Abstract

Sakubun is a combination of courses between the language and writing skills. Normally, Japanese language teachers regard this course as hard and difficult. Besides examining the grammar, the teacher has to think really hard to guess the real meaning of the sentences or expressions that the students want to say. Therefore, in order to simplify the process of checking and grading, the writer has conducted a small research toward a Sakubun class. This research was directed to the 7th semester Sakubun class using the Cognitive and the Constructivism theory. Those theories were implemented in four different media as part of the class course material. By differentiating teaching media, learners will not easily become bored during learning process. Teachers could also easily divide the type of materials into two namely: visual and the non-visual, which made learners could easily develop their creativity based on their own personal preferences. The result of the research has shown that there was an improvement of skill in the small group in applying the grammar. This research was conducted during the short semester starting in June until August 2011.

Abstract

There are many methods offered to teach in a university level. In teaching English Entrant, one course of general English courses at Binus University, a lecturer needs to choose an appropriate method. One appropriate method used is cooperative learning one. In this method, students in a class are divided into groups called cell group. In the cell group, they needed to do some activities independently. Based on the above reason, this paper aimed to find out whether the cell group independent activities impact the students’ score achievement in reading and listening. The data for the paper was the students’ scores of listening and reading they gained in mid semester test, final test English Entrant and the weekly reports of students’ cell activities. The method used to analyze the data was percentage number to compare the scores and cell group activities for both listening and reading. The result shows that there was a significant higher achievement of the students in both listening and reading either the number of cell group activities 1-3 or 4-6 times of activities. It could be concluded that the cell group activities gave good impact in supporting students to achieve high score in reading or listening.

Abstract

Indonesian Television Broadcasting has been progressing rapidly both in number of television stations and programs. In fact, almost all of national private televisions broadcasting programs were always about Jakarta. Article aimed to analyze on how the function of media which was not only provided information but it also supported the values of community and its sustainability. It related to the media content. The media content was not only determined by internal media factors but also the external ones. Finally, the owners of the media became the one who determined how media content was produced and formed. Therefore, to avoid information which was not monopolized by one party, the community should have various informations to choose. Finally, it is concluded that rules in broadcasting television has to consider the equality of information for people

Abstract

TCFL teachers’ competencies are a new and popular field of research in the Chinese language. These competencies will relate to the knowledge and skills that TCFL teachers should have, such as the knowledge in linguistics and Chinese linguistics, theory of the second language, learning strategies and teaching methodologies. Beside that, teacher should have a good awareness, psychological and emotional control. This article summarizes the results of literacy study of TCFL teachers’ competencies. At first, these seem difficult to achieve, but by consistently accumulating teachers' knowledge and skills, its can help to give new TCFL teachers a clearer understanding of their role in education and help them make preparations. Accumulating knowledge and skills, controlling the role of psychology and emotions are very important that TCFL teachers must have as their lifestyle.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between self-concept and anxieties of the JPK PT. Jamsostek (Persero) participants who were ill with the decision to take advantage of the handling of the specialist physician. The measurement of self-concept used in this study is compiled based on the dimensions of self-concept developed by Fits, consisting of self-identity, self-behavioral, and self-judging. The measurement of anxiety refers to Mc Neil, et al, consisting of cognitive components, physiological responses, and behavior. The measurement of the decision-making refers to Hunsaker, et al, consisting of information complexity and level of focus. The study was conducted on 109 JPK participants treated at the hospital in the working area of PT. Jamsostek (Bandung I) with incidental purposive sampling technique. From the statistic test can be seen that there is a relationship between self-concept and decision making for treatment to a specialist. There is a relationship between anxieties with making the decision to go to a specialist. There is a relationship between self-concept and anxieties, together with the decision making to go to a specialist.

Abstract

Video Tracking is one of the processes in video postproduction and motion picture digitally. The ability of video tracking method in the production is helpful to realize the concept of the visual. It is considered in the process of visual effects making. This paper presents how the tracking process and its benefits in visual needs, especially for video and motion picture production. Some of the things involved in the process of tracking such as failure to do so are made clear in this discussion.

Abstract

Keigo is variety honorific in Japanese language because there are aspects in which show patterns of respect shown to the listener. Keigo particular use can be seen on the verb form, consisting sonkeigo and kenjougo. The use of particular kinds of Keigo verbs consist of a principled kenjougo sonkeigo and civility. Keigo is important for Japanese learners, especially when they want to communicate attention to issues related between speaker and listener whom we said, what conditions, how the relationship with opponent , and more importantly, how to face protection of the partners. So that communication is established running properly and smoothly between speaker and listener.

Abstract

The awareness that sports was an international science that emerged in the mid of 20th century, and in Indonesia it was officially acknowledged in 1998 by an sport science declaration. The application of psychology in sports was to support the sport talent in a person could be well developed without any constraints in his/her personality. Eksistensialisme  is a branch of the Phylosophy that reflects that men always exists in his/her life. Phylosophgy played important role in integrating many science reviews that could be formulated in sports having ontology, episthemology, and axiology dimensions which was in line with other sciences. Sport Psychology and Phylosophy reviews reveal the importance of the “root” of them in order to develop it, as well as to introduce sport psychology in Indonesia.

Abstract

Office etiquette or office courtesy is a procedure in a person with association or persons outside the organization. Etiquette teaches us to maintain good relations with the person / party. Etiquette becomes an inherent part of an organization because etiquette is not just a tool to assess an appropriate or inappropriate actions of members of the organization, but also the adhesive in the activities of a business transaction; that office image courtesy instrumental in building the organization. Through the courtesy of its contextual office applied through: adjustments to the organizational culture, attitudes toward seniors, standardization attitude towards the stakeholders. Thus, a typical office courtesy can be a differentiation of an organization.
