di tepi atau tengah Sungai yang dangkal dan disusun di dasar perairan dengan luas 7.5 hingga 300 m2, kemudian dipermukaan perairan lalu diletakkan eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa  kisaran laju tangkap rebo  28.4 – 48.5 kg/hari, rata-rata 36.9 kg/hari. Hasil tangkapan ikan memiliki laju tangkap lebih tinggi dibanding laju tangkap udang. Rata-rata laju tangkap ikan  23.28 kg/hari atau 63 %, laju tangkap  udang 12.94 kg/hari atau 35 %, dan laju tangkap sampingan yang dibuang 0.92 kg atau 2.48 % dari total laju tangkap. Proporsi biomas hasil tangkapan ikan didominasi ikan Lundu (Mystus sp) 20.66% dan udang didominasi udang Galah (Macrobrachium rosenbergii)  7.11%. Kata kunci : rebo, laju tangkap, sungai muara, Batun

Abstract

Research on the effect of compound fertilizer on plant growth celery (Apium graveolens L.) has been implemented in October 2014 - February 2015, in plantations 16 Ulu Village, District Seberang Ulu II Palembang. This study aimed to determine the effect of compound fertilizers to celery plant growth and to determine at what dose the average total folium and plant fresh weight. The method used was completely randomized design (CRD), consists of six treatments and four replications. The dose used is A0 (without control), A1 (0.5 grams), A2 (1 gram), A3 (1.5 grams), A4 (2 grams), A5 (2.5 grams). Research results showed that administration of different doses significantly affect of total folium and celery plant fresh weight. The higher the dose applied, the better the plant growth. Best doses indicated in the treatment of A5 (2.5 g), which gives the average total folium 3 (strands) and wet weight of 1.7 grams. Key words: Compound Fertilizer, Apium graveolens L. Growth

Abstract

An experiment was conducted in order to evaluate the effect of differentfertilizer regimes on biological productivity and water quality of limed acid sulfatesoils fishponds. The experiment consisted of 4 different fertilizer treatments i.e.,control without fertilizer input, chicken manure 50 g/m2 /week, chicken manure 75 g/m2 /week, and inorganic fertilizer (6 g of urea + 3.5 g of TSP /m /week), eachtreatment with 3 replications. Result of experiment shows that Inorganic fertilizationgave the highest chlorophyll a concentrations (83.40 mg/m3), and the highest net fishyields 7.53 kg /ha /day), but had a lower water pH than that in control. Ponds whichare fertilized with chicken manure 75 g /m2 /week gave the highest fish survival rate(100%) while in ponds without fertilizer inputs only 3.3 % of stocked fish wassurvived.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to find a suitable dose of ab mix for pagoda mustard plant, has been carried out on Jalan Sukakarya, Sukarami, Palembang. The trial was conducted in October to December 2019 who have used a perfectly randomized design method is a single factor group with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Each treatment consisted of 3 plant so there was 20 and a total of 60 plants. This was the dose of AB mix fertilizer (D), namely D1 = 850 ppm, D2 = 1050 ppm, D3 = 1250 ppm, D4 = 1450 ppm, and D5 = 1650 ppm. The observed parameters were plant height, root length, and wet basis, measured at the end of the study. The results showed that the highest yield of D3 treatment was obtained at root length and plant wet basis respectively of 15.77 cm and 149.97 g and the highest yield of D4 treatment was obtained on plant height parameters of 12.91 cm, and the lowest yield was very significant in D5 respectively 9.24 cm, 9.57 cm and 112.50 cm

Abstract

A specimen of Dempo Paris Peacock Papilio paris dempo Okano, 1988 (Lepidoptera: Rhopalocera: Papilionidae) has been caught and collected on 5 February 2020 in lower Dempo mountain, South Sumatra province, Indonesia. This butterfly was preserved for a scientific purpose, and the specimen deposited to biological museum of Department of Biology of Sriwijaya Unversity, with collection number Musbio/En/Coll.02.05022020. After preserved, the specimen was immediately identified using selected references. Recent finding of P. paris dempo is a rediscovery for this rare and endemic butterfly in  its habitat after 32 years break (1988 to 2020). Based on this specimen, status of P. paris dempo is revisited.

Abstract

Angka Partisipasi Sekolah (APS) merupakan proporsi jumlah anak sekolah pada suatu jenjang pendidikan tertentu dalam kelompok usia yang sesuai dengan jejang pendidikan tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memprediksi angka partisipasi sekolah selama tiga tahun kedepan, sehingga angka prediksi ini dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif pertimbangan pengambilan keputusan baik bagi pemerintah maupun selain pemerintah yang berkaitan langsung terhadap pendidikan demi terjadinya peningkatan mutu pendidikan di Provinsi Banten. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode numerik yaitu interpolasi lagrange berbantuan software Matlab R2013a untuk mendapatkan hasil prediksi angka partisipasi sekolah (APS). Dari penelitian ini, setelah diperoleh model prediksi APS, maka selanjutnya diprediksi APS tiga tahun kedepan setelah tahun 2019. Hasil prediksi yang didapatkan setelah dilakukan simulasi yaitu pada angka partisipasi sekolah usia 13-15 tahun didapatkan hasil prediksi untuk tahun 2020, 2021, dan 2022 secara berturut-turut yaitu 96,76; 97,63; dan 98,51. Pada angka partisipasi sekolah usia 16-18 tahun didapatkan hasil prediksi untuk tahun 2020, 2021, dan 2022 secara berturut-turut yaitu 69,11; 69,51; dan 69,90. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan angka partisipasi sekolah dari tahun-tahun sebelumnya.

Abstract

Graphs that have odd harmonious labeling properties are called odd harmonious graphs. The purpose of this study to obtain a new graph class construction with its properties, but also to prove that the new graph class has odd harmonious labeling properties. The research  method  used  consisted  of  several  steps  namely  data  research  preparations, research  investigations and  verification  of results. The  results  of  this study,  we  will provide a construction of a new graph class, that is, the pleated net snake graph and its properties.  Furthermore,  it  will  be  proven  that  the  pleated  net  snake  graph  has  odd harmonious labeling properties, so that the pleated net snake graph is an odd harmonious graph.

Abstract

Semi Ex-Situ Habitat (HSE) Pond is a pond that is designed for spawning native fish in Lake Maninjau, particularly in Bada fish (Rasbora argyrotaenia) in semi ex situ condition. This study aims to determine the benthic macroinvertebrates colonization in HSE ponds. The source of the water came from Lake Maninjau and the springs nearby. The study was conducted in August, October, and November 2018. Benthic macroinvertebrates samples were taken from some artificial substrate stainless steel- wire mesh (the size are 20 cm x 20 cm, mesh size 30), which was placed at the bottom of the ponds for 20—30 days. The result shows that there are five classes of benthic macroinvertebrates in an HSE pond with the water springs and HSE pond with the water of Lake Maninjau. Chironomidae was the most abundant Family in both the springs-HSE pond and the lake Maninjau-HSE pond. The abundance of benthic macroinvertebrates in these two ponds respectively, are 2207 individuals/m2 and 4138 individuals/m2. The Shanon-Wiener diversity index value is low, they are 0,38 in the springs-HSE pond and 0,29 in the  lake Maninjau-HSE pond. The Bray Curtis similarity index values in those two HSE Ponds ranged from 47% to 63%, furthermore its categories from “not similar to similar”.
