This research is motivated by the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems. Judging from the initial tests of problem solving abilities, there are several indicators of problem solving abilities that cannot be achieved by students. This is because students only listen to what the teacher explains without understanding it, so students have not been able to solve mathematical problems. To overcome this, the researchers used a problem solving approach. This study aims to determine and describe the effect of the problem solving approach on students' mathematical problem solving abilities. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods, the research design is post test only control design. The population in this study were eighth grade students of Merangin Middle School 7 consisting of 3 classes. The sampling technique uses Simple Random Sampling, the selected sample is Class VIII A as the experimental class and Class VIII C as the control class. The data analysis technique used to test hypotheses is the t-test. From the final test data analysis in the experimental class obtained an average of 73.82, while the control class obtained an average of 63.13. Then the data were analyzed using t-test, because the data were normally distributed and homogeneous in variance. Hypothesis test results obtained, = 2.738 and = 1.678. Because> then Ho is rejected and Haa is accepted. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the problem solving approach to the mathematical problem solving ability of students of class VIII SMP N 7 Merangin.

This research is motivated by the lack of student mastery of the ability to solve mathematical problems. Some indicators of solving mathematical problems have not been able to be mastered well by students. For this reason, researchers used the Kumon learning model with the aim of being able to solve mathematical problem solving for eighth grade students of Merangin Public Middle School 19, which would be better than those taught by conventional methods. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The study was conducted on 105th grade students of junior high school totaling 105 people. Data collection techniques through tests of mathematical problemsolving abilities in the form of essay questions. Data analysis techniques using tʹ. From the analysis of the final test data in the experimental class obtained an average of 35.65, while the control class obtained an average of 30.32. Hypothesis test results obtained, t' = 2.8808 and ttable = 2.0336. Because tarithmetic > Ttable then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion of this study is the ability of students to solve mathematical problem solving in class VIII of SMP Negeri 19 Merangin by using the Kumon learning model better than students' mathematical problemsolving abilities taught by conventional methods.

This study aims to describe the differences in learning outcomes of students who memorize multiplication and those who don't memorize multiplication on the subject of mixed fractions. The hypothesis in this study is that there are differences between the learning outcomes of students who memorize multiplication and those who don't memorize multiplication. In this study used experimental research. The sample of this research is the students of class V SD N 116 / VI Muara Siau as an experimental class as many as 23 students and students of class V SD N 108 / VI Lubuk Beringin as control classes as many as 23 students. The instrument in data collection uses essay test techniques. The results of the analysis of research data can be obtained that the mathematics learning outcomes of students who memorize multiplication are better than the mathematics learning outcomes of students who do not memorize multiplication on the 95% confidence level, the average learning outcomes and standard deviations of the two classes compared ie x = 71 , 94, sdx = 9.74 and y = 60.86, sdy = 8.36. From the hypothesis test shows that or 7.1948> 1,721 at the 95% confidence level. Based on the calculation obtained = 7.1948 and = 1.721 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This proves that the mathematics learning outcomes of students who memorize multiplication are higher than the mathematics learning outcomes of students who don't memorize multiplication.

This study aims to describe the increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts by using the improve method in class IX B students at SMP Negeri 17 Merangin in the 2015/2016 Academic Year. The research method is classroom action research. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation, and test the description of the ability to understand concepts. Data analysis techniques using analysis of student activity observations. Based on the results of the study obtained a percentage of student activity 52% in the first cycle and 60.5% in the second cycle or an increase of 8.5%. While the concept comprehension ability test was obtained an average of 69.46 in the first cycle and 80.00 in the second cycle or an increase of 10.54. So it can be concluded that by applying the improve method can improve the ability to understand the concepts of class IX B students of SMP Negeri 17 Merangin in the 2015/2016 academic year.

This study aims to describe the ability to solve mathematical problems using the Discovery Learning method better than conventional learning in the form of algebraic material for class VIII students of SMPN 3 Merangin. Sampling using simple random sampling technique. The selected sample is class VIIIC as an experimental class and class VIIID as a control class. Data collection techniques through tests of mathematical problemsolving ability in the form of essay questions on Algebra material. The data analysis technique used to test hypotheses is the t-test. From the analysis of the final test data in the experimental class obtained an average of 50.25 while the control class obtained an average of 34.248. Hypothesis test results obtained, = 7.260 and = 1.685. Because> then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion of this research is the mathematical problemsolving ability of students of class VIII SMP N 3 Merangin using Discovery Learning Method is better than students' mathematical problemsolving abilities taught by Conventional Learning.

