Abstract

Currently, educational institutions have utilized websites to disseminate information to the academic community and the general public. Therefore, the Agricultural Industrial Technology study program at the Sumatera Institute of Technology (TIP-ITERA) has also taken advantage of technological advancements to develop the study program's website, aiming to fulfill the need to disseminate program-related information. The objective of this initiative was to develop the TIP-ITERA study program's website using WordPress CMS. This activity was conducted at the Agricultural Industrial Technology study program at the Sumatera Institute of Technology, which is located in Lampung Province. The target audience for this activity comprises (1) the TIP-ITERA study program as the main partner, and (2) website visitors, which is consist of the academic community of TIP-ITERA and ITERA, as well as the general public. The outcome of this activity was the development of the website using a Waterfall system development model and a web hosting architecture. Actors involved in the Use Case Diagram for the developed website include administrator and visitors. Furthermore, The website was evaluated using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). The reliability test results analyzed by the UEQ Data Analysis Tool indicated that all data collected for each variable category in the questionnaire were reliable, as the Cronbach Alpha (α) value for all categories was > 0.6. The evaluation results showed that the scores of the developed website in the categories of stimulation, attractiveness, perspicuity, efficiency, dependability, and novelty were 2.293, 2.215, 2.180, 2.130, 2.335, and 1.960, respectively. The overall benchmarking results indicated that all categories in the UEQ were rated as excellent, signifying that the User Experience (UX) performance of the TIP-ITERA study program's website was considered very good.

Abstract

The excessive and improper use of synthetic pesticides triggers ecosystem damage. The negative impacts of pesticide use can result in pest resistance, resurgence, the death of natural enemies, residue left on crop yields, and environmental pollution. Aside from the negative impacts on the environment, the use of synthetic pesticides burdens farmers due to their relatively high cost. Botanical pesticides become an alternative for controlling plant pests (Pests). Thus, a socialization on making botanical pesticides was conducted in Cubadak Air Village, North Pariaman Subdistrict, Pariaman City. The objective of creating botanical pesticides was to reduce the use of synthetic pesticides, decrease control costs, and maintain agricultural ecosystems. The botanical pesticide-making activity was carried out on July 19-20, 2023, in Cubadak Air Village, North Pariaman Subdistrict, Pariaman City. The method used was a direct demonstration of botanical pesticide production to farmer groups and the community in Cubadak Air Village. The results obtained after empowering the community in making botanical pesticides were that farmers could directly produce these pesticides, thereby aiding in the farmers' economy by reducing pesticide purchasing costs, utilizing wild plants like weeds to be used as botanical pesticides. The training on making botanical pesticides proceeded smoothly, and participants showed enthusiasm for the presented material. The use of environmentally friendly botanical pesticides, utilizing available natural resources, helps to maintain ecosystem balance.

Abstract

Geographically, Labuhan Tangga Hilir Village is located in the northernmost part of Riau Province, which is also the eastern coastal region of Sumatra Island. So that Labuhan Tangga Hilir Village has fisheries and marine resource potential. The potential for fisheries and marine resources consists of capture fisheries potential, cultivation and processing fisheries potential. The problem in the Labuhan Tangga Hilir Village area is that fishermen catch a lot and are abundant so they are not sold out, which causes the fish they catch to rot and have no economic value. The average catch of fishermen per month is 1.3 tons, with details of 500 kg being sold and 800 kg being wasted every month. The solution to this problem requires training in making sardines and the implementation of SIKOSA innovation technology tools based on the Internet of Things.
