Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of computer, telecommunication, and information technologies has significantly increased the number of internet-based transactions worldwide. Legal protection for consumers in online buying and selling transactions is therefore essential to support the sustainable growth of the community’s economy. This study examines the responsibility of business actors toward consumers in online sales transactions and the forms of legal protection available to consumers in online sale and purchase agreements. This research employs a normative legal research method by analyzing relevant laws and regulations. The results indicate that, first, business actors in online sales transactions are obligated to provide compensation or indemnification for defective or problematic products. Second, legal protection for online consumers is provided through legal certainty as stipulated in statutory regulations governing electronic transactions, particularly Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions, and Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection.  Keywords: Consumer Protection, Agreement, Online Sale and Purchase.

Abstract

The mining sector is a capital-intensive, technology-intensive, and high-risk industry. One of the main activities that significantly influences the continuity of coal production is overburden removal. This study aims to evaluate the productivity of Komatsu excavators in overburden removal activities at PT Dizamatra Powerindo, Lahat, South Sumatra, and identify the factors that influence it. The research methods used include collecting primary and secondary data through field observations, measuring work cycle times (time study), recording bottleneck times, documentation, and literature studies. Primary data include work cycle time, number of cycles per hour, work front conditions, bucket fill factor, bottleneck time, and work efficiency of equipment and operators. The results show that the actual productivity of the Komatsu PC 1250 excavator of 542,029 BCM/hour has exceeded the company's target of 500 BCM/hour, with an estimated monthly production of 357,739 BCM. The main factors that influence productivity include work cycle time, bucket fill factor, work front conditions, loading patterns, material swell factor, and operational and mechanical bottleneck times. Furthermore, the geometry of the work surface and operator skills also play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the excavation and loading process. Therefore, excavator productivity in overburden removal activities is greatly influenced by a combination of equipment technical condition, field conditions, and mine operational management. Keywords: excavator productivity, overburden removal, digging and loading equipment, open pit mining, work efficiency

Abstract

This study examines the strategies of rural communities in responding to wartime violence during the period 1942–1949 in Kuantan Hulu, highlighting the transformation of responses from the Japanese occupation to the Indonesian Revolution. This research employs the historical method, including heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. It also adopts an oral history approach by conducting interviews with local communities. In addition, the study utilizes material evidence in the form of protective shelters to visualize the memory of the community regarding the revolutionary period. The findings show that during the Japanese occupation, although communities lived under pressure, they still had room to carry out covert resistance, one of which was by deceiving Japanese soldiers through the use of local knowledge of river environments. Meanwhile, during the Indonesian Revolution, the increasing intensity of violence through Dutch military operations limited the possibility of resistance, leading communities to shift toward survival strategies by constructing protective underground shelters around their homes. This transformation indicates that community responses to war were adaptive and situational. The study emphasizes that civilians were not merely passive victims, but also active agents who exercised agency in determining their survival strategies. Furthermore, this research contributes to enriching the understanding of community experiences during wartime in Indonesia. Keywords: Kuantan, Revolution, Japanese Occupation, Resistence.
