Abstract

The internet and digital world is one thing that needs to be taken into account by the Company. Business through Internet, known as e-business, is another way to increase the relation between company and customers or prospective customers. Analysis from the view point of customers and the integration of technologies was conducted on 2 examples sites that well known in doing online business but have different history on how it started the e-commerce. They are Amazon and Aquarelle. By comparing the two sites, the characteristics of e-commerce sites could be studied. As a result, there are striking differences between these two sites, where Amazon is more oriented to sales, while Aquarelle more on customer-oriented impact to the design and implementation of their e-business.

Abstract

One key to the success of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is the availability of a clear market for the products. Meanwhile, the fundamental weaknesses faced by SMEs in marketing are low market orientation, weakness in a complex and sharp competition and inadequate marketing infrastructure. Faced with an increasingly open market mechanisms and competitive, market control is prerequisite for improving competitiveness. Therefore, expansion of market access with Web-based Information Technology is now needed as a medium for global communication. One thing that gives a competitive advantage in international trade competition is information technology of electronic commerce or e-commerce. This paper shows the important role of e-commerce for SMEs in Indonesia and how to model the development of e-commerce. This paper intends to show the important role of e-commerce for SMEs in Indonesia and how to model the development of ecommerce.

Abstract

The development of technology and the demands on the speed of the construction project cause the material manufacturers compete to create a new material that can accelerate the process to build a building. Wall is one of the non-structural elements on a building. Both low-rise building and high-rise building are no doubts using this material. Wall works can use two different types of material, such as brick wall made of red clay and light brick wall made of cement, silica sand, and limestone. In the construction process wall is needed in a large amount of area, so the difference of the price should be examined in choosing the type of the material to gain efficient cost. The purpose of this study is to determine which method of wall construction is more efficient in terms of cost and time, the use of red brick wall or brick wall light. The study was conducted using survey, comparative, literature study method. Results indicate that both methods have advantages and disadvantages. Red brick wall method is cheaper in the cost of the process, while the lighter brick wall method much faster in the process.

Abstract

Entrepreneurship developed among BINUS University students is in line with university mission, which is to produce 1 entrepreneur out of 3 graduates. This study aims to find out entrepreneurial behavior among students in BINUS University. The information can be use by University to develop appropriate entrepreneur program based on their behavior. This study takes samples from four departments: Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, and Mathematics-Statistics. The questionnaire is used as behavioral measurementtools and distributed to active -students in forth department. The result is processed using SPSS software. Based on the results of the questionnaire, there is no significant difference among students of the four departments inacceptance of entrepreneurial activities. Students assume that entrepreneurship is positive things to do which is supported by family, friends, and the University. There is a positive correlation between the desire to start entrepreneurship with the family support (r = .454) and with usage of e-media and e-social networking by students (r = .336). Students also prefer food and beverage, fashion, computer and its accessories, gadgets, education as area of business. The main obstacle in starting entrepreneurial activities is availability of both capital and time. Therefore, the support of BINUS is needed related to capital management, understanding of what it is capital and how to start an entrepreneurship, knowledge concerning the entrepreneurship management. University should help students about how to manage their time between managing the businessand their activities as students.

Abstract

World Vision Indonesia has several training programs with a very large total cost for 936 employees located in various parts of Indonesia, so that the manual training is considered less effective. Therefore, this research is conducted to design a learning management system application that supports the training process within the organization, and determine the needs for training materials. This research implemented strategyanalysis based on matrix EFE, IFE, SWOT, IE, and QSPM, as well as analysis and design of materials using Addie model. Meanwhile the design used a structured design method or OOAD. This research resulted in an application that supports the learning management system training process within the organization, provides accessible training materials by all employees at any time, and provides various features that creates training activities more effectively. The implementation of learning management system supports the company's strategy primarily to improve the quality of employees as well as reduces communication barriers between trainers and trainees both within and outside of training time.

Abstract

WiFi Protected Setup (WPS) is a standardized function supported by numerous vendors of wireless routers and access point to help set up connection to a wireless local area network. It is designed to simplify the set up and generally enabled by default. Due to design flaw, the WPS or QSS PIN is susceptible to a brute forceattack. In this paper, we test the security vulnerability occurred, evaluate the performance and give recommendations to anticipate the attack.

Abstract

An integrated information system is a necessity for a company to help solve problems in business transactions management. SAP application is an application that is able to provide solutions to such problems. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the running business processes on the Material Management module; evaluate the performance of the running SAP systems associated with the implementation and maintenance of SAP applications as well as to give sugestions based on the development of evaluation results obtained, in terms of business processes, performance, and financial. Utilized for analysis is IT Balanced Scorecard method, while ASAP (Accelerated SAP) method is used for the system development. This study produced an analysis of the evaluation of the enterprise business processes in implementing the SAP development of ERP system modules Material Management.

Abstract

Dual tree complex wavelet transform (DTCWT) is widely used for representation of face image features. DTCWT is more frequently used than Gabor or Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) because it provides good directional selectivity in six different directions. Meanwhile, non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) is also frequently used since it can reduce high dimensional feature into smaller one without losing important features. This research focused on comparison between DTCWT and NMF as feature extraction and Euclidean Distance for classification. This research used ORL Faces database. Experimental result showed that NMF provided better results than DTCWT did. NMF reached 92% of accuracy and DTCWT reached 78% of accuracy.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the organization needs of PT Golden Eagle Indonesia to control and manage the data and information of operational transaction. The result of analysis is used as a base for developing a new integrated system that can be the solution for company needs and to face the competition. The activity inanalysis and design is focused in ticket reservation activities, as the main business of the company. These needs will be documented using unified modeling language. There is an expectation that this system will ease the company in doing their activity in ticket reservation. This system will also minimize the data lost and human error usually caused by manual process of transactional data storage.

Abstract

Seepage causes weakening of levees and can cause levee failure or overtopping due to levee settlement. A numerical method, called the boundary fitted coordinate (BFC) method, was developed to determine seepage through a levee and the transient head on the seepage path due to the changing water level during a flood. The BFC transforms the physical coordinate system into a computational curvilinear coordinate system. The grid generated in this method accurately represents the boundary of the system regardless of its complexity.