This study aims to describe the differences in mathematical reasoning abilities in terms of self efficacy using the power of two and four type of cooperative learning models with cooperative script learning models. The research method used was an experimental method with a quantitative approach using a 2 x 3 factorial design with a class population of VIII students totaling 4 classes. The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication skills that are taught with a scientific approach better than conventional learning of class IX students of SMP Negeri 43 Merangin 2019/2020 academic year. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Samples are grouped by self-efficacy high, medium and low. Data collection techniques using test and non-test. Analysis technique uses t-test and two-way ANOVA. The test results state that: mathematical communication skills both overall and with self-efficacy high, moderate and low taught with a scientific approach are better than conventional learning, and there is an interaction between scientific approaches and conventional learning in terms of self-efficacy in influencing mathematical communication skills.

Based on the initial test results there are 4 indicators of problematic mathematical reasoning abilities. This study aims to determine and describe the mathematical reasoning ability using the heuristic vee learning strategy in terms of initial abilities better than conventional learning of class IX students of One Roof 12 Sarolangun school year 2019/2020. This study uses a quantitative approach. The method used is an experimental method with a 2 x 3 factorial design involving 2 classes as samples. Sampling using simple random sampling technique. The instrument used in this research is a mathematical reasoning test in the form of description. From the analysis concluded: Hypothesis 1. Mathematical reasoning ability using vee heuristic learning strategies is better than conventional learning Hypothesis 2 Mathematical reasoning ability of students with high initial ability using vee heuristic learning strategies is no better than conventional learning, Hypothesis 3 Mathematical reasoning ability of students with initial ability is using vee heuristic learning strategy better than conventional learning, Hypothesis 4 Mathematical reasoning ability of students with low initial ability to use vee heuristic learning strategy is no better than conventional learning, Hypothesis 5 There is no interaction between vee heuristic learning strategy and conventional learning on ability mathematical reasoning in terms of initial ability.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan proses mengajar dengan menggunakan Perangkat Natural Reader , menggambarkan peningkatan pelafalan dan kemampuan bicara berbahasa inggris dengan menggunakan Perangkat Natural Reader dan menggambarkan sikap siswa ketika menggunakan perangkat Natural Reader dalam proses pembelajaran. Peneliltian ini dilakukan di SMP Islam Terpadu Dhua’fa Merangin dan Partisipannya adalah siswa kelas 8 khusunya kelas B Tahun Akademik 2015-2016. Siswanya berjumlah 14 orang yang berjenis kelamin Perempuan dan berumur sekitar 13-14 tahun.Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dan dilakukan dengan tiga siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tiga kali pertemuan. Dua pertemuan fokus pada pemberian materi serta perangkat dan satu siklus fokus pada pemberian tes kepada siswa untuk mengetahui kemampuan siswa. Didalam pengumpulan data peneliti melakukan observasi, mencatat data, mengambil catatan siswa, rekaman dan tes.Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan nilai siswa dan atmospir kelas didalam mempelajari pelafalan Berbahasa Inggris dan kemampuan Berbicara. Siswanya lebih antusias, aktif, semangat dan percaya diri ketika belajar. Mereka dapat berbahasa inggris dengan baik. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Perangkat Natural Reader dapat meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam melafalkan dan berbicara dalam Bahasa Inggris

This study aims to describe the positive and significant relationship between self-concept and understanding mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMPN 18 Merangin in the 2019/2020 academic year. The study involved two variables, namely the concept of self as an independent variable and understanding of mathematical concepts as the dependent variable. The population in this study was the eighth grade students of SMPN 18 Merangin 2019/2020 Academic Year. The sampling technique uses total sampling. Data collection techniques using a questionnaire (questionnaire) and tests. The instrument used was a statement of self-concept and a matter of understanding mathematical concepts. Data analysis uses Pearson product moment correlation technique which has three conditions, namely random data (random), normal distribution and linear pattern. Therefore, before analyzing the data, an analysis prerequisite test is conducted, namely the normality and linearity test. The results of self-concept data analysis showed 32 students had very positive self-concepts, 23 students had positive self-concepts, and there were no students who had negative or very negative self-concepts. While the level of understanding of students' mathematical concepts obtained by 18 students in the high category, 20 students in the medium category and 17 students in the low category. Overall class VIII students have a very positive self-concept and understanding of mathematical concepts is moderate. From the results of hypothesis testing it can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between self-concept and the understanding of mathematical concepts of eighth grade students of SMPN 18 Merangin 2019/2020 Academic Year. The magnitude of the coefficient of determination is 11.7%, which means that 11.7% of students' understanding of mathematical concepts is determined by the student's self-concept and 88.3% is determined by other factors.
