Jurnal Ilmu Keperawatan Jiwa [e-ISSN 2621-2978] is a means of developing and publishing scientific works for researchers, lecturers and practitioners of mental nursing published by the Persatuan Perawat Nasional Indonesia Jawa Tengah. Jurnal Ilmu Keperawatan Jiwa is an electronic journal with an open access journal system published twice a year, namely in May and November. Jurnal Ilmu Keperawatan Jiwa publishes articles within the scope of mental nursing broadly but is limited, especially in the field of mental nursing in healthy, risk and disturbance groups. Articles must be the result of research, case studies, results of literature studies, scientific concepts, knowledge and technology that are innovative and renewed within the scope of mental nursing science both on a national and international scale.

Abstract

Self-esteem is an attitude or feeling of confidence in its own ability so that the individual concerned is not too anxious in any action. Objective: Know the difference in the confidence level before and after the provision of interpersonal communication training in Role play method in youth Orphanage Ar – Rodiyah. Research methods: : This type of research using quantitative studies with the design of the quasi experiment. The population in this study was all adolescent orphanages Ar-Rodiyah Semarang.  The sampling technique used is perposive sampling with a total of 10 respondents.  Data collection using confidence questionnaires . Data processed with paired samples test . Results of the study: That the average self-confidence score in the respondent before interpersonal communication training in the role play method is 109.3, the lowest score is 104 and the highest is 110. An average of the respondents ' confidence after interpersonal communication training is 114.8. The lowest lowest score is 109.00 and the highest is 117.00. There is a difference in the level of youth confidence before and after in providing interpersonal communication training in role play method, with a P value of 0.000 < α (0.05).  Conclusion: There is a difference in the level of youth confidence before and after the provision of interpersonal communication training.

Abstract

One type of child with special needs is Down Syndrome. His existence will affect the family with its limitations. The title of this study is "Description of The Implementation of Early Intervention Program in The Acquisition of The First Language of Down Syndrome Children Through the Application of The Concept of Family Quality Of Life". The purpose of the study was to describe the implementation of early intervention in the acquisition of the first language of Down Syndrome children. The research method is qualitative with qualitative descriptive approach. The data is obtained by interview and observation methods. The study subjects were families with down syndrome children. Data processing is done by means of content analysis. The results showed that (1) early intervention programs through the application of the concept of family quality of life can help parents of down syndrome children overcome problems in the acquisition of first language (2) FQoL dimensions in the family can realize the quality of life of the family, especially children (3) the need for expert cooperation in the field of services for children with special needs to improve the knowledge and understanding of parents in providing early intervention in children with special needs.

Abstract

The sophistication of smartphone technology is growing rapidly and provides convenience in all aspects as well as an important need which is also popular among all circles including students, which unconsciously makes them feel anxious if they are far from their smartphone or what is called nomophobia, but there are factors that affect nomophobia, one of them self control. Self-control is very important in one's life, it functions as self-control over behavior in everyday life. The purpose of this study is to analyze the relationship between self-control and nomophobia in undergraduate nursing students. This research method is correlational. The population amounted to 614 people with a proportional stratified random sampling technique and the number of samples that had to be taken was 86 people. Data collection uses a self-control scale adapted from vindabayu(2016) validity coefficient between 0.383-0.718 and reliability 0.928 and the nomophobia questionnaire adapted from (Putri, 2019) validity coefficient between 0.332-0.805 and reliability 0.924. The data analysis of this research is univariate analysis using frequency distribution and bivariate using spearman rank. The results showed that the level of self-control in undergraduate nursing students was classified as moderate as many as 62 students. with a p-value of 0.048, it can be concluded that there is a significant negative relationship between self-control and nomophobia in undergraduate nursing students.

Abstract

Anxiety is often experienced by many people in their daily life. According to data of WHO, there are about 35 million people affected by depression, 60 million people with bipolar disorder, 21 million affected by schizophrenia, and 47.5 million affected by dementia. Meanwhile in Indonesia, the prevalence of people with mental emotional disturbance with symptomps of depression and anxiety aged 15 years or over reaches 9.8% of the Indonesian population, and the prevalence of mental disorders reaches 7 per mil. One of the non-pharmacological therapies that can help to reduce anxiety is the Progressive Muscle Relaxation therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of Progressive Muscle Relaxation therapy on reducing anxiety. The method of writing this article uses Systematic review through article searching process  on electronic databases (Science Direct, ProQuest, Scopus, and Google Scholar). This review uses keywords namely  "Psychotherapy" AND "Progressive Muscle Relaxation" AND "Anxiety" based on the PRISMA chart. The analysis was carried out on 12 rele.vant articles published in 2015-2020. Based on the results of the analysis, it was found that Progressive Muscle Relaxation Therapy is a psychotherapy that can be used effectively to reduce anxiety that can be done without spending money and can be done with flexible time.

Abstract

Suicide is cause of death in 15 -29 years age group number second  in 2014. This study aims to explain related to internal and eksternal factors and suicide idea among adolescent. Study literature review was used in this study with sample adolescent age 10 – 19 years conducted three electronic databases (Scopus, Science Direct and ProQuest) which published between January 2015 - September 2020. Analysis of selected journals used prisma check list by assessing a suitable journal. with the aim of review literature topics ranging from title, abstract, background, research methods, research results.  Journal quality was assessed by 3 researchers using critical appraisal checklist from The Joanna Briggs Institute and process selection a literature using The Center for Review and Dissemination. Internal factors cause suicidal ideation are biological, demographics, psychological, deviant behavior, and lifestyle. External factors cause suicidal ideation are negative life experiences, family, economic, friendship, technology and education. We found that peer support, good relationships with classmates and teachers, physical activity, a good diet and positive religious coping were protective factors against suicidal ideation. Internal factors such as history of previous suicide, depression, anxiety and external factors such as adequate food intake, history of suicide in family are variables that have highest potential to cause suicidal ideation.

