Abstract

ABSTRAK Literasi media memiliki berbagai definisi, berdasarkan latar belakang seseorang yang memberikan makna. National leadership Conference On Media Literacy mengartikan literasi media sebagai kemampuan individu untuk mengakses, menganalisis, mengevaluasi dan memproduksi media dengan tujuan tertentu. Perkembangan media dalam memberikan berbagai konten semakin sulit untuk di control. Sebagian besar konten dari media adalah bersifat hiburan. Sayangnya, berbagai hiburan yang saat ini di sajikan tidak lagi mementingkan etika dan norma-norma di masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan literasi media para ibu rumah tangga di kabupaten karawang barat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif, studi pustaka, wawancara mendalam dengan beberapa ibu rumah tangga, observasi dan juga FGD. Teori yang menjadi rujukan adalah Social Learning Theory dan literasi media. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada berbagai media yang banyak digunakan oleh ibu rumah tangga, diantaranya penggunaan handphone dan media sosial, namun yang paling banyak digunakan adalah Instagram. Ibu rumah tangga menghabiskan banyak waktunya untuk berselancar di Instagram, namun mereka tidak menyadari berbagai dampak buruk yang ditimbulkan oleh Instagram ini. Ada beberapa ibu rumah tangga yang memahami betul mengenai pentingnya memilih konten media yang di akses, namun belum secara mendalam memahami dampak yang dapat ditimbulkan bagi anggota keluarga, terutama bagi anak-anak mereka. ABSTRACTMedia literacy has various definitions, based on the background of someone who gives meaning. The National Leadership Conference on Media Literacy defines media literacy as the ability of individuals to access, analyze, evaluate and produce media with specific goals. The development of media in providing various contents is increasingly difficult to control. Most of the content from media is entertainment. Unfortunately, the variety of entertainment that is currently being presented is no longer concerned with ethics and norms in society. This study aims to determine the ability of media literacy of housewives in West Karawang district. The method used in this research is a qualitative method, literature study, in-depth interviews with several housewives, observation and FGD. Theories being referred to are Social Learning Theory and media literacy. The results of this study indicate that there are a variety of media that are widely used by housewives, including the use of mobile phones and social media, but the most widely used is Instagram. Housewives spend a lot of time surfing on Instagram, but they are not aware of the various adverse effects caused by Instagram. There are some housewives who understand very well the importance of choosing media content that is accessed, but have not yet deeply understood the impact that can have on family members, especially for their children.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTulisan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan jumlah pengunjung pada perpustakaan sekolah SMPN 1 Nan Sabaris   dengan   cara    menambah   layanan    pada Perpustakaan Sekolah SMPN 1 Nan Sabaris Kecamatan Nan Sabaris Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Target yang ingin dicapai adalah memberikan ruang makerspace kepada siswa sehingga siswa mempunyai sebuah ruang kreatifitas untuk menuangkan ide-ide dan kreatifitas di perpustakaan sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan proses pengambilan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara dan observasi lapangan. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian ini adalah bertambahnya jumlah pengunjung perpustakaan dan tersedianya sebuah ruang pada perpustakaan sekolah sebagai salah satu bentuk layanan terbaru yang disebut dengan layanan makerspace. ABSTRACTThis paper aims to increase the number of visitors to the Nan Sabaris SMPN 1 school library by adding services to the Nan Sabaris SMPN 1 School Library, Nan Sabaris District, Padang Pariaman Regency. The target to be achieved is to provide a maker space for students so that students have a space for creativity to express ideas and creativity in the school library. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with the process of collecting data by interview and field observation. The results obtained in this study are the increasing number of library visitors and the availability of a space in the school library as one of the newest forms of service called makerspace services.