Abstract

Using of powerpoint in learning still displays a lot of text, so it minimize its legibility and students feel difficult to understand the concepts of Physics. Therefore it needs an effective media for students, that is comic. This research aims to determine the characteristics, appropriateness, responses of students, and the effectiveness of developed comic media. The method used to achieve the goal is research and development method. The developed comic media has four characteristics, those are having islamic nuance, giving dynamic fluid material connected to Quran verses, giving characters values based on Quran, and there are page, which, tell about the characteristics of Prophet Muhammad SAW, Aisha r.a., and Sultan Fatah. The Comic media was stated appropriate as media by material expert and media expert. Students' responses to the media are very good because the comic is easier and more interesting to be understood than the book used.

Abstract

Teacher centered learning method which teacher usually used for Science Learning made students bored and can not following learning process well so the learning outcomes decrease. To increase motivation and learning outcomes, teacher needs various learning models. One of the learning models that can be applied is Team Assisted Individualization with Vee Diagram. This study aims to determine the effect of Vee Diagram on the learning model of Team Assisted Individualization in improving student's motivation and learning outcomes. In this research the research design used was quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest with the sample chosen based on purposive sampling. Population of this study was students with eight grade of 8 Junior High School in Semarang. Sample of this study were A class as experiment class and B class as control class. Motivation and learning outcomes obtained from pretest and post test. Student learning outcomes have increased significantly marked by was . While learning motivation also made a significant increase marked with is . So it means motivation and learning outcomes of experiment class better than control class.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is development of evaluation instrument in solar system’s matter based on scientific literacy, aimed to find out the validity, reliability, and characteristics of evaluation instrument and also the profile of students’ scientific literacy skills. This research used Research and Development model and the sampling technique used here was Simple Random Sampling. The research was conducted in Semarang State Junior High School. The result showed that evaluation instrument was valid and reliable. The value of validation in material, construction, and language are 87.5%; 80%; dan 84% and the value of reliability is 0. 825 in the first try out and 0.803 is value in the last try out. The ratio of characteristics’ test based on four categories scientific literacy is (a) science as a body of knowledge, (b) science as a way of investigating, (c) science as a way of thinking, and (d) the interaction among science, technology, and society are 35%:20%:20%:25%. The skills profile of students’ scientific literacy in SMP N 41 Semarang are good enough in category science as a body of knowledge, but quite good in else categories.

Abstract

Teaching material is a learning resource that can help teachers to facilitate the delivery of learning materials. The teaching materials used in some schools emphasize material descriptions rather than applications in everyday life. In the Curriculum 2013 there is a KI-1 that contains religious values ​​such as Islamic values ​​for Islamic schools. These Islamic values ​​can be included in teaching materials. I-SETS-based physics teaching materials (Islamic, Science, Environment, Technology, Society) are teaching materials that apply the principles of science in the form of technology to know the impacts that are generated for the environment and society, and related to Islamic values. Character education proclaimed by the government can also be integrated in I-SETS-based physics teaching materials. The purpose of this research is to compose the physics-based I-SETS-based physics learning materials, know the level of eligibility and readability, and character development. The method used in this research is Research and Development. The result of the research shows that the I-SETS-based physics-based teaching materials are characterized using several characteristics, the result of the feasibility test of physics-based I-SETS material which viewed from the aspect of content, presentation, and language shows that the teaching material is very suitable to be used. The results of the legibility test show that the teaching materials are easy to understand. The development of religious character, discipline, and responsibility after using the teaching materials, increases with the medium gain criteria.

