Abstract

Abstract: This article is intended to describe the tradition of reciting Al-Qur'an through whatsapp. The writer discussed how the Muslim responds to social media especially whatsapp, then, how the acceptance of the Qur'an is highlighted. Whatsaap changed the concept of reciting al-Qur'an from offline to online. The writer assumes that the existence of these activities can encourage anyone to recite Al Qur’an and strengthen togetherness. It implies that Qur'an has a function as an informative as well as a performative aspect. The significance of social media through Whatsaap in reciting Al-Qur'an tradition, model, results from that tradition is to get a reward from Allah. This study employed phenomenological approach. The findings showed that reciting Al-Qur'an through whatsapp motivated people to read the Qur'an and foster togetherness. Further, the presence of contestations from several families is arisen in this new tradition.الملخص: يحاول هذا المقال وصف عادة ختم القرآن بوسائل الاتصال الاجتماعي (whatsapp). أولاً، سيشرح الباحث كيفية استجابة العالم الإسلامي لوسائل الاتصال الاجتماعي (whatsapp). التالي سوف يشرح كيفية استقبال القرآن. غيّر Whatsaap ختم القرآن من دون اتصال بالإنترنت إلى عبر الإنترنت. يفترض الباحث أن هذه الأنشطة تشجع شخصًا على قراءة القرآن وتقوية صلة الرحم بوجود الاجتماع كل ثلاثة أشهر. هذا يعني أن القرآن ليس له جانب إعلامي فحسب، بل له جانب أداء. ما هي أهمية وسائل الاتصال الاجتماعي (whatsaap) من عادة ختم القرآن؟ كيف نموذج عادة ختم القرآن عبر Whatsaap؟ وما انتاج ختم القرآن بجانب الحصول على الثواب من الله؟ في هذه الدراسة، استخدم الباحث المنهج الظواهري. وجد الباحث أن شخصًا يديم قراءة القرآن ويتولد منه صلة الرحم. هناك مسابقات من عدة عائلات لأن ليس كل العائلات تشارك في هذه العادة الجديدة.Abstrak: Artikel ini ingin berusaha mendeskripsikan bagaimana tradisi khataman al-Qur’an dengan media sosial yaitu whatsapp. Untuk itu, pertama, penulis akan menjelaskan bagaimana dunia muslim merespon media sosial (whatsapp). Selanjutnya akan menjelaskan bagaimana resepsi (penerimaan) terhadap al-Qur’an. Whatsaap merubah khataman al-Qur’an dari offline ke online.  Penulis berasumsi dengan adanya kegiatan tersebut bisa mendorong seseorang untuk selalu membaca al-Qur’an dan bisa mempererat sillaturahmi dengan fakta lapangan adanya pertemuan setiap 3 bulan sekali. Di sini berarti al-Qur’an itu tidak hanya punya sisi informatif tapi juga sisi performatif. Apa signifikansi media sosial (whatsaap) dari tradisi khataman al-Qur’an. Bagaimana model tradisi khataman al-Qur’an via whatsapp. Apa  yang dihasilkan dari tradisi tersebut selain mendapat pahala dari Allah. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan pendekatan fenomenologi. Penulis menemukan seseorang terdorong untuk selalu membaca al-Qur’an dan terciptanya silaturahmi. Ada kontestasi dari beberapa keluarga karena tak semua keluarga berpartisipasi dalam tradisi yang baru ini.

Abstract

Abstract: The term of tarekat in Islamic study is widely known in various circles. Especially in recent years, many congregations have sprung up one after the other meets Islamic studies. One of the most famous institutes is Qa>diriyah wa Naqshabandiyah. This tarekat has spread too many regions both within the general public and at Islamic boarding school. Islamic boarding school which is the framework of Islamic education system, in which there are classic teaching models belonging salafi, by learning Islamic classical words and deepening of Sufism, as well as boarding school founded by Sheikh Imam Muhadi named "Manbaul 'Adhim". This boarding school has a tradition like salafiyah such other boarding schools. However, with the emergence of Qa>diriyah wa Naqshabandiyah, then these schools identify themselves with tarekat that they followed. Thus, Qa>diriyah wa Naqshabandiyah often replace Islamic Boarding School Manbaul 'Adhim. The spirit of this congregation becomes a motivator in spreading his teachings around them. This article was written in order to know about the nature of the growing congregation in Islamic society, namely Qa>dariyah wa Naqshabandiyah and influence especially among schools. Keywords: Tarekat Qadiriyah Naqshabandiyah, Bai’atan, dan Pesantren Manbaul ‘Adhim

Abstract

Abstract: Qur'an has a multi-dimensional, ranging from rational empirical dimension to mystical dimension of spiritual-emotional. One empirical dimension of Qur'an is a form of text that can be seen, read, studied and understood. While mystical and spiritual emotional dimensions are irrational. Empirical studies of Qur’an are often faced with its historical problem self. Because that rational is irrelevance with historical facts.   To rationalize the discrepancy between empirical and historical facts, al-muna>sabah are conducted. Furthermore, Qur'an also has a historical fact, such historically strategic position in declining Qur’an continuously. In fact, history facts of Qur’an are more strength than empirical ones (manuscripts orderly). According to the fact above, this study focuses on the application of muna>sabah towards tartîb al-mus}h}af and tartîb al-nuzu>l  in interpreting surah and those results. This study conducted inductive-deductive approach and method.It can be summed up that 1). Interpreting surah in tafsir mushaî  by using muna>sabah can be done detail and musfassir concerns on munasabah of the whole elements in Qur’an. While, in tafsir nuzu>li>, muna>sabah  could be done though recording the continuum of surah.  the aim is to show the whole content of Qur’an in order not to be understood partially. Munāsabah in tafsir mushafî is structural-emotional, while munāsabah in tafsir nuzûlî has ratinal-cultural pattern 2). Interpreting surah by using munāsabah approach in tafsir mushafî produces rational relation among the elements in Qur’an. While in the tafsir nuzûlî, it emphases on the strengthen of history and the records.Even they differ; both perform similar steps such other commentators done. They do not lead unclear and unequivocal interpretation suspicious to the conclusion that a clear and interpretation, except only reinforces the dominant idea in the previous theories Keywords: munāsabah, tafsi>r mus}h}afī, tafsi>r nuzu>li

