Abstract

In the current era of modernization, the development of the cosmetic industry in the world is developing very rapidly. One of the cosmetics that is the main requirement for women is lipstick. PT. Cedefindo is one of the cosmetic manufacturers that produce SASC lipstick. During 2017, there were problems in the lipstick packaging process. Based on the results of identification, the delay is caused by the buildup during the weighing process so that the next process becomes slow and sometimes makes the operator idle. The consequence that arises is often not achieving daily production targets. Therefore, this research aims to reduce the delay in the lipstick packaging process, especially the lipstick packaging section. In evaluating and analyzing the lipstick packaging system, research uses system simulation with the help of ProModel software. The result shows that adding would reduce the delay in the lipstick packaging process. Minimizing the production costs related to the packaging process is conducted by reducing operator unused work shifts. Therefore, adding some operators can reduce production costs especially on operator salaries up to 75%. The feasible solution is to assign 3 operators on low demand rate, 4 operators at normal demand rate and high demand rate.

Abstract

The increasing number of vehicles is followed by the increasing amount of fuel consumption. In fact, the availability of petroleum fuel is getting decreased, while we know that fuel derived from petroleum is nonrenewable. Therefore, we conducted an experiment about the effect of four types of fuel to the distance traveled by the motorcycle media (Mega Pro). The experiments were done by using a factorial design with a single factor (ANOVA), on a different day in the implementation of the experiment as a nuisance factor. From the results of this research, we know that the fuel type affects to vehicle mileage. The fuel that has the longest mileage is Pertamax Plus. A significant degree of the fuel affects to a distance is 0.000.Keywords: ANOVA, Factorial Design, Nuisance Factor.

Abstract

The gas station has become an important facility for the public, especially for people in large cities such as Jakarta. This condition was caused by increasing demand from year to year. The number of facilities has less number than the customer that came, which could cause queueing in the station. This research was made with the purpose to reduce the number of the queue and increase the number of customers serviced at the gas station. This research located on one of the gas stations in Jakarta at 16.00-18.00 from Monday to Friday. The data used for this research is primary data which was observed directly by the researcher. The data used for this research are the number of customers arrived and service time. Data analysis is using discrete-event simulation with ProModel software. The conclusion of this research is the actual system has a relatively high number of queueing customer which also affect the reduced number of customers that was served. Improvement model was created by decreasing the service time by 10% with the average number of queues by 4 customers for Pertalite and 4customers for Premium. Scenario model is also designed as a proposal by using customer migration scenario from Premium to Pertalite by 30%, 60%, and 100%. The proposed system for the first scenario is by decreasing the service time by 20% with the average number of queues by 8 customers for Pertalite and 1 customer for Premium. For the second scenario is by modifying the queueing system and decreasing the service time by 10% with the average number of queues by 8 customers for Pertalite and 7 customers for Premium. For the third scenario is by opening a new server for Pertalite with the average number of queues by 5 customers.

Abstract

CV. Faresti Prima which is a company engaged in machining, automatic part, dies, and jigs. Union Pipe Unit is part of the research because it has problems in the assignment that is still manual. Data collection is done on unit union pipe with average work per day. The problem is found in the union pipe unit with the manual assignment. Observations made on 4 people for cutting pipes, chamfering, stamping, and packing. Results of observations then performed data processing using Hungarian method, so that the optimum unit is generated per hour as much as 8.125. Furthermore, data processing was performed using PERT method with the result stated that the optimum working order was A-B-C-D-E with total processing time for 5,000 units for 16.5 hours. The last data processing using CPM method can be seen that the acceleration time as much as 8 hours from the initial time is 16.5 hours with the total crash cost of 4,000,000 IDR from the allocated fund of 4,225,000 IDR. From some data processing, it can be seen that there is an optimization in the assignment and network work. Therefore, in accordance with the existing theories and objectives of this research, namely to optimize the existing human resources for the work done equally and minimize the losses due to unemployed use of these methods can be used as a reference in the making of the schedule, so as to facilitate the course of the project to know the delay in every process.

Abstract

Production and distribution activities in production system need to be integrated in order to increase the efficiency of the system effectively, and to decrease the cost of logistics flow. In an echelon inventory model, it can be planned and controlled, so the size of order lot for each distribution service system unit can be integrated in a value chain system. By understanding which supply channel that produce annual minimum cost, we can decide which policy of supply channel and optimal lot to be implemented. Keywords: Echelon Inventory Model, Optimization of Minimum Cost

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to empirically test a framework which identifies the relationships between supply chain management (SCM) practices, operational performance and innovation performance of manufacturing and service firms. Data for the study were collected from a sample of 256 manufacturing and service firms. The research model was tested using structural equation modeling. The results show that SCM practices in both the upstream and downstream supply chain have a direct and significant impact on organizational and innovation performance of firms. Innovation improvement caused by SCM also results in better organizational performance. The findings also reveal that manufacturing and service firms do not have a significant difference in their SCM practices. The time sequence of the association between the variables could not be concluded given that cross-sectional data were used. This study shows the importance of SCM practices and how they directly influence organizational and innovation performance. This result will be encouraging to firms. This study has developed and validated a multi-dimensional construct of SCM practices, and this tool can assist decision makers of firms to evaluate the efficiency of their current SCM practices. The paper presents one of the few studies which empirically validates the relationships between SCM practices and organizational and innovation performances. The study also focuses on a developing country which is in transition from being manufacturing focused to service focused. Keywords: Supply Chain Management, Organizational Innovation, Organizational Performance
