Abstract

Keywords: Segmentasi, Psikografis, Behavioral, Cluster, Fitness Center

Abstract

Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) caused by computer use have become the most common ergonomic risks. The risk experienced can be in the form of financial losses or even lives. Therefore, efforts are needed to prevent the occurrence of ergonomic risks so as not to cause large losses. The Rapid Office Strain Assessment (ROSA) has been designed to identify ergonomic risk factors and is reliable for the assessment of office workers' MSDs. This study evaluates the potential risk of ergonomics in female office workers because a previous study found that MSDs were more common in women. From the two workers observed, it was found that workers 1 and 2 received different scores on several assessment components. The different things are the length of the seat holder, armrests, spine brace, and keyboard. This difference is caused by body posture and different types of chairs. The length of the chair and the spinal brace is influenced by the different postures of the two workers. Worker 1 has a shorter upper leg length than worker 2, so she cannot use the backbone section of the chair. Although there are differences in scores on some components of the assessment, both workers have the same final ROSA score, which is 5. This indicates that further posture assessment needs to be done using tools other than ROSA to detect the specific cause of MSDs levels.

Abstract

5S method as lean concept foundation is an effective tool to achieve improvement effort in organizations. Organizations which do not have working area standard yet according to 5S method have the chance doing the improvement, as the design suggested to the publishing and bookstore chain company. The research was done in three working areas processing product ordering documents by consumers. Data collection was done by field observation and interviews to related staff. Data collected includes process flow in the three working areas, actual physical working area condition, and activity time as modeling base with ProModel 2001. Based on review related to methods, machines, environment, materials and man aspects, the three working areas need an improvement based on 5S method. The company does not have similar standards yet, so kinds of waste happen at times at the working areas. Gudang working area improvement was done based on waste identification, process flow, activity time, and current actual physical condition. At departemen administrasi, the improvement was done based on waste identification, actual physical condition, and the area necessity. At departemen keuangan, improvement was done based on waste identification, actual physical condition, and the area necessity. At the three working areas the 5S was designed from seiri (proper arrangement), seiton (orderliness), seiso (cleanliness), seiketsu (standardize), and shitsuke (discipline) activities each. Gudang working area modeling was done with the basis on activity time data to test improvement design effect according to 5S method. Modeling was based on actual condition and three alternatives.Working area improvement design with 5S method was designed as suggestions at the three working areas in the company. Success factor in the implementation is viewed based on the whole staff’s commitment, with the consideration on any obstacles, such as workers’ resistance to the 5S method suggested. Therefore, in this research workers’ psychology aspects could be taken into consideration for further details. Modeling results indicated the alternative to eliminate a certain single activity without any staff added yielded the optimum result and could be taken into consideration for the company to implement.Keywords: 5S, Lean, Waste

Abstract

Smooth production in a manufacturing firm is very important because it will affect the outcome of which is the expected output of the production trajectory balance that existed at the company if it is optimal or not. The objectives to be achieved in this research is balancing production trajectory so that the expected target company can be reached, drink idle time, and improve the efficiency of the production trajectory. At PT METBELOSA there are trajectories that have not been balanced by the production of idle time on the final line for assembling OB91Z 1.606149 minutes, balance delay in assembling the final line OB91Z by 29.75% and the efficiency in assembling the final line OB91Z of 70.25%, from Data collection on the final assembling line OB91Z also note that the company can’t achieve the expected production targets every day as many as 1500 kwh meter OB91Z type. Therefore the company needs to make improvements in the balancing path to reach their intended target in the final assembling line OB91Z. The method used is a heuristic method MALB (Mansoor Aided Line Balancing) and heuristic methods COMSOAL (Computer Method for Sequencing Operations for Assembly Lines). The data used is data on the production process of assembling the final line OB91Z and the amount of labor in assembling the final line OB91Z. Abstract

PT. Garuda Metalindo, which is engaged in the manufacturing industry, is currently experiencing a product failure of 2.5% in the production process and this exceeds the failure tolerance set by the company, which amounts to 10 units of 1000 units per process function or about 1% in the production process. Failure tolerance that exceeds the limit so that improvements need to be made to reduce the number of product defects in each production process. This study uses Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify the causes of product defects based on the current production process, the next stage using Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failures, modes, potential effects of failure, causes of failure, detection modes, and determine the rating against severity, occurrence, and detection on the risk priority number in the production process. Based on the results of the assessment on the RPN, a cold forming process with a score of 576, surface finishing with a score of 512 was obtained, machining 1 with a score of 441, and machining 2 with a score of 392. Proposed improvements for cold forming defects by monitoring and making checking tools (jigs), defect surface finishing by supervising and making product shelves, machining defects 1 with product inspection and making tools for checking (jig), and replacement of drill bit types, machining defects 2 with lamp and insert replacement and periodic inspection. By applying these proposals it is expected to reduce the level of product disability.
