Abstract

Brassai works titled "Bijou" of the Montmartre cabarets is very interesting theory revealed by semiotics. The photo is one of the works in the project Brassai Paris by Night is doing to document Paris at night. On the work found several signs that can be described with particular semiotic theory of semiotics Barthes. "Bijou" of the Montmartre cabarets is a representation of the nightlife in Paris which is illustrated by the figure of an old woman who works as an entertainer with a background in a nightclub atmosphere. The visual expression achieved with the proper use of photographic techniques by Barthes either through the use of natural light and a standard lens. Key words: photography, sign, semiotica

Abstract

Efforts to make Balinese chocolate products of IKM sector as souvenirs for tourists require branding strategy to improve the image of the product in the minds of the target audience. Branding strategies conducted through designing of logo as a brand identity, packaging design as a media product appeal and POP (Point of Purchase) as a means of product promotion. The creative concept refers to the main idea of "Balinese Chocolate", by processing one of the potentials local Balinese culture in the form of Prada textiles and woven fabrics Pegeringsingan, which is applied to the packaging as a visual element to construct the attractiveness of Balinese chocolates.  Keywords: Branding, Strategies, Balinese, Chocolate, Textile

Abstract

Anthropomorphism in arts has been known since the prehistoric period and developed in all over the world, including the primitive arts in the Borneo and Papua hinterland. During the Indonesia-Hindu culture, anthropomorphism was used to represent the character of ‘extraordinary’ in the old fables and serves as a medium of religious. While anthropomorphism in modern Indonesian arts today can be found in the form of comics, movies, and television soap operas although anthropomorphic shape still not as extraordinary as Indonesian-Hindu arts earlier. Abstract

Television drama in Indonesia are almost dominated by soap operas. The story themes often lifted beyond the reality of society, and even tend to be exaggerated. The scenes and dialogue have sexist, rude, filthy and indecent language spoken by the children actors. Ambiguity plot, theme, and segmentation will direct the public mindset, a fictional drama on television is no longer a positive impact impressions but rather a negative influence. Screenplay is absolutely necessary to facilitate television programs production team for communicating everything related to the creative process of copywriting for film and television drama. Besides, television drama is also expected to present certain value espesially social responsibility and learning. Key words: film, miniseries, screenplay, drama, television

Abstract

Today the musical theatre is a new performance art that was created by famous Indonesian filmmakers. Convensional elements in the film production combine with visual display on the musical performances creatively and elegantly. The drastically change in film became a medium of show, provide a change not merely in terms of visual-physical, but more change in the context, especially meaning, the message will be delivered by the musical art. Abstract

The research of woman’s perfectionism image on advertisement of the Mustika Ratu beauty products, especially focused on advertisement of Lulur Krem dan Hand & Body Bengkoang Whitening products. The analysis technique used semiotic approach, in order to looking for sign, index, symbol, and connotation in the advertisement related to the products. Finally, the research found that the woman’s perfectionism image can be explained through several aspects, including model pose, costume, and narrative (text) existing in the advertisement.
