Abstract

Penulisan ini membahas mengenai tata letak pada ilustrasi pawukon dalam naskah yang  disampaikan dalam bentuk prosa. Naskah semacam ini berkembang seiring dengan perkembangan tulisan dan merupakan bagian dari artefak budaya Jawa yang dapat menyampaikan nilai atau pesan dari genrasi terdahulu. Ilustrasi sebagai bagian dari kelengkapan naskah memiliki fungsi komunikasi yang cukup penting, di mana salah satu aspek komunikasi tidak dapt dilepaskan dari struktur visual atau susunan ilustrasi tersebut. Pembahasan dalam artikel ini dilakukan dengan analisis interpretatif melalui pendekatan estetika, khususnya dibatasi pada pembahasan asas kesatuan dan keseimbangan, serta kejelasan tata jenjang. Ilustrasi pawukon tidak dapat dipisahkan pemaknaannya dengan penjelasan dalam teks. sebagai bagian dari struktur visual, asas kesatuan, keseimbangan dan kejelasan tata jenjang dapat memberikan pengaruh pada penyampaian pesan.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the educational value of the Otan character in the Si Otan TRANS7 program. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative, with the object of studying the character of Otan in the Si Otan program. Collecting data used purposive sampling technique with the observation method and literature study, as well as analysis of Semiotics Roland Barthes. The result of this study shows that the Otan character has 8 educational values, namely: positive thinking, not committing violence, living together, respecting others, being yourself, critical thinking, solving problems and love for the environment. The value of education in critical thinking is the most dominant value in Otan's character. The eight values can be found from the body posture exhibited by Otan, the facial expressions displayed, the clothes Otan wears, and the voiceover that is spoken.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui nilai pendidikan pada karakter Otan dalam program acara Si Otan TRANS7. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan objek kajian karakter Otan dalam program acara Si Otan. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan metode observasi dan studi pustaka, serta analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa karakter Otan memiliki 8 nilai pendidikan, yaitu: pikiran positif, tidak melakukan kekerasan, hidup bersama, menghargai orang lain, menjadi diri sendiri, berpikiran kritis, menyelesaikan permasalahan dan cinta terhadap lingkungan. Nilai pendidikan berpikir kritis merupakan nilai yang paling dominan pada karakter Otan. Delapan nilai tersebut dapat ditemukan baik dari postur tubuh yang diperagakan oleh Otan, ekspresi wajah yang ditampilkan, pakaian yang digunakan Otan, maupun voiceover yang diucapkan.

Abstract

This discussion is intended to know the form of display of comedy drama of Nglenong Nyok, and how this comedy drama represents lenong Betawi traditional art in its display. This study was a descriptive qualitative study using an embedded single strategy. Source of data obtained from informants, documents, books, audio-visual displays, and internet. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using an interactive model. The results showed that Nglenong Nyok is an event with a sitcom format, which looks at the troubleshooting at the end of each episode within 30 minutes and the fourth element which is characteristic of a sitcom that is the fact that the story is presented, the language used, characters, and place. Overall, the comedy drama of Nglenong Nyok as an adaptation display can represent a lenong show into the display, although the production process has undergone development in some elements. Still keepholding on guidelines (grip, Java) of the showlenong Betawi is evidence that the comedy drama of Nglenong Nyok is able to represent the lenong show in the middle of the television business that requires the program makers to be more concerned with profit than the quality. Abstract

This study discusses the procedures of costumes and characters in the Sukarnofilm. This qualitative descriptive research apply the Sukarno film as source of data. Thecollection of data by purposive sampling, with the method of observation, interviews,and literature. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, drawingconclusions and verification process. The results showed that the costumes portraythe characterization of the characters. Costume adjusted with basic clothing, headclothing, body clothing, legs underwear, and accessories are known for costume parts.Each character has a unique costume and a differentiator from other figures. Costumealso build characterization of actors according to the physiological dimension (neatness,cleanliness, beauty, beauty, valor, charm, charisma, and authority). Sociological dimensionsindicate socioeconomic class, role in the family / community, ideology, ancestry, levelof education, religion, ethnicity / race, and interaction between the actors. While thepsychological dimensions adapted to the atmosphere and scene. Color and layoutcostume describing feelings, honesty, sincerity, emotion, desire, desire, passion, inneraction, as well as the vision of each character in the film.Keywords: costume, characterization, actor, film, and Soekarno

Abstract

This study aims to determine the editing technique that is applied to the Rectoverso film and to know how editing can form storytelling in the Rectoverso film. The study used descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection used interviews, observation, and literatures. Data analysis was performed based on the theories on Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions, and verification. Type of editing applied in the film Rectoverso is continuity editing. This type of editing to ensure the achievement of sustainability of a series of stories in the scene of action. There are seven techniques and processes used to achieve the editing, namely Rules 1800, Shot/Reverse-shot, Establishing/reestablishing shot, eye line match, cutting point of view, cut-in, and match on action. The conclusions of the study that the use of continuity editing can form storytelling and supporting each scene in the movie. The splicing shot and scene shows the implicit message in it. Overall the Rectoverso film uses cross-cutting techniques or parallel editing. If the pattern is associated with the development of the story, then the movie Rectoverso uses three stages, namely, the stage of the beginning, middle, and closing. The goal is that the bond of causality (cause and effect) will be maintained because of the unity and development of the story is also determined by them. So, editing as one element in the Rectoverso film can also form the storytelling.Keywords: editing, Rectoverso, film, and story

