Abstract

Overseas Indonesian schools in Kuala Lumpur were established to meet the educational needs of children of diplomats or local staff at the Indonesian representative office. In addition, it is also for children of Indonesian citizens who work in related countries and live in that country. Along with the high dynamics of community interaction between friendly countries, the Kuala Lumpur International School of Indonesia also functions as a balanced and comprehensive service for education and development of Indonesian culture in the local country. This research aims to determine how the Living Curiculum applies to the conditions of students and the environment at Kuala Lumpur Foreign Schools. This research was conducted qualitatively, namely using the perspective of the participants as an illustration in getting the results of the research. The results of the research at SIKL (Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur) apply a national curriculum but are tailored to the needs of students, especially those who live in Kuala Lumpur, why is that, because the conditions of students in Kuala Lumpur are different from those of students in Indonesia. The implementation of the Living curiculum or life curriculum at SIKL has two learning models, namely Learning at School (LAS) and Learning at Home (LAH). The Living curiculum application is carried out to create a new generation that is superior, intelligent and has a high national personality.

Abstract

Language is a system, meaning that the language is formed by a component that is permanently patterned and can be explored. As a system, language is not only systematic but also systemic. By systemic, it means that the language is arranged according to a certain pattern, not arranged randomly or carelessly. Whereas systemic means, the language system is not a single system but consists of subsystems. The ability to read skills is a very important skill in life, not only important in educational life, but also very important in social life. By reading students will know more about everything, students will also have broader knowledge and insights. Reading skills are the main capital of students. With this ability, students can learn other sciences, can communicate their ideas and be able to express themselves.

Abstract

According to Djamarah, learning with process skills "aims to improve the ability of students to understand, realize and master a series of activities related to learning outcomes that have been achieved by students". According to Roestiyah, the purpose of the learning process is a very important component in the learning strategy; where students want to take it, what students must have, it all depends on the goals to be achieved. According to Indrawati as follows: process skills are social intellectual skills needed to be able to further develop their knowledge or concepts. With these skills, students have the opportunity to be able to acquire new concepts or information - new information. Learning and teaching are inseparable concepts. Beajar refers to what a person must do as a subject in learning. Meanwhile, teaching refers to what a teacher should do as a teacher. Two teaching and learning concepts carried out by students and teachers are integrated in one activity. Between the two, there was an interaction with the teacher. The abilities that students have from the teaching and learning process alone must be able to get results through one's creativity without the intervention of other people as teachers.

Abstract

The current problem faced regarding environmental condition is the low public awareness to protect and preserve the environment. It is because of the lack of society’s discipline in protecting the environment, so it needs something to track their discipline attitude to take care of the environment. Here I focus on the students' discipline attitude as an object of my research. Thus, this research aimed to produce a discipline attitude assessment instrument using Likert scale and to find out the validity and feasibility of the discipline attitude assessment instrument using Likert scale for thematic learning in fourth grade students of elementary school about environmental discipline. This research implemented research and development (R&D) design. The instrument validity was analyzed by an attitude assessment expert with a score of 85.7%, by an instructional design expert with a score of 91.8%, and by a linguist with a score of 91.3%. Based on the validations of those three aspects, the score was categorized as ‘very high’. Therefore, the developed discipline attitude assessment instrument using Likert scale is very feasible to use.

Abstract

This research aimed at finding how does the student’s difficulties in interpreting the message of the listening comprehension, and to know the factors causes of students’ difficulties in interpreting message of listening comprehension for the eleventh-grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Mardhatillah NW Penakak in the school year 2020/2021. The sample of this research was the Eleventh-Grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Mardhatillah NW Penakak. The number of population was 29 students. This research was using qualitative descriptive. The data was gathered by interview, observation and documentation. The result of this research was the Eleventh-Grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Mardhatillah NW Penakak difficult to interpreted message of listening comprehension. It was based on three factors influencing their listening were listening material, listener factor, and physical environment. Therefore, accents, pronunciation, speed of speech, insufficient of vocabulary, different accents of the speaker, lack of concentration were major problems encountered by the Eleventh-Grade students of Madrasah Aliyah Mardhatillah NW Penakak.

