Abstract

The gas cutting area has several jobs that are risky to the operator, such as activities with squatting, bending positions. This study aims to determine the risk of work in the gas cutting area as a basis for improving work posture. The method used is RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) is a research method for investigating disorders of the upper limbs. By measuring the group A score and group B score. Based on the results of the RULA value in the process of operating the machine with a sitting position with a score 3. clearing the cutting plate with a bent position with a score of 5, and the highest score 6 in the grinding plate cutting. To reduce pain in the neck, torso, and arms, operators should not do work postures that cause pain in the body for a long time.

Abstract

This study aims to maximize the decline in the level of product defects to lead to zero defects. Researchers use the six sigma method through 5 stages of completion, namely, define, measure, analyze, improve, and control. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the sigma level and the value of DPMO (Defect per Million Opportunities) of the company amounted to 3.47 with possible damage of 24,239 sheets for one million productions. After further analysis using the Pareto diagram, it found that the cutting fault transfer defect was the most common with a percentage of damage of 43%. And based on the results of the analysis of fishbone diagrams, it can be seen that the main factors causing contamination in the production process come from the worker factor (human), followed by machine factors, material, and work methods. The proposed improvements that can be made by the company include updating existing methods and SOPs (standard operating procedures) and monitoring the operator's performance and developing knowledge and planning proper maintenance scheduling.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Pulper machines. The research was conducted using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness method. The research conducted at a company engaged in the Pulp & Paper field. Data collected by interviews and conducting direct observations in the area during February 2017. Based on the research, it can conclude that the Pulley OEE value was obtained by 77.31% with the main factor causing damage was Broken Ragger by 46%. The proposed improvements that can be given to minimize the incidence of broken ragger are training of ragger machine operators regularly, planning maintenance of scheduled ragger machines as well as providing tools to make it easier for operators to repair damaged machines

Abstract

The roughing stand machine functions for steel/product formation and the roll has five stands, and from each position has a different turn. In the production process, this machine also experiences obstacles that hinder the process [of production]. This study aims to determine the value of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and analysis of the causes of OEE values have not been maximized based on the review of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The data used are historical data of roughing stand machines during July 2016-December 2016. Based on the data processing performed, the results of the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) obtained on the Roughing Stand machine purchased at 57.5. The potential failure priority is base on the order of Risk Priority Number (RPN), the screw up non-working item has the most considerable RPN value (56). Regular lubrication is one way to maximize screw up performance..

Abstract

Hanifah Collection is a company engaged in the convection of school uniforms. The fluctuating number of requests each month creates its problems in determining the amount of production. This study aims to find a method that matches the data pattern as the basis for determining the amount of output in the next period. The technique used in this study is the forecasting method of Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing and Triple Exponential Smoothing with parameter level errors of each way using MAD, MSE, and MAPE. From the results of this study, there is a moving average method with the most appropriate method in determining demand forecasting in the next period with a value of MAD of 172.22, MSE of 46624.34 and MAPE 46624.34.

Abstract

Loss on a working system is one of the causes of the cost of the process to swell. The loss that reaches more than 450 tons/month on a cooling water system at a chemical company in the Serang area causes the company's expenses to swell. This study aims to determine the cause of cooling water wash as a basis for process improvement by using Six Sigma and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA). Data analysis results showed that cooling water loss is too little backwash filter duration, service filter duration is not optimum, and flow unreadable side stream. Improvements by increasing the length of the backwash, raising the service time of the sand filter to every two days, and cleaning the rotameter can increase the sigma value from 3.5 to 4.5.
