Abstract

This article discusses several paradigms used in developing computer programs which is varied from the classical ? goto programming, until the modern one ? object oriented programming. In addition, the main features of each paradigm, the advantages and disadvantages of each paradigm and the comparation of procedural programming, the object oriented programming, and an additional feature like generic programming for the object oriented programming are also discussed in this article.

Abstract

This article discusses how to find a solution of a recursive function such as Fibonacci or factorial numbers without repetition. Therefore, a recursive function is considered a fixed-point of non-recursive function. To calculate the fixed-point, we can use Y Combinator, a non-recursive functions to perform memoizing recursive function. This method can significantly reduce the execution time of recursive functions.

Abstract

To increase sales, the management and sales department requires accurate, relevant and up-to-date information to support its function. Currently the amount of outstanding accounts receivables becomes one of the obstacles. So, credit limits criteria are applied as one of the effort to emphasis the outstanding receivables. Surely it will have an impact on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of operations and ultimately will enhance the competitiveness. This research was done in three stages, data collection, analyzing the system requirements of current system to synergy with company?s target, and the results of needs analysis are developed into a new accounting information system with object-oriented approach and UML diagrams.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze and design the application of e-service portal to help Marketing BINUS university to improve the speed and ease of service for Prospect students with the integration of transaction and information services required prospective students, and can be presented in a personalized to adds its own interesting experience for user. It would create a competitive advantage of the University which also potentially triggering an increase in the number of intake students. The methodology used is the method of analysis, which reviews and interviews conducted directly to the field, distributing questionnaires, observing and analyzing the data and needs, and using the design method, which includes design of business models, user interface design and database design. Results to be achieved is a web portal, where the system can facilitate prospective students to obtain the desired information services in full, and with a presentation that can be personalized and make transactions easier and faster. Conclusions obtained are BINUS University can take advantage of e-service in a web portal for prospective new students as supporting its competitive advantage in the utilization of information technology and support one of its primary missions to create service excellence in all fields.

Abstract

It has been known that a group pile lateral capacity is smaller than the sum of each pile capacity composing the group. A reduction factor, also known as efficiency factor, is required to determine the effective lateral capacity of group piles. To the authors? knowledge, in most geotechnical text books, only the spacing of piles is considered in evaluating the pile group lateral capacity. No consideration on the effects of soil stiffness modulus and the total number of piles forming the group is taken into account. This research tried to investigate the influence of those factors by using geotechnical 3D finite element software, namely Plaxis 3D foundation. It is found that the bigger the number of piles in a group, the lower the efficiency factor is; the higher the soil stiffness modulus, the greater the efficiency is.

Abstract

The research aims to determine whether there is a relationship between the quality of sales information systems and user performance. The research method uses survey correlation techniques. Data are collected using a questionnaire previously calibrated to test the validity (product moment) and instrument reliability (Alpha Cronbach). The population used is users of information systems that are sales employees. There is a total sample of 20 people obtained, with Non-Probability Sampling that is saturated sampling / survey. Data analysis is performed using regression techniques of simple linear and simple correlation. Prior to analysis, test of analysis requirements need to be done, which are normality and homogeneity test. The results show acorrelation coefficient of 0:51 or 51% which means that there is a positive relationship on medium level between the Effectiveness of sales Information Systems with Users performance. The coefficient of determination is 0:26or 26%. This means that 26% of the variation in user performance can be explained by the variable Effectiveness of Sales Information Systems. Meanwhile, the remainder which is 74% consists of factors (variables), such as leadership style, work environment, salary and others. It can be concluded from this research that there is a positive correlation (relationship) at medium level which is significant between the Effectiveness of Sales Information System with User Performance, which means that the higher the level of effectiveness of Sales Information System is, the higher the level of user performance will be.

Abstract

Lean production has dramatically lifted the competitiveness of many manufacturing companies and the value they deliver to customers. This project examines the benefit of balancing process and workstation arrangement of dogbone damper in an order that maintains a smooth flow of materials and component through the process. The analysis begins from calculating takt value to establish the required rate of production. From here, any total cycle time exceeding takt time is called a bottleneck process and should become a target of the improvement. Next, arranging people and equipment into cells has great advantage in terms of achieving lean goals. One advantage of cells is the one-piece flow concept, which states that each product moves through the process one unit a time without sudden interruption, at a pace determined by the customer?s need.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a system that could give information to customers about the provided product and also as the order media. The research method used is based on the principle of The Seven Stages of Internet Marketing to create e-marketing application, also library research, field research, analysis and designing methodology by doing survey to PT JEAH and analyzing the result. So far, the transaction process of PT JEAH is done through manual that is customer came to the store to do purchase transaction. After the e-marketing application is done, it is hoped that could give better service to customers. E-marketing concept in this system will increase efficiency and affectivity especially into order process and product information to community. Based on the research, it is concluded that with this e-marketing application as the center information and purchase media, it is hoped that the company could get loyalty from the customers and gather new market in online users.

Abstract

Technology improvement has brought much changes in how businesses and organizations have to run properly in global competitions. But the most important thing is the changing in organizations and people who will operate with the integrations systems. Resistance always happens in every implementations and it will be the main problems in every company. In this paper, it will be explored more in details about the cause and effect from the changes that will happens before and after the implementations, including how to utilize the result of the implementations in order to get the benefits for the business. Another important things are including the strategy and planning of changes that should be effectively implemented and given the maximum contributions to support the future development and synergy with business planning. This paper is also given the guidance about how to act and do some preventive actions in managing better ways in setting up the planning of changes in implementations of Information Technology and systems in the best ways.

Knowledge management is not a new concept but its use in the firm still holds a very important role. This paper aims to further introduce the concept of knowledge management, which in its implementation has so many benefits that can be gained, barriers that can interfere, and things that must be considered. From thebenefits and barriers of knowledge management?s implementation, we can analyze the future of knowledge management use. To support this paper, data and information are searched through some books, journals, and articles that related with topic. The result of this paper is a comprehension about knowledge management concept and its implementation to firm.