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan two ways communication dalam mengoptimalkan kebutuhan informasi pemustaka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif, penentuan fokus dalam proposal lebih didasarkan pada tingkat kebaruan informasi yang akan di peroleh dari situasi sosial (lapangan). Pada situasi sosial atau objek penelitian ini peneliti dapat mengamati secara mendalam aktivitas (activity), orang-orang (actors) yang ada pada tempat (place) tertentu. Maka dengan ini, peneliti lebih tepat melihat situasi sosial tertentu, dengan cara melakukan observasi dan wawancara kepada orang-orang yang dipandang tahu tentang situasi sosial tersebut. Adapun hasil penelitian hubungan two ways communication dalam mengoptimalkan kebutuhan informasi pemustaka adalah hasil penelitian yang dilakukan peneliti, kenyataan di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa hubungan two ways communication dalam mengoptimalkan kebutuhan informasi pemustaka dilihat dari urgensi unsur-unsur dalam melakukan komunikasi dua arah untuk mengoptimalkan kebutuhan informasi pada perpustakaan IAIN Batusangkar, dilihat dari lima unsur yang menjadi pertimbangan yaitu Source-receiver, Encoding- decoding, Messages, Feedback, dan Noise. kurangnya proses interaksi dalam komunikasi antara pustakawan dan pemustaka dalam mengoptimlakan kebutuhan informasi memang menjadi unsur penting dalam sebuah perpustakaan, akan tetapi unsur ini jarang sekali di lakukan baik oleh pustakawan maupun pemustaka. Dengan demikian ke lima unsur dalam hasil penelitian ini masih memiliki kekuranagan dalam setiap unsur yang semestinya dilakukan oleh pustakawan dan pemustaka. Karena untuk mengoptimalkan kebutuhan informasi perlu di tingkatkan komunikasi dua arah. Karena dengan ada komunikasi dua arah yang efektif antara pustakawan dan pemustaka maka kabutuhan informasi bagi pemustaka akan tercapai semaksimal mungkin sesuai dengan kebutuhan dari pemustaka dalam mencari informasi di perpustakaan IAIN Batusangkar. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the relationship of two ways communication in optimizing user information needs. This study uses a qualitative research approach, the determination of the focus in the proposal is based more on the level of novelty of information that will be obtained from the social situation (field). In social situations or the object of this research the researcher can observe in depth the activities (activities), people (actors) that exist in certain places. So with this, researchers more precisely look at certain social situations, by conducting observations and interviews with people who are considered to know about the social situation. The research results the relationship of two ways communication in optimizing library information needs is the result of research conducted by researchers, the reality in the field shows that the relationship of two ways communication in optimizing library information needs is seen from the urgency of the elements in conducting two-way communication to optimize the information needs of the Batusangkar IAIN library, seen from the five elements that are considered, namely Source-receiver, Encoding-decoding, Messages, Feedback, and Noise. lack of interaction processes in communication between librarians and librarians in optimizing information needs has indeed become an important element in a library, but this element is rarely done by both librarians and librarians. Thus the five elements in the results of this study still have flaws in every element that should be done by librarians and users. Because to optimize the information needs need to increase two-way communication. Because there is an effective two-way communication between librarians and users, information clutter for the visitors will be achieved as much as possible in accordance with the needs of the users in finding information in the Batusangkar IAIN library.