Abstract

This study describes the representation of nostalgia in the “Memori Melodi” music program in the episode Tribute To Yon Koeswoyo. This study uses a construction approach from the representation of Stuart Hall. The sampling technique uses purposive sampling technique. Data collection used is observation without a roleplay and interviews. Data analysis used Miles and Huberman model data analysis which consisted of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study indicate there is a nostalgic representation in the music program of “Memori Melodi” episode Tribute To Yon Koeswoyo. The appearance of nostalgic is constructed through verbal and non-verbal language in each segment. The construction of social interactions between the performers (host, singer, audience) and sensory input (music, visual, narrative about Koes Plus and Yon Koeswoyo, and expressions of the performers) is a form of nostalgia in the Tribute To Yon Koeswoyo's episode. This nostalgic representation is useful knowledge about the reappearance of nostalgia in music programs on television.

Abstract

Training spoken English tutors requires a variety of resources, including audio-visual references. However, popular social media tutorials often focus on teaching specific English materials, neglecting broader teaching techniques. Ideal tutors need a positive and engaging personality, knowledge transfer strategies, adaptable approaches to classroom conditions, meticulous preparation, and effective wrap-up activities - elements that are missing from most tutorial videos. This study investigates the potential of short documentary films as a reference for teaching techniques for 13 prospective tutors in an intermediate English class. Through an integrated mentoring program for the production of short documentaries, the study explores, describes and addresses the challenges of teaching preparation through observation, interviews and literature review. It also analyzes the potential of documentaries to support teaching and formulates criteria for effective documentary content relevant to teacher preparation. The findings suggest that integrating documentary film production into the English language teaching curriculum can equip tutors with the necessary skills for successful micro-teaching experiences. This approach allows tutors to create personalized short documentaries that serve as a reference for teaching techniques tailored to their specific pre-teaching needs. Tutors gain a deeper understanding and ability to demonstrate not only teaching techniques, but also classroom management elements such as preparation, wrap-up activities, brainstorming and teaching approaches.

Abstract

Local television as a imaginary media in a localities exist as a phenomena in order to expressed reality. This article will examine a what kind of contribution need a specific perspective regarding to local identity entirely. According to the main contribution of local television, this article attempt to local materials appearance as well as social educative impacts gained from their program itself. At least the local materials supposed to be news program competence, program production’s competence, local imaginary competence, and Actualization of local competence. Through this article what I would like to strives can not be separated from relationship among existence of media television and imaginary of local product. Based on a mainstream of indigenous localityand imaginary approaches, so that local television has a specific contribution upon social educative’s roles in their own phenomena.Keyword : media television, locality, imaginary approach, social educative.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic changed all the aspects of life, including the arts. Traditional artists were badly affected. They do not have any requests for art performances at all, because the performances will definitely gather the masses, including the beber puppet (wayang beber). For that, it is necessary to find a solution to overcome this condition. Through this artistic research, the researcher created a model for presenting the beber wayang show using multi-platform technology, namely the integration of video conferencing and live streaming, abbreviated as Vicolming. This artistic research uses a type of practice-based research with a ‘Multi-Method’ approach with stages including information gathering, selection, preparation, analysis, evaluation, presentation, and communication. The results show that the wayang beber show performed with multi-platform technology can produce offerings or performance that are not only online but interesting, creative, interactive, collaborative, and can be watched from anywhere live and on demand. The results of this research are expected to become an online performance model that can be applied to other traditional performing arts.Keywords: Vicolming, multi-platform, wayang beber, and Covid-19

Abstract

Indonesian animation lack in using the potential of local culture is the basic reality for this artistic research. The animation creation that refering on the characteristics of traditional performing arts is the focus. This study uses an pratice-based research. Research procedures conducted in two phases, namely analysis and development/implementation. Analysis involves identifying and studing the research object (puppet motion as a reference) and the creation of animated cartoon films. The results of this artistic research showed that a) Elements such shadow puppets (Wayang Kulit) and Wayang Beber typical with their decorative can be applied in character and environment visualization, and provide imaginative effects, b) Movement shadow puppets have a body language that can be used as a reference animated cartoon motion c) the philosophy and meaning in shadow puppets movement is applied to the animated film that can make an animated cartoon has special characteristics and different from Western animation principles, and d) Performance of narrative animation that refers to Dalang’s narratives in shadow puppets making movies more typical Indonesian animation.keyword: film, cartoon, animation, tradition
