Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the psychological dynamics of child labour in Batik sector in Pekalongan. This case study research applied interview, observation and documentation for collecting data. The findings of this research show that school breakout child labour generally motivated to work only to earn, whereas the school child labour, more motivated by pity feeling of their parents. The children labour affective condition has different ways in order to face the problems of school continuity. Some felt disappointed on failure to continue their school, some felt so-so, and some others felt happy because of school duties-free. Generally, child labour was excited when they help their parents or when they work in the owner of the interprise. They also felt proud because they could help out their parents’ burdens. The school breakout child labour tend to have no any desires for coming back to their school because of feeling happy in working. It differs with the school children, which still have an expectation to continue to the higher education and have aspiration.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) examine the degree of use between Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) method and non financial measures in capital budgeting (2) examine managers’ satisfaction on both methods when there is a contingency fit between those methods with two contingency variables: product standardization and firm strategy. This research used purposive sampling method to collect data. The research population was manufacturing firms listed in BEI and major non listed firms located in Jawa Tengah and got 35 responses. Multiple regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) were used to test the hypothesis. Research results indicate that (1) DCF method is not more important than non financial measures. Managers tend to use both methods simultaneously (2) firm strategy affects to DCF method and non financial measures significantly which it means that firms with prospector strategy tend to place more emphasis on non financial measures while firms with defender strategy tend to place more emphasis on DCF method. (3) product standardization has no effect on both methods (4) firm strategy has a moderating effect on the relation between two capital budgeting methods and manager’s satisfaction on budgeting process while product standardization has no effect.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) form critical and creative learning models in Sociology of Education learning relevant for students, (2) examine student response to a critical-creative learning in Sociology of Education learning courses, and (3) examine the influence of the creative-critical learning model for improving the quality of learning outcomes in students majoring in Sociology of Education on Tarbiyah Departement at STAIN Purwokerto.This research is a classroom action research. The process of action research carried out using two cycles (cyclic), taking into account the following four main components, namely: planning, implementation, monitoring, and reflection. The first cycle consists of two stages with three acts. The second cycle consists of one stage and one effectiveness measurement to the implementation of creative-critical learning model. The fact analysis was performed along with a qualitative description of the reflection and evaluation of the model. Meanwhile, non-parametric statistical analysis and simple statistics were used to examine the impact of creative-critical learning model for improving the quality of learning.The results provide some conclusions as follows: (1) creative-critical learning model that is suitable for students include procedures and measures as follows, which includes: planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of learning, reflection, and assessing of the successful action. This model uses a minimum of two cycles, where the First Cycle consists of 3 actions, and the Second Cycle consists of one stage and one action that is implementing a critical-creative learning models that are effective, (2) The response of students to learning critical creative tend to be more positive than using conventional learning , and (3) students' learning achievement using a learning model of creative-critical indicate a better condition compared with conventional learning. Based on these results IPS-learning facilities are suggested, especially laboratories need to be developed and equipped to facilitate the learning process of applying the various models and strategies in accordance with the characteristics of certain subject areas including sosial studies courses Sociology of Education.

Abstract

This paper studied the urgency of Islamic Law reconception, especially focused on productive wakaf (sustainable Islamic donation) management. As one of Islamic teaching, wakaf has two dimensions, individual and social. If it was worked and managed productively, wakaf would become one of economic power toward Muslims. Abstract

This study aims to describe users’ perception on the competencies of STAIN Pekalongan Tarbiyah Programs’ alumni, namely those who devote themselves into the world of education. Teachers and lecturers should be able to fulfill the four competencies, namely (1) pedagogical competence, (2) competence of personality, (3) social competence, and (4) professional competence. These competencies are comprehensive and constitute an integral and interconnected with each other and support each other. Descriptive statistics was employed to analize the data. Research results indicate that (1) users’ perception on alumni’s pedagogical competence are above average which 77% schools on Kemdiknas’ oversight rate them as good, as well as 73% schools on Depag’s oversight (2) users’ perception on alumni’s personal competency/personality are above average which 81% schools on Kemdiknas’ oversight rate them as good, as well as 78% schools on Depag’s oversight (3) users’ perception on alumni’s social competency are above average which 75% schools on Kemdiknas’ oversight rate them as good, as well as 74% schools on Depag’s oversight; and (4) users’ perception on alumni’s professional competency are above average which 76% schools on Kemdiknas’ oversight rate them as good, as well as 73% schools on Depag’s oversight. Thus, it can be concluded that both users rate them as good and competence

Abstract

This study examined the thought of Seyyed Hossein Nasr on modernity. Nasr confronted Western Metaphysics’ view on one side and Islamic Metaphysics’ view on the other. Nasr took more emphasis on Sufism, though Nasr himself seemed not yet to the level of a mystic Sufi figures as known in the Islamic world. However, Nasr indeed had his own originality-in certain limits-that he concocted Sufism he mastered with his experience and his study results in the West to find alternative answers to the problems of modern man.
