Abstract

Traditions earlier than the practice of material culture always over the process of development, change and even extinction. This is largely due to the process of acculturation and assimilation with new cultures from outside. This is what happened in Gorontalo. At the beginning of civilization is very decisive by nature, then the transition after the entry of Islam in the XVI century. One of the traditions of Gorontalo people that grew up after Islam was accepted as an official religion was Buruda. Not only in the centers of the crowd, this tradition spread to remote villages, one of which is in Owata. In the Gorontalo community in Owata, Buruda is an entertainment medium that can be used as a medium of friendship between fellow Muslims. In 1971 the Buruda tradition was preparing for development because quite a lot of people were interested at that time. This is evidenced by the many people who are enthusiastic to witness the implementation of Buruda, from young people to the elderly. After developing and developing over four periods, the Buruda tradition finally changed backwards, and finally it was completely no longer practiced by the people of Owata since 2003. This is caused by internal factors that describe the mindset of the community, executing figures that began to emerge, and inheritance which is not walk. In addition, there are also external factors, namely additional support from the government and the entry of modern musical instruments in the village.

Abstract

This Gorontalo is one of regions with varied inhabitants, particularly if it is reviewed from the ethnic aspect. Instead of indigenous people who are ethnic Gorontalo, there are other ethnic classified as comers too, including ethnic Chinese. The attendance of the Ethnic Chinese in Biawao Village of Gorontalo City was began in second half of 19 Century (1856) and intensively since early of 20 Century along with direct administration applied by Dutch Colonial over Gorontalo region. Their presence in Gorontalo and Indonesia was commonly driven by frequent problem emerged in China which was not enabling them to have a better life. In addition, hope for fate improvement offered by new land also became a trigger of Chinese migration to all over the world including Gorontalo. as time went by, the ethnic Chinese in Gorontalo had assimilated with local inhabitant (ethnic Gorontalo), and it occurred thorough several interactive media which the most dominant were tradevand marriage.

Abstract

This research aims to know the use of cultural heritage objects as a source of historical learning in Bolaang Mongondow, in addition to looking at the factors that become obstacles in the use of cultural heritage objects. The method used is a qualitive method to describe descriptively the phenomena that occur as whole and through. Data analysis used is interactive analysis, where the data collection or interaction. This research is expected that historical learning in school will utilize cultural heritage objects in the region to provide a complete historical understanding of events that occur in te region so that students are more familiar and love their region through cultural relics.

Abstract

Rumah Limas is a from of the local wisdom of the Palembang community, also a a reflection of culture. The concept of the values contained in the local wisdom of the pyramid house means that humans are indirectly connected to the creator. Islamic influence is highly reflected in ornaments, carvings, in the crontuction process, salvation ceremonies carried out during the construction process, the meaning of each room is in the Rumah Limas, and also the concepts of beliefs about construction. These values are a reflection of the norms that are carried out in the life pg the Palembang community who uphold the mores and have a high religious spirit.

Abstract

This study aims to introduce local history teaching materials (modules) to students of SMA Negeri 1 Gorontalo. By using qualitative descriptive methods, this study seeks to explore student’s understanding of the importance of understanding local history conducted into teaching materials. Based on the research finding, students strongly needed local history teaching materials to understanding the history of Gorontalo collectively. From the results of interviews done to history teachers and students, it can be concluded that it is really important to use teaching materials as a companion of textbooks that have been used in the process of learning history. In addition, the results of interviews done to students it is obtained taht there is a complaint of the of textbooks as a learning media of history, without applying a varied learning process.
