Abstract

Nutayla Nazula, E. Arti Adi,  2020.  Effectiveness planting melaleuca cajuputi in post minning area banko barat PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang  20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Post-mining land has potential damage after mining activities ends, excavating the soil and returning it to the ex-mining pit causes the soil bearing capacity to be low and even damaged so that reclamation with adaptive plants such as melaleuca cajuputi (eucalyptus) is needed. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the growth of melaleuca cajuputi plants in post-mining locations. The research method used is by making field benchmarks to measure and analyze plant growth rates, plant health percentages, plant height and diameter. The results of the analysis of the percentage of plant growth in the three sampling locations showed that the percentage of plant growth was above 90%, so it could be said that the plant growth was in excellent condition. The health level of plants at the East Backfilling Pit 3 and West Backfilling Pit 3 locations showed 100% healthy results for the number of living plants while in the West Backfilling Pit 1 location there were still plants that languished due to lack of plant maintenance. The success of reclamation can be achieved if the plants grow well and are healthy, the percentage of plant growth desired and the number of plants per hectare are achieved. The conclusion from  this research that the planting of melaleuca cajuputi is very effective as a reclamation plant of PT. Bukit Asam, Tbk. because this plant can grow well, adaptive in critical land conditions and provides high economic value and also give benefits to the community.

Namora J. Sihombing M. Rahardjo M. 2020. effect of drying method on volatile compounds in the formation of robusta coffee beans flavor. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The coffee beans drying process still depended on conventional methods, while also influenced by an uncertain climate. This paper is aimed to review the coffee beans drying methods through conventional, greenhouse, cabinet, heat pump, and microwave drying methods upon the volatile compounds content, then get the best drying method. By GC-MS analysis with 0-40 minutes of retention time, founded 6 dominant compounds that are important within flavor formation, such methanethiol; 2,3-butadione; 2,3-pentadione; hexanal; 2-ethylpyrazine; and 2-ethyl-6-methylpyrazine. Seen from effectiveness of drying time, microwave become the best instrument to choose. However inefficient on breaking the precursor into volatile compounds, while heat pump dryer is the most effective method to reduce the water content. Meanwhile, it has ineffectiveness as microwave does. Drying cabinet is the most recommended method, due its temperature stability, and able to reach the effective temperature of Maillard reaction (>120 ˚C), the most important reaction on flavor’s characteristic formation.

Laksmi GS. 2020. Impact of land use change and rainfall on flooding in Pekalongan city, Central Java. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xxx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Pekalongan City is located on the northern coast of Central Java Province which connects Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya. Located on the main route to Java Island, Pekalongan City has strategic economic potential, especially in the industrial sector. This condition caused Pekalongan City to become the area with the highest demographic urbanization value in Central Java in 2006 and led to changes in land cover. Land-use change will have negative impacts if uncontrolled like the reduction in catchment areas, especially if the rainfall is high. This study is a literature study that contains the effect of land-use change and rainfall on flooding in Pekalongan City. Data and information come from various journals related to floods in Pekalongan City. This study aims to analyze the impact of land use change and rainfall on waterways in Pekalongan City. Changes in land cover and rainfall have a strong correlation. The reduced water catchment area causes the increase of flood index. Pekalongan City was categorized as a city that was not prone to flooding in 2011, but in 2017, all villages in North Pekalongan Regency were flooded with an area of 1,249,420 hectares.
