Abstract

Death got more attention, in the event of death the funeral ceremony will be performed. In a ceremony tailored to the age and social status of the deceased. The funeral procession comes armed with the grave and the bodies of the dead pet. Form of burial was found at the site in Kampung Pasir Panapasyem Bamboo Supiori Eastern District, is a type of burial in the cave / recess in the form of burial types of primary (direct) without a container.

Abstract

Correctional results of archaeological research has been done by the Institute for Archaeology Jayapura consists of exhibitions, seminars, publications in print media, publications in electronic media, publishing, film documentary, archaeological workshops, and websites. Corrections is expected to benefit the academic, practical, and ideological. Correctional activities do not reach out to more stake holders, it is because of the vast territory of Papua and geographical conditions that are difficult to reach, correctional activities for this new archaeological limited in the district / town the Jayapura and District Keerom. Another constraint is human resources and limited funds.

Abstract

Sejarah migrasi di Asia Tenggara telah menjadi subjek banyak spekulasi dengan memanfaatkan ciri-ciri morfologis rangka dan gigi manusia, perbandingan-perbandingan dan persebaran linguistic dan cultural, perbandingan-perbandingan genetika manusia, filogeni dan DNA kuno hewan-hewan dan tanaman-tanaman dan koevolusi bahasa dan genetika manusia. Menurutpola migrasi di Indonesia ini, kami telah mencoba juga untuk membangun hipotesis tentang sejaah rasial dan penghunian Kepulauan Indonesia sejak Neolitik sampai sekarang dari bukti modifikasi-modifikasi gigi yangpernah ditemmukan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan modifikasi-midifikasi gigi yang pernah dilakukan di Indonesia berdasarkan bukti-bukti paleoantropologis-arkeologis. Di samping itu, penelitian ini juga telah menginvestigasi dan menunjukkan identitas rasial penduduk Indonesia dari Neolitik sampai sekarang. Bahan penelitian meliputi gigi-geligi tengkorak manusia dewasa yang berasal dari beberapa situs paleoantropologis-arkeologis di Jawa, Bali, Nusa Tenggara Timur, Sulawesi dan Papua, serta sampel gigi-geligi permanen isolatif populasi Bali modern. Metode-metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif komparatif visual, dan penelusuran sumber-sumber pustaka arkeologis dan etnografis klasik. Sumber-sumber etnografis Indonesia yang terkait dengna modifikasi-modifikasi gigi juga telah dihadirkan. Bukti-bukti ini telah diupayakan untuk menunjukkan kontinuitas modifikasi-modifikasi gigi di Indonesia. Fungsi-fungsi modifikasi gigi telah diupayakan untuk ditampilkan, baik yang terkait dengan ritus inisiasi maupun estetika. Para peneliti bermaksud untuk mengeksploitasi bahwa modifikasi-modifikasi gigi ini terkait dengan migrasi dan kronologi persebaran ras-ras manusia di Asia Tenggara ke Kepulauan Indonesia dan penghuniannya dari 4000 tahun yang lalu sampai sekarang. Ras-ras manusia ini adalah Australomelanesoid dan Mongoloid yang merupakan populasi-populasi utama yang menghuni kawasan ini.

Abstract

Burial is one of the ways in which to place the corpse. Community in Kampung Kamarisano also recognize the existence of burial is entered in the niche. From the results obtained in the form of niche burial Sirebi Seiwu human skull and some other human bones found on an irregular hole in the niche.

Abstract

For the Biak people, manibob means friend. Manibob is a trade relation, whereas manibob system is a system in which two individuals from two villages or two different locations to see each other through trade relations. Trade relations in the exchange system without use the currency values. The meeting can take two different individuals on closer ties and old. Problems in this paper is whether the system manibob functions in the lives of Biak. The core of this manibob system is a form of reciprocity in Biak people who reactivate the social relations in society.

Abstract

Rock art sites in the area of the cultural assets worth Kaimana high for the sake of history, science and culture, so it’s worth it if it is developed and utilized. It is also considering the condition of the site is supported with the surrounding natural beauty of the ocean and coral islands, as well as the charm, the expanse of the forest in karst area and village-village population is about. To optimize the potential of art rock then needs to be done the study development on rock art sites in the region, as a form of Kaimana policy implementation in the management of cultural heritage and its environment so that it can have an impact on the increase of living adequate for the present society (especially the local community) in the field of persons coming. Results of the survey has been conducted showing that in the process of development of tourism in the region need to involve local communities Kaimana as key stakeholders, both in the planning and implementation of policies in a bottom up, determined policy along community, as well as patisipasi actively involved in community development programs and support the development of business and economics which is the economic base of society, as well as the need to be supported by regulation as runway departure formally related protection, preservation and utilization of cultural objects.

Abstract

Nagari Mahat, located in Lima Puluh Kota Regency, West Sumatera, is a nagari which is rich for its stones. Those stones then become the materials to make the upright monumental stone (menhir) by the local artists. This research then focuses on the typology, function and the meaning of menhir for the community. There are approximately 800 menhirs in Nagari Mahat which are varied in shape, size and design. The data of the research is mainly from menhir in Koto Tinggi Site, Padang Ilalang Site, and Koto Gadang Site. Other than menhir, this research also collects the data about the behaviour of the local community in relation to the menhir they make.The typology of menhir that is classified based on the shape, design, and the technology is 367 menhirs, and from the artifact analysis found that there are 6 types of menhir. Overall the menhir has a distinct shape, there are the hilt of machete and sword, with tendril, double tendril and triangle shaped ornamental patterns. Menhir in Mahat is used as a burial, medium to worship the ancestors, land border, and the central for ceremonial activities. The meaning of its shape and design is symbolic to the one who is buried.

Abstract

The art of painting has emerged thousands of years ago in prehistoric society as an expression of their religious to the ancestor spirits and the power of natural forces around, as well as the lives ofprehistoric humans settled in the highlands pasemah, as an expression of their lives better either by nature or strength of their ancestors expressed in the form of paintings that depicted in various forms and styles. The presence of prehistoric paintings in Pasemah have a specific meaning in life relegi affiliated-but very valuable their magical beauty.
