Abstract

Ritonga ES, Istina IN, Usman U, Giri Wibisono MG. 2020. Adaptive study of upland new high yielding paddy locations specific in Riau province. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).New high yielding varieties (VUB) are one of the technology components that are easiest for farmers to adopt. Dissemination of VUB deployments runs relatively quickly when VUB can adapt well to an area, but not all VUB can give the same results in one particular location, including Riau. This study aims to obtain new high yielding varieties of upland rice which are adaptive in a specific site. The research was conduct in the dry land of Harapan Baru village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency from May to August 2020. The test used a randomized block design with five replications. The varieties used are Inpago 8, Inpago 9, Inpago 10, Inpago 11, Inpago 12 and Rindang. Parameters observed included plant height (cm), maximum number of tillers (stems), number of productive tillers (tiller), number of filled grains (grains), number of empty grains (grains), weight of 1000 grains (grams) and productivity (tonnes/ha). Data were analyzed using variance (ANOVA). If there was a difference in the 95% confidence level, the DMRT continued test performed. The results showed that Inpago 8 adapted to the environment and was able to provide the highest productivity (5.9 tonnes/ha) and gives the best preference by farmers.

Abstract

Indratin I, Budihardjo MA, Helmi M. 2020. Distribution of parathion insecticide residue in shallot agriculture land in wanasari sub-district, Brebes regency. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang  20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The use of pesticides in agricultural land tends to be excessive because farmers think that pesticides can increase yields. It can also pollute the environment. Many farmers often use organophosphate insecticides as the efforts in controlling the pests of shallot plant organisms, one of which is Parathion. The use of Parathion has been banned by the Indonesian government since 2015 for agriculture. This research aims to determine the distribution of Parathion residue in the lower red agricultural land in Wanasari sub-district, Brebes Regency. The research was carried out in March - July 2020 in Wanasari sub-district. Soil samples were taken to the Integrated Laboratory of the Indonesian Agricultural Environment Research Institute to be analyzed the residual content of Parathion by using the QueCheRS method. The mapping of the residue distribution method used ArcGIS 10.4 with the Spline interpolation method. The results of laboratory analysis identified the residual content of Parathion between <LoD : 0.0025 mg kg-1 to 0.0956 mg kg-1. The residual content of the Parathion which was identified to exceed the LoD value was spread over 17 soil sampling points, all identified below the MRLs  value. The identified land area in the very low category was 806.08 ha and identified as low was 1,563.81 ha. The distribution of parathion residues in shallot agricultural land in Wanasari sub-district was identified in the very low and low categories, this needs to be watched out for because it is possible for the farmers to still use parathion type insecticides in shallot cultivation.

Abstract

Kurniawan A, Hidayat JW, Amirudin A. 2020. PSociety participation: supporting the success of community forest management. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx.Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).The development of community forestry policies in Indonesia has started since the old order era when the greening movement and the Karang Kitri movement were launched in 1956. The target of this movement is to plant yards and lands belonging to the community in the form of empty lands with useful plants, the results are quite sufficiently satisfying, especially in Java Island (Gunungkidul) and parts of Madura Island which were previously barren to become green areas. The success of community forest development and management cannot be separated from community participation, both direct and indirect participation. Community participation is their participation in an activity. In general, in community forest management, there are several activities including planning, planting, maintenance, harvesting, marketing, monitoring evaluation, and institutions. The extent of community involvement and participation in every stage of community forest management will be discussed in this article. It is hoped that high community participation will be in line with the level of success of community forest management so that a sustainable community forest will be realized. Besides, it is hoped that it will have a good impact on the economy, ecology, and social for the community.

Abstract

Pratama MA, Anggaraini E, Trianisti D, Putri SD, Situmorang YW. 2020. Attack intensity of spodoptera frugiperda from the vegetation and generative phases of corn as host plants. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang  20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx.  Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).An onslaught of corn plants (zea mays) can be one of the most important problems in corn production, the existence of a Fall armyworm in corn can cause damage and thus reduce economic value even more when the larvae invade the corn in both vegetative and generational growth phases. The purpose of an analysis of the intensity of the pest attack on each phase of corn growth which includes both the vegetation and the generative phase of the corn is one of the key factors in controlling the correct and appropriate conditions comparing the highest levels of the attack on corn. The material used in these observations is a plant that is stricken by the Fall armyworm in the vegetative and generic phases by methods of observation in the field. Based on literature studies, as one of the most strategic commodities, corn cultivation requires proper treatment at each phase of its growth in order to avoid pests. An analysis of the intensity of the pest attack on each phase of its growth can be a key factor in treating treatment as well as correct control over the pest attacks on the corn crop.

Abstract

Dharmawangsa L, NujanahU, Pujiwati H, Setyowati N, Prasetyo P. 2020. Equity value of land and sweet corn poducts intercropping planting patterns with nuts in organic farming. In: Herlinda S et al. (Eds.), Prosiding Seminar Nasional Lahan Suboptimal ke-8 Tahun 2020, Palembang 20 Oktober 2020. pp. xx. Palembang: Penerbit & Percetakan Universitas Sriwijaya (UNSRI).Intercropping is one of the solutions to increase crops with an organic system. This study aims at determining the highest productivity of intercropping sweet corns with beans planted at different times and determining the efficiency of land use when planting beans in the intercropping system. This research was carried out in August - November 2019, in the UNIB Closed Agro Ecosystem Field Laboratory, Air Duku Village, Selupu Rejang District, Rejang Lebong Regency, at an altitude of +1054 m asl, and has been a pesticide-free land for the last 10 years. This study employed a non-factorial completely randomized block design (RAKL) with three replications. The treatment applied was the intercropping system of sweet corns with peanuts, soybeans, and/or long beans planted at 15, 10, 5, and 0 days before planting sweet corns. Variable data were collected and analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) level of 5%. The results showed that the highest productivity was obtained in the intercropping treatment of sweet corn and long beans planted 5 days before planting sweet corn with NKL 1.64. The intercropping system of sweet corns with peanuts, soybeans, and/or long beans with various planting times is more efficient in land use if compared to monocultures with NKL> 1.
