Abstract

To be able to play the soccer game well and achieve victory, a number of fundamental aspects should be mastered by every player, especially basic technical skills. Mastery of soccer basic technical skills is fundamental in the process of player development. The purpose of this study is to find out whether the soccer basic technical skills training model through the GAG approach is effective to improve the basic technical skills of soccer dribbling. The research method used is quantitative research with Quasi-Experiment. The design used is the pre test post test Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The subjects in this study were SSB students aged 6-9 years old. The results of this study are based on data analysis through an independent sample test, in which it was found that the sig (2-tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05. It can be concluded that there is a significant (real) effectiveness difference between the use of the training model through the GAG approach and the conventional learning model to improve the soccer dribbling technique skills of SSB students aged 6-9 years old

Abstract

Hypertension is mostly associated with adulthood and old age with little attention on children. This study provided evidence of hypertension in healthy children and its association with body composition and aerobic capacity (VO2max). 266 healthy children aged 8-11 years were recruited for the study. Blood pressure, heart rate, body mass index (BMI), basal metabolic rate (BMR), fat free mass, bone mass, visceral fat, total body water (TBW), and VO2max were measured. 18.79% were pre-hypertensive and 9.40% overweight at least, while 65.42% underweight. Correlation between blood pressure and maxVO2 was significant (P < 0.05). VO2max significantly correlate with body mass index (r = -.415, P < 0.05), fat mass (r = -.385, P < 0.05) negatively and visceral fat (r = -.267, P < 0.05) and positive with fat free mass (r =.385, P < 0.05) and bone mass (r =.077, P < 0.05). Gender differences were significant in BMR, TBW, VO2max and heart rate (P < 0.05). Evidence of hypertension in relatively healthy children is a clarion call to avert unprecedented decline in future life expectancy rate. Physical activity interventions are suggested antidotes to avert the risk factors of hypertension and excess body fat in children

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine whether mental toughness can predict competitive anxiety through the motivation and competitive experience possessed by athletes. Respondents involved were 175 athletes who were students (93 female and 82 male). Path analysis reports that there are direct and indirect effects of the measured variable. Our results show the influence of mental toughness on competitive anxiety. However, the influence of exerted is a positive effect that if athletes have good mental toughness, then their competitive anxiety increases as well. Researchers suspect that there are other constructs that accompany mental toughness in influencing competitive anxiety in athletes. The mediation model also shows that athletes who have high motivation and competitive experience significantly mediate the influence between mental toughness and athlete’s competitive anxiety. Concluded that mental toughness, motivation, competitive experience, have a reciprocal relationship from competitive anxiety. In addition, the results of this study also reported that mental toughness, motivation, and competitive experience are able to predict competitive anxiety.

Abstract

Physical exercise changes the antibody endurance of each person. This study aims to determine in depth changes in the number of leukocytes, neutrophils, and lymphocytes using physical exercise after being given glutathione. The method used experimentally using a posttest randomized control group design. The study was conducted in three groups where each group consisting of men and women who are in the age range of 20-30 years. Each group consisted of 10 people (n), K1 was given a placebo, K2 was given glutathione 54 mg / kg BW, K3 given 108 mg / kg BW. All treatments are given intraperitoneally twice a day until the third day. Maximum physical exercise is swimming. On the third day after 3 hours of treatment (placebo or glutathione), then participants take a leukocyte profile measurement. The findings show that the number of leukocytes: K2> K1; P = 0.005; K2 - K3; P = 0.168; - K3; P 0.105, neutrophils: Kl, K2 and K3 are not different, even though K2 is highest, lymphocyte: K2> K1; P = 0.003, K1 - K3 and K2 - K3 is not different even though K2 is highest. The conclusion of this study is the number of leukocytes and lymphocytes treated with glutathione 54 mg / kg BW (K2) is significantly higher than K1 after strenuous physical exercise. Thus, the content of glutathione must be balanced with the body’s needs so that the body is healthy and is able to do the heavy activities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effectiveness of the use of learning methods, namely role playing and demonstration in improving tennis smash technique. This type of research itself is comparative, with matched subject design, involving 24 samples. The instrument used was a back-board test, analyzed using tests: normal, homogeneity, and hypothesis with a significance level of 0.005. The results obtained from this study include: (1) There is no significant effect between role playing on the smash technique; (2) There is an influence between demonstration on the smash technique; and (3) demonstration method is better than role playing on the tennis smash technique. This research provides benefits for the development of tennis in Papua, coaches and tennis athletes need new methods of training. Should an amateur student or athlete who is just learning tennis try the results of this research method and not be discouraged quickly in training.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of circuit training method on the leg muscle explosive ability. In this circuit training 4 posts containing exercises for strength and speed were designed. The research method used was experimental research. There were 24 research subjects divided into 2 groups, 12 in the treatment group and 12 in the control group using random sampling method. To obtain the data, pre test and post test were conducted in the treatment group and the control group using vertical jump test instrument. To ensure that this data were normally distributed, a normality test was carried out using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. The results of this study showed a significant increase in the treatment group by 6.49. Post test data that has been tested through the t test (independent samples test) showed a P value < of a, that is 0.008 < 0.05 which means that the post test results had a significant increase compared to the control group. This circuit training method that contains strength and speed training can improve leg muscle explosive power.

Abstract

This study aims to see the differences in the effect of reciprocal and inclusion teaching styles on learning outcomes of basic service techniques. The type of this research is a quasi-experimental. The sample in this study were students of the Department of Sports Education, Faculty of Sports Science, Padang State University (UNP) 2018, as many as 44 people. The data were collected by conducting a placement test. Data analysis and hypothesis testing used comparative analysis techniques using the mean difference test formula (t test) with a significant level a = 0.05. From the data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a difference in the effect of reciprocal and inclusion teaching style on the learning outcomes of student basic service techniques, with the result of the “t” test coefficient, namely tcount (3.38) which is greater than ttable (1.680).
