Floribunda 4(1): 18–20. — Leaf anatomy of Freycinetia javanica and F. scandens differs in the arrangement of stomata and the shape of the cuticles. The leaf anatomy also supports the placement of the two species into two separate sections (Cyrtopoda for F. javanica, Oligostigma for F. scandens).

Muchlis, Tatik Chikmawati & Sobir. 2017. The Diversity of Chempedak [(Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.] in Bengkalis and Padang Islands, Riau. Floribunda 5(7): 239–252. —  Chempedak [Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.]  is a native tropical fruit plant of Indonesia. Riau is one of chempedak distribution regions in Indonesia but the information about its diversity is very limited. The aims of the research are to characterize the morphological characters of chempedak’s accessions in Riau and to describe the diversity. The research was conducted in Bengkalis and Padang Islands, Riau province using exploration method. As many as 21 accessions of chempedak and two accessions of jackfruits were observed using 83 characters based on descriptor of jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus). The analysis of similarity and clustering based on morphological data were done using Simple Matching coefficient and Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmatic Average (UPGMA) method. The diversity of chempedak in Riau were observed on shape of (crown crop, leaf blade, apex & base of leaf, inflorescences, fruit, spine, flake, seed), stalk length, fruit surface and flake colour. The result produced a dendrogram of chempedak in Riau with the similarity index ranged 44 –83%. Keanekaragaman Cempedak [Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.] di Pulau Bengkalis dan Pulau Padang, Riau. Floribunda 5(7): 239–252. —   Cempedak [Artocarpus integer (Thunb.) Merr.] adalah tanaman buah tropis asli Indonesia. Riau merupakan salah satu daerah persebaran cempedak di Indonesia, namun informasi tentang keanekaragamannya terbatas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengkarakterisasi ciri morfologi aksesi-aksesi cempedak di Riau dan mengungkapkan keanekaragamannya. Penelitian dilakukan di Pulau Bengkalis dan Pulau Padang, Provinsi Riau menggunakan metode jelajah. Sebanyak 21 aksesi cempedak dan 2 aksesi nangka diamati menggunakan 83 ciri berdasarkan deskriptor nangka (Artocarpus heterophyllus). Analisis keserupaan dan pengelompokan berdasarkan data morfologi menggunakan koefisien SM dan metode UPGMA. Keanekaragaman cempedak di Riau ditemukan pada bentuk-bentuk (kanopi, helaian daun, pangkal & dan ujung helaian daun, perbungaan, buah, duri, bulbus, biji), tangkai perbungaan, permukaan buah, dan warna bulbus. Hasil dendrogram menunjukkan bahwa cempedak di Riau memiliki indeks kemiripan sebesar 44–81%. Dendrogram menunjukkan bahwa cempedak di Riau tidak mengelompok berdasarkan asal pulau.Kata kunci: Buah tropis, ciri morfologi, dendrogram, koefisien Simple Matching, Pulau Bengkalis, Pulau Padang.

Abstract

The leaf anatomy of Freycinetia (Pandanaceae) in the Malesian Region is reviewed. We made observations of epidermal tissue, hypodermic and leaf mesophyll for 18 Freycinetia spp. Much variation was seen in the epidermal tissue, e.g., in the existence of papillae, stomata arrangement, shape of epidermis cell and prismatic crystals. We found seven groups within the genus Freycinetia, based on these characters and compared these groups to Stone’s sections.