Abstract

PISA's results show that math and science education in Indonesian students is very low. One of the causes of the poor quality of education in Indonesia is the lack of understanding of concepts and misconceptions. This study aims to determine the various misconceptions of junior high school students in the solar system. The design of this study is survey research with sampling using simple random sampling obtained class VII B and VII C. Methods of data collection with PISA-assisted tests, questionnaires and interviews. The result of the research shows the misconception level on the concept of sea tidal rise of 34%, the concept of rotation of the Earth by 26%, the concept of the Earth revolution by 36%, the concept of the Sun as a star of 36%, the concept of the Sun which has 23% The moon is 43%, the concept of rotation and the revolution of the Moon is 36%, the concept of urban and rural observation of the stars by 33%, the concept of meteoroid, meteor and meteorite by 47%, the concept of Kepler's third law by 31% Planet type and its orbital velocity by 36%, the concept of the second law of Keppler by 41%, the concept of the gravitational force between the Sun and the planet by 39%, the concept of Newton's law of gravity of 27%

Abstract

Physical learning in schools is still teacher-centered without involving students’s role actively. Especially without supported by props of physics experiment in microscope’s optical instrument learning, make student uninterested and enthusiastic when following the lessons. The purpose of this work is to design props Digital Image Creator for Optical Microscope (Digicom) and to know its influence to student learning motivation. This work uses pre-experimental method with One-Shot Case Study design. The class is chosen purposively for a treatment. To find out the feasibility of design of props Digicom used feasibility test sheet by media expert, while data of student learning motivation got from questionnaire. Based on the results of this work, the percentage of feasibility test from media experts is 80% included in the criteria worthy. The average of questionnaire result of student learning motivation is 83,4% with very high criterion. Based on the results of research can be concluded that the design of props Digicom developed feasible use in learning and able to enhance student learning motivation.

Abstract

The development of science and technology encourages various reform efforts in the learning process. Meanwhile, teachers are required to be able to utilize information and communication technology for self-development. Android is one of the most popular operating systems today. The purpose of this research is to make android instructional media that has the appropriate characteristics so that it is suitable for high school students. The development of this medium follows the Borg and Gall groove that has been simplified by the Center for Policy Research and Innovation consisting of 4 stages of needs analysis, initial design, validation and revision, small-scale and revised trials. In the development study, the learning medium has been validated by an expert validator with 77.53% results or is eligible to use. Trial program conducted by students at 2nd Muhammadiyah Senior High School at Magelang city with a result of 68.82% or eligible to use. Research data collection method used is observations, questionnaires and documentation. Based on data analysis then in this study can be concluded android learning media on parabolic motion material can be used as alternative learning resources with offline characteristics, practice questions and android operating system specifications minimum 5.0.

Abstract

The reasoning skills and students’ physics concept as the main capital for understanding physics extensively. One of the factors that influence the low reasoning and understanding of concepts is the learning that is delivered in the classroom. This study aimed to find out increase the reasoning skills and students’ physics concept and difference of the SFAE assisted by simple aids and learning SFAE without the simple aids. This study employed true experimental design with pretest - posttest control group design. In the experimental group of improvement were included in the high category while in the control group of improvement included the moderate category. Based on the comparison of t test, there are significant differences of the SFAE assisted by simple aids and learning SFAE without the simple aids.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to find out does the testlet test can work as a essay test. This research is an explorative research done to investigate a relatively new phenomenon. In accordance with the research itself, research design used is the One Group Posttest Only Design. Sample is don randomly (Random Sampling). The research is done in SMA Negeri 1 Gombong with the subject of the study is the students of XI MIPA 4 and XI MIPA 6. Based on the research’s result with the t-test analysis, showed that t-value= 1.85 for the XI MIPA 4 students and t-value= 1.89 for the XI MIPA 6 students, with t-table= 1.99. Therefore, from both of the research sample classes, the t-value is lesser that the t-table, so the conclusion is that there is no difference in the students’ cognitive learning outcome evaluated using testlet test and essay test, so testlet test can work as essay test.

Abstract

This study aim to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model toward ability of problem solving and scientific communication of high school students on dinamic fluid materials, and to know the student’s response toward the implementation of guided inquiry learning model. The research design is use quasi experimental and the type is nonequivalent control group design. The data of this research are collected by test, observation, and questionnaire. The result showed that the implementation of guided inquiry learning model positively influence the problem solving and scientific communication ability of high school students. The influence of the implementation of guided inquiry learning model to the problem solving ability of students is 62,74%, while the influence of the implementation of guided inquiry learning model to the student’s scientific communication ability of 86,73%. The student’s response toward the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model is very good that is 81,15.