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPerpustakaan perguruan tinggi adalah perpustakaan yang berada pada lingkungan perguruan tinggi, sekolah tinggi, akademi atau sekolah tinggi lainnya yang pada hakikatnya merupakan bagian integral dari suatu perguruan tinggi. Perpustakaan perguruan tinggi memilih, mengolah, mengoleksi, merawat, dan melayankan koleksi yang dimilikinya kepada para warga lembaga induknya pada khususnya dan masyarakat akademis pada umumnya. Pustakawan yang bekerja di perpustakaan yang ada di perguruan tinggi swasta di Kota Bandung pun berusaha agar perpustakaan yang dikelolanya selalu mengikuti perkembangan jaman dan teknologi adapun teknologi di perpustakaan yang sekarang ini sedang berkembang adalah hadirnya local content berbasis digital,namun belum semua perguruan tinggi siap akan hadirnya local content berbasis digital tersebut. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, namun belum semua perguruan tinggi siap menerima/beradaptasi akan hadirnya local content berbasis digital. Kepada para pemustakanya dengan cara melakukan penelitian dan wawancara terhadap pustakawan/staf perpustakaan tersebut. Dengan diadakannya Kegiatan penelitian dan wawancara ini kami berharap bahwa perpustakaan di perguruan tinggi swasta khususnya yang masih terakreditsi C untuk mengubah sedikit demi sedikit keadaan dan sistem-sistemnya agar bisa setara dengan perpustakaan perguruan tinggi negeri lainnya. Tujuan jangka panjangnya yaitu kami ingin agar pustakawan di perguruan tinggi swasta dapat mempunyai skil dan kemapuan yang mumpuni dalam melayani para pemustaka yang mencari koleksi local content berbasis digital.ABSTRACTHigher education libraries are libraries located within the tertiary educational institutions, high schools, academies or other high schools which are essentially an integral part of a tertiary institution. The university library chooses, processes, collects, maintains, and serves its collections to the citizens of its parent institution in particular and the academic community in general. Librarians who work in libraries in private universities in the city of Bandung are also trying to keep the libraries that they manage to keep abreast of the times and technology. As for technology in the library that is currently developing, is the presence of digital-based local content, but not all universities are ready to be present digital based local content. To overcome this problem, but not all universities are ready to accept / adapt the presence of digital-based local content. To the librarians by conducting research and interviews with the librarian / library staff. By holding this research and interview activity, we hope that libraries in private universities, especially those that are still accredited by C, will change little by little the conditions and systems so that they can be equivalent to other public higher education libraries. The long-term goal is that we want librarians in private tertiary institutions to have the skills and ability to serve those who are looking for digital-based local content collections.

Abstract

ABSTRAKArtikel ini membahas tentang persepsi pemustaka terhadap sistem klasifikasi Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) dengan pemanfaatan sistem temu kembali menggunakan OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)  di UPT Perpustakaan Politeknik Negeri  Sriwijaya Palembang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitain korelasional dengan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi, wawancara, kuesioner dan dokumentasi. Sampel dalam penelitian sebanyak 96 pemustaka dngan teknik simpel random sampeling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat  hubungan yang signifikan antara Persepsi Pemustaka Terhadap Sistem Klasifikasi Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) Dengan Pemanfaatan Sistem Temu kembali menggunakan OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog)  Di UPT Perpustakaan Politeknik Negeri  Sriwijaya Palembang. ABSTRACTThis article iscusses the perceptions of users to Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) classification system by utilizing the retrieval system using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) in the UPT Palembang Sriwijaya Polytechnic State Library. This study is a correlational research with a quantitative descriptive approach. Data collection is done by observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation. Samples in the study were 96 users with simple random sampling technique. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between the Perception of Users to the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) Classification System and the Utilization of the Retrieval System using OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) in the UPT Palembang Sriwijaya Polytechnic Library.