Ashari Bagus Setiawan & Nunik Sri Ariyanti. 2018. Anatomical Characters for Identifying the Eleocharis species (Cyperaceae) of Madura Island. Floribunda 5(8): 291–298. — Simple morphological vegetative structure of Eleocharis become an obstacle in identifying the species, especially when the specimen is sterile. Therefore, other valuable taxonomic evidences are needed in distinguishing the species. For this purpose, the Eleocharis species of Madura Island (E. atropurpurea, E. dulcis, E. geniculata, E. philippinensis, and E. spiralis)  were compared based on the paradermal and cross sections of its culms. The results showed that those five Eleocharis species of Madura could be distinguished based on these anatomical characters of culms: length-width ratio of the epidermal cells, length ratio of the stomata l subsidiary cells to the guard cell, stomata l density, shape of the culm cross section, shape of the chlorenchyma cells, distribution of the vascular bundles and air cavities, presence of stellate parenchyma in the air cavities, and presence of parenchyma cells at the central pith. An identification key for the Madurese Eleocharis was constructed based on the anatomical characters of culms.Keywords: Anatomy of culms, Eleocharis, epidermis characters, Cyperaceae. Floribunda 5(8): 291–298. — Ciri morfologi struktur vegetatif yang sederhana pada  Eleocharis menjadi salah satu kendala dalam mengidentifikasi jenis-jenisnya, terutama jika spesimen dalam keadaan steril. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan ciri selain morfologi yang memiliki nilai taksonomi untuk membedakan antar jenisnya. Untuk itu, jenis-jenis Eleocharis asal Pulau Madura (E. atropurpurea, E. dulcis, E. geniculata, E. philippinensis, dan E. spiralis) dibandingkan berdasarkan sayatan paradermal dan melintang buluhnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa lima jenis Eleocharis Madura dapat dibedakanberdasarkan ciri anatomi buluh berikut ini: rasio ukuran panjang terhadap lebar dari sel-sel epidermis, bentuk sel penjaga pada stomata, rasio ukuran panjang sel tetangga terhadap sel penjaga pada stomata, kerapatan stomata, bentuk sayatan melintang buluh, bentuk sel-sel klorenkim, sebaran berkas pembuluh dan ruang udara, keberadaan parenkim bintang dalam ruang udara, dan keberadaan sel parenkim pada pusat empulur. Kunci identifikasi Eleocharis di Madura disusun berdasarkan ciri anatomi buluh tersebut.Kata kunci: Anatomi buluh, Eleocharis, ciri epidermis, Cyperaceae.

Christyne SPLS Napitu, Tatik Chikmawati & Nina Ratna Djuita. 2016. Genetic Diversity of Wild Rambutans (Nephelium spp.) in Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Based on SSR and ISSR Markers. Floribunda 5(4): 115–125. — This study aimed to determine the genetic diversity of wild rambutans from Sanggau Regency (West Kalimantan) based on SSR and ISSR markers. Plant materials were collected from five subdistricts: Bonti, Jangkang, Parindu, Mukok and Kapuas, in Sanggau Regency. There were four species of wild rambutans with five vatieties, namely N. cuspidatum var. cuspidatum, N. cuspidatum var. eriopetalum, N. cuspidatum var. robustum, N. lappaceum var. lappaceum, N. lappaceum var. xanthioides, N. rubescens and N. uncinatum found in the research site. The highest genetic diversity from the samples based on SSR markers was found in Jangkang (He=0.27) and the highest genetic diversity based on ISSR was found in Bonti (He=0.18). Cluster analysis using Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) method and coefficient Simple Matching (SM) based on SSR and ISSR showed that there were high similarity among species of wild rambutans in Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan with similarity index ranged 0.5–1.0. Floribunda 5(4): 115–125. — Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keberagaman genetik rambutan liar yang berasal dari Kabupaten Sanggau (Kalimantan Barat) berdasarkan marka SSR dan ISSR. Pengambilan sampel diperoleh dari 5 Kecamatan: Bonti, Jangkang, Parindu, Mukok dan Kapuas, di Kabupaten Sanggau. Empat jenis rambutan liar beserta lima varietasnya yaitu N. cuspidatum var. cuspidatum, N. cuspidatum var. eriopetalum, N. cuspidatum var. robustum, N. lappaceum var. lappaceum, N. lappaceum var. xanthioides, N. rubescens dan N. uncinatum ditemukan di lokasi penelitian. Keberagaman genetik dengan nilai heterozigositas tertinggi berdasarkan marka SSR terdapat di Jangkang (He=0,27) dan berdasarkan marka ISSR terdapat di Bonti (He=0,18). Hasil analisis kelompok menggunakan metode Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA) dan koefisien indeks similaritas Simple Matching (SM) berdasarkan data SSR dan ISSR menunjukkan adanya tingkat kemiripan yang tinggi antara jenis rambutan liar di Kabupaten Sanggau, Kalimantan Barat dengan nilai koefisien kemiripan 0,5–1,0.Kata kunci: Keberagaman genetik, ISSR, Nephelium, SSR, rambutan liar.