Abstract

There has been destruction on this earth both on land and in the ocean as a result of the act of human hands (Al- Qur'an, Ar-Rum; 41). Floods, landslides, forest and land fire which are the result of illegal logging, land burning, forest encroachment are clear evidence of fragments of the above verses of the Qur'an. Though man sent by God Almighty Allah as a leader of the earth who should take care and sustain the environment, and Muslims in particular are assigned as a mercy of the universe (rahmatan lil alamin). Seeing this situation, it needs a Muslim who can be a transformer, driver, accelerator, trigger, and protector to guide human in maintaining and utilizing the environment wisely. On the island of Lombok, socio-culturally in which the figure of Tuan Guru as is the informal leader that considered will be capable of carrying this heavy task. Tuan Guru Haji (TGH) Sibawaihi is a figure who considered has the ability of being the Muslim Scholar (Ulama) who plays an important role in environmental conservation, especially in Lombok Island. This is because he has a complete Tuan Guru type which considered as the requirements of being Environment based da’wah, he has the type of Tuan Guru intellectual, Tuan Guru Pesantren, Tuan Guru Guru Panggung and Tuan Guru Tarekat. Besides, he is also well known as a Tuan Guru who full of motivation and strong on act, innovation and smart on concept, inspire and transform the social-culture life. Lastly his philosophy on concept and act is based on Qur’an, Hadits and the full of fear of almighty Allah SWT.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of level differences in Problem Based Learning and Discovery Learning model on student’s critical thinking by meta-analysis studies in Mathematics learning, by collecting several relevant journals through Google Scholar. This study uses the Ancove Test to determine the average difference Test in learning model, which has met the Prerequisite Test, then the Effect size is calculated. The result is normal, homogeneous and linear data were obtained with a significance value>0,05. In Ancova Test, the result Discovery Learning is more effective than Problem Based Learning. This is obtained from the results of the posttest scores of 78.4450 for the Problem Based Learning and 83.5840 for the Discovery Learning models. At the Fcount obtained is 7,181, and the Ftable obtained is 3,59, it can be stated that Fcount > Ftable, namely with a value of 7,181 > 3,59 and significance of 0,016 < 0,05. From these results prove that there is a significant difference between the Problem Based Learning and Discovery Learning models on student’s critical thinking in Mathematics learning. In determining the Effect size, it produces a value of 0,0302, it can be stated a moderate influence on student’s critical thinking in Mathematics learning.

Abstract

The research was conducted to understand the influence of discovery learning models on student cognitive learning outcomes. The development of a learning model is needed to improve the quality of students in school so that it can directly improve the learning outcomes of students, the application of less attractive learning models will make students feel bored and affect the learning outcomes of students be less than optimal. This study uses the Meta-Analysis design, Meta-Analysis in this study to examine the effectiveness of the Discovery Learning learning model on student cognitive learning outcomes. From the results of the analysis of 20 studies, it was found that the effect size obtained was 1.86, so it could be said that learning carried out using the Discovery Learning model affected improving cognitive learning outcomes of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the independence of Distance Learning learning in Madrasah Ibtidiyah students Nurul Iman Sindet Lami Besuk Probolinggo during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research uses a qualitative approach with case studies. The research method used is qualitative through observation, in-depth interviews, and field observations. The results showed that the application of learning using WAG (WhatsApp Group) as an online learning model in madrasah ibtidaiyah has the same steps for each teacher at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Nurul Iman class VI by utilizing the menu on the WAG (WhatsApp Group), namely: video, voice, discussion, and demonstration. The implication of distance learning in madrasas is the best solution for all teachers in carrying out learning and is very conducive to the Covid-19 pandemic.