Abstract

The COVID 19  pandemic has an impact on all aspects of life, including nurses in hospitals who treat COVID 19  patients. The impact of COVID 19  is not only on the physical aspect but also on psychosocial problems. The psychosocial impact of COVID 19  on nurses is due to the risk of being infected and the perception that they can infect other people, the use of PPE, stigma in society, and changes to health protocol guidelines. This study used a descriptive technique with a total sampling of 31 nurses. The questionnaire used is the SRQ-29. The results of this study indicate that the mental emotional conditions of the nurses who handled the suspected COVID 19  and COVID 19  confirmation patients were mostly in good health or did not experience symptoms of mental emotional disorders amount  29 nurses (93.55%). In the questionnaire related to the use of psychoactive substances, most nurses did not use psychoactive substances, amount 31 nurses (100%). On the questionnaire related to psychotic symptoms, most of them did not experience psychotic symptoms amount 31 nurses (100%). In the PTSD symptom questionnaire, most of them did not experience PTSD symptoms, amount 22 nursesc (71.97%).

Abstract

The increasing number of COVID-19 cases and misinformation is confusing and raises public anxiety. People become worried and anxious about the current situation. The pandemic causes psychological changes such as stress, anxiety, and depression. This study aims to determine depression, anxiety, and stress levels in Tabanan District's community during the pandemic. This research was a descriptive-analytic study using quantitative research methods with a cross-sectional research design. The population in this study was the people of Tabanan District. This study uses the DASS-21 questionnaire. The analysis results showed that the respondents are predominantly (73%) have normal conditions in depression. The level of community anxiety was in the normal range (65,8%). The stress level was also in the normal range (70,8%). The condition shows that the dominant community is at the normal level for depression, anxiety, and stress. However,3.8%ven had a severe level of depression, 6% had an extremely severe level of anxiety, and 3.8% had an extremely severe stress level. The number that is not so big must get more attention from the government so that the respondent's condition does not worsen, which can cause harm to themselves and those around them during the COVIC-19 pandemic.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has a major impact, especially on adolescents. This pandemic demands new habits of social distance, home quarantine, learning from home, limiting teenagers from playing and going out of the house with peers. This makes adolescents feel depressed until they experience mental disorders in the form of anxiety. Anxiety that occurs in adolescents can be overcome with music therapy. Music therapy is a therapy that does not have an adverse effect on adolescents and can reduce anxiety levels by increasing endorphins. This type of research is Quasy experimental pre test post test with control group with the sampling technique with purposive sampling. Music therapy was given for 6 days with a duration of 20-30 minutes. The type of music given is in accordance with the music that the respondent likes. Media providing music therapy with mp4. The level of anxiety in this study was measured using the DASS 42 questionnaire with a reliability of r = 0.82 and a validity test with a Cronbach alpha result of 0.85. The results of the paired t-test showed that the value of p = 0.000 in the intervention group with a mean before the intervention was 12.5 (moderate anxiety) and after being given the intervention in the form of music therapy the mean decreased to 5.5 (normal anxiety) and obtained a value of p = 0.000 and in the control group with a mean 12.3 (moderate anxiety) and after getting the mean 15.05 (severe anxiety). Music therapy given to adolescents has benefits in reducing anxiety so that it can be recommended in providing nursing care.

Abstract

HIV / AIDS is a chronic disease that can affect all aspects of life of sufferers. People with HIV / AIDS (PLWHA) experience problems both physically and psychologically which lead to the quality of life of the individual, therefore the ability to manage and rise from the various pressures experienced with resilience is needed. Resilience is an effort that is owned by a person to be able to withstand changes, illness conditions or difficulties experienced. Resilience functions to cope with, control and overcome negative experiences in life, so that PLWHA can adapt. this study used a descriptive correlation design with a cross-sectional study. Sampling method was using total sampling obtained 50 samples. The data used are primary data by collecting ODHA in one place and given a questionnaire of relevance and quality of life. Data were analyzed using Rank Spearman test. The results of resilience in PLWHA were 39 people (78%) in the medium category, and the quality of life for PLHIVs was 33 people (66%) with moderate category. Spearman rank test results with a value of α = 0.05, the results obtained p value = 0.00 with value of r = 0.785, which means there is a relationship of resilience with quality of life in people with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) (p<α) with strong strength and positive correlation direction. In people with HIV/AIDS, it is not only enough to manage, organize themselves so that life goals are achieved, but also the ability to survive and adapt to the stresses experienced so that PLWHA can have a better quality of life.

Abstract

Students with Special Needs Cerebral Palsy are individuals who take higher education but experience deviation in motor function, especially movement of muscles and have obstacles in the development of motion, causing limited activity. The purpose of this study was to increase the self-confidence of students with special needs Celebral Palsy through Person Centered Therapy counseling. This research is a type of qualitative research with a case study method. The subject of this research is students with special needs Celebral Palsy with the initials "P" who are 19 years old and have low self-confidence. While the research data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were Pattern Matching, Explanation, and Time Series Analysis. The result of this study was that “P” students had wrong perceptions about friends, lecturers and the environment because of their physical conditions. The impact is that “P” students feel anxious and depressed so they hesitate to express their opinions when doing activities both on campus and outside campus, are easily discouraged, are awkward in acting, are afraid of presenting in front of the class, and are afraid to ask or answer questions.