Abstract

ABSTRAKOtomasi perpustakaan adalah proses atau hasil penciptaan mesin swatindak atau swakendali tanpa campur tangan manusia dalam proses tersebut sebagai bentuk penerapan teknologi informasi untuk kepentingan perpustakaan dari mulai pengadaan hingga jasa informasi bagi pembaca. Perpustakaan yang menerapkan otomasi akan mengalih mediakan bahan pustaka berupa buku, gambar, suara dalam bentuk berkas elektronik. Proses ini dinamakan dengan proses digitalisasi. Perpustakaan digital dapat dicapai dengan otomasi perpustakaan melalui ILMS (Integrated Library Management System) atau jaringan terpadu. Dengan penerapan dan pemanfaatan teknologi maka pemustaka dapat menelusuri informasi dengan mudah, cepat dan tepat. Adapun tujuannya adalah untuk mengetahui: (1) sistem otomasi perpustakaan yang digunakan di BAPUSIPDA Jawa Barat; (2) kesesuaian koleksi  yang diotomasikan di BAPUSIPDA Jawa Barat guna memenuhi kebutuhan pemustaka dalam mendapatkan informasi; dan (3) dampak dari otomasi perpustakaan di BAPUSIPDA Jawa Barat agar dapat memenuhi kebutuhan informasi pemustaka; Selanjutnya dalam penelitian ini metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, dan data yang dikumpulkan diperoleh dengan cara observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan otomasi di perpustakaan dapat meningkatkan bukan saja layanan perpustakaan tetapi pemustaka dapat menemukan informasi yang dibutuhkan dengan cepat dan akurat. ABSTRACTLibrary automation is the process or result of the creation of self-control machine or control themselves without human intervention in the process as a form of application of information technology for the benefit of libraries from procurement to service information for the reader. Libraries that implement automation will transfer media library materials in the form of books, pictures, sounds in the form of electronic files. This process is called the digitization process. The digital library is a library automation through ILMS (Integrated Library Management System) or an integrated network. With the application and use of technology, users can browse information easily, quickly and precisely. The purpose is to find out: (1) the library automation system used in BAPUSIPDA West Java; (2) the suitability of collections that are automated in the BAPUSIPDA West Java in order to meet the needs of users in obtaining information; and (3) the impact of library automation in BAPUSIPDA West Java in order to meet the information needs of users. Furthermore, this research method used is a qualitative method, and the collected data obtained by observation, interview and documentation study. The results of this study indicate that the utilization of automation systems in libraries can improve not only library services but users can find the information needed quickly and accurately.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKoleksi perpustakan merupakan salah satu faktor utama pilar sebuah perpustakaan. koleksi perpustakaan akan memberi ciri, warna, daya tarik dan perhatian bagi pengunjung, koleksi yang semakin lengkap dan terbitan yang relatif baru, dapat memberikan kesempatan yang makin besar kepada pengunjung untuk memilih dan memperoleh informasi terkini. tahapan Seleksi bahan pustaka bagian kegiatan pengembangan koleksi, merupakan kegiatan penting berhubungan dengan mutu perpustakaan yang bersangkutan. Tujuan dari Penelitian ini meindentifikasikan bagaimana proses seleksi bahan pustaka di perpustakaan Masjid Gedhe Kauman Yogyakarta, dan untuk mengetahui kriteria Seleksi bahan pustaka perpustakaan Masjid Gedhe Kauman Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian studi kasus. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan metode wawancara. Teknik penyajian data yang dilakukan secara informal adalah berupa narasi. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa proses sleksi bahan pustaka di perpustakaan masjid gedhe kauman, tidak memiliki tim khusus dalam melakukan seleksi, belum memiliki kebijakan pengembangan koleksi tertulis, dalam proses seleksi belum sepenuhnya mengacu kepada standar nasional perpustakaan. ABSTRACTLibrary’s collection is one of the main factors of the pillars of a library. Library collections will give features, colors, attractions and attention for user. Increasingly comprehensive collections and relatively new edition can provide an increasing chance for users to choose and get up-to-date information Selection Stages of library materials is part of collection development activities is an important activity related to the quality of the library concerned. The purpose of this research is to identify the process of library material selection in the library Masjid Gedhe Kauman Yogyakarta, and to find out the criteria selection of library materials in Masjid Gedhe Kauman Library. The method of this research used qualitative research and the type of this research is a case study. The data collections in this research is using interview and technique of presenting data which is done informally is in the form of narration. The result of the research stated that the process of library selection in Masjid Gedhe Kauman Yogyakarta, does not have a special team in the selection, does not yet have a written collection development policy, in the selection process not fully refer to the national standard library.

Abstract

This study is entitled Utilization of Social Media as a Means of Promoting Library Services in Indonesia Institute of the Arts Surakarta. The purpose of this research is to find out whether social media (Facebook) can provide convenience in introducing various services, providingan an information to users in the current style. In addition, to find out whether facebook can be used to effectively promoting an information services and activities in the library. Researchers will look at facebook, collect documentation data on facebook library pages and analyze them using descriptive qualitative analysis. The approach used is a qualitative approach, namely research that describes the phenomenon, digging data by interviewing informants, observation and documentation. Researchers' technique in finding data will be done directly through online media or the internet by structured interviews and checklists. It's just that if needed the researcher will meet directly the informant. Researchers assume that social media can be used as a substitute for the promotion of library services in the form of online or softcopy and simultaneously to many people and quickly and sometimes even immediately get a response or public response. In addition, promotion with social media can attract users to take of library facilities and participate in library activities and as a media for documentation of various activities in the library. The results of this research are expected to be input and thought for the Library of  Indonesian Institute of Arts Surakarta, namely how to promote library services through facebook in this modern era so that the academic community utilizes services library.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how the changes made by academic librarians in the era of disruption so that the profession of librarians is not extinct. The type of method used in this research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research involved five librarians from several private university libraries in Bandung as key informants. The selection of informants was carried out using a purposive sampling technique with the intention that the selected informants according to certain criteria were relevant to the context of the problem in this study. The results showed that as a profession, librarians cannot work alone, meaning librarians need to collaborate with anyone such as lecturers, researchers, students, and the community. Examples of collaboration that can be done such as making software and doing various activities. Academic librarians in the era of disruption are also required to be willing to learn to be ready to follow all changes and adapt to the environment. Academic librarians must also continually update their knowledge and insights about research trends so that librarians can assist users in conducting scientific research and publications. The conclusion from this study shows that there are several efforts that can be done by librarians so that the librarian profession does not become extinct, namely collaborating, learning, and helping users.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana proses transfer pengetahuan yang ada di Perpustakaan Kementerian Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Pendekatan studi kasus yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat kejadian sebenarnya dari aktivitas pustakawan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa proses sosialisasi di Perpustakaan Kemenkumham terjadi melalui diskusi pustakawan dan pimpinan. Proses eksternalisasi dilakukan melalui kegiatan pustakawan yang dituangkan ke dalam bentuk baru. Proses kombinasi dilakukan dengan mengumpulkan, mentransfer atau menyebarkan, dan mengolah informasi maupun pengetahuan yang diperoleh dari tahap eksternalisasi ke dalam laporan tahunan. Proses internalisasi di Perpustakaan Kemenkumham belum optimal dilakukan dikarenakan pustakawan masih berfokus pada kegiatan pengolahan perpustakaan. Namun dalam hal ini, dokumen laporan tersebut dapat menjadi pengetahuan baru bagi pustakawan maupun organisasi. Hambatan yang ada di Perpustakaan Kementerian Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia yaitu pada sumber daya manusia dan anggaran untuk kegiatan perpustakaan seperti workshop maupun pelatihan yang dapat menjadi media promosi perpustakaan. Transfer pengetahuan di Perpustakaan Kementerian Hukum dan Hak Asasi Manusia dilakukan melalui sosialisasi, eksternalisasi, kombinasi, dan internalisasi.ABSTRACTThis paper aims to know how the knowledge transfer process runs in the Library of Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The method used in this paper is qualitative research were taken through interviews, observation and documentation studies. A case study approach is used on this paper by seeing reality from librarian activites. The results of this paper indicate that socialization in the Kemenkumham Library occurs through discussion of librarians and the leaders. Externalization is carried out through librarian activities which are poured into new forms. Combination is done by collecting, transferring or disseminating, and processing information and knowledge obtained from the externalization stage into the annual report. Internalization has not yet been optimized because librarians are still focusing on library processing activities. Moreover, the report documents can become new knowledges for librarians and organizations. The existing obstacles in knowledge transfer process in Kemenkumham Library are in human resources and the budget for library activities such as holding workshops and training activities that can be a media for library promotion. Knowledge Transfer  in the Library of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights are carried out through a process of socialization, externalization, combination, and internalization.