Abstract

Abstract: Science is abstract. It means that knowledge or science is objective, structured, arranged and organized. Therefore, knowledge could not be separated because it represents factual of the truth conditions. In addition, science contains of continuity ultimate truth. Related to the religious doctrine, religious-based science is robust, whereas religion without science becomes brittle. Science and religion are interrelated and could not be separated. The perspective that said religion is higher than science is the influence of dichotomy concept of science and religion. Science is considered as human creations that have a relative truth so that it has lower position than religion.

Abstract

The Indonesian Anti-Hadith Group (AHG) thought has never been extinguished. No matter how big the public’s rejection of their ideas, that’s how significant their resistance is. This article aims to reveal the Anti Hadith discourse, especially in post-secularism, which is considered momentum for religious openness. Through the virtual ethnography method, this article argues that in the post-secular era, the activities of AHG followers are increasingly dynamic. They build the network, revive and publish the founders’ thoughts, and appeal to followers through digital platforms. Post-secularism, which is marked by the decline of the privatization of religion in the public sphere, opens up opportunities for Islamic discourses, including the Anti-hadith discourse. The implication, on the one hand, is that religion is no longer a matter of privacy that is separated from the public sphere. On the other hand, the current Anti-Hadith thought potentially challenges the sources of Islamic law. This fact becomes a paradox that post-secularism is usually characterized by religious desire. Still, on the contrary, the presence of AHG stimulated controversies in the mid of Indonesian Muslim communities.

Abstract

The understanding of the Shia groups majority is considered too literal as the ideology that the caliph after the Prophet Muhammad is ‘Ali ibn Abi Talib, which has an indirect impact on the rejection of his controversial exegesis, including al-Mi>za>n fi> Tafsi>r al-Qur’a>n written by Thabathabai. Thabathabai's credibility in al-Mizan is still often doubted for its validity to be used as a reference for the Qur'an reviewers because it includes a lot of Shia ideology, eventhough Quraish Shihab used it as a reference in his exegesis. This study aims to analyze the contextual form of Thabathabai’s exegesis in al-Mi>za>n fi> Tafsi>r al-Qur’a>n. This research is qualitative research with a normative-linguistic approach. The data used is the book of al-Mi>za>n fi> Tafsi>r al-Qur’a>n in the letter al-An'am verse 82, which discusses related to understanding the word za>lim which is interpreted as syirk, and is supported by scientific articles and books. Collecting data using documentation techniques, then the data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis. This study proves that the contextualization efforts carried out by Thabathabai used linguistic analysis and also a comparative study between the Companions and Ulama after the Companions period, so the assumption that the Shia group is considered a literal and textual group needs to be re-examined.

Abstract

This research described the dynamics of leadership expressed by the three characters of Tuan Guru in Lombok. They are the Tuan Guru at Nahdlatul Wathan (NW), the Tuan Guru at Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and the Tuan Guru, who is not tied to any organization in responding to health protocols in places of worship. To explore in more detail the leadership dynamics of the three Tuan Guru characters, this research focused on several questions. First, how Tuan Guru expresses his type of leadership in responding to the spread of COVID-19 in places of worship. Second, how is the relationship of power and charisma that Tuan Guru has built in responding to health protocols in places of worship. These questions were analyzed with a sociological approach based on the theory of power relations and charisma. As for the technique of obtaining the data, this research used an empirical study by observing and meeting several key informants and important informants to be interviewed. From this research, the researcher found that each Tuan Guru used a different way of responding to health protocols. There was a passive type of leader like what Tuan Guru NW does, there was a type of proactive leader like that of Tuan Guru NU, and a reactive-rejective type of leader like what Tuan Guru does and was not tied to any organization. In this connection, what each Tuan Guru did, created a mutual response from his congregation so that his congregation did as Tuan Guru, who is his role model.

Abstract

This article aimed to analyze the relationship between religion and hoax related to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly the role of interfaith youth in countering negative narratives developed in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra. In the context of a religious community like Bukittinggi, religion is one of the constructive instruments that must be considered. This research used the action research method. This research began with mapping the condition of hoaxes related to COVID-19 in Bukittingi through three Focus Group Discussions (FGD). Researcher was also involved with partners in intervening through local training activities to strengthen the capacity of interfaith youth to respond to hoaxes. This research showed that apart from religious leaders, interfaith youths play an essential role in breaking the chain of hoaxes related to COVID-19 through counter-narratives. In addition, this research showed a trend of positive change in interfaith youth, from being only passive objects of COVID-19 hoaxes to being active agents who carry out hoax counter-narratives through various media. As the dominant population in Indonesia that is so massive in the use of the internet and social media, young people have great potential to become 'victims' of hoax narratives. However, with the increasing number of digital literacies received by young people, they also have great potential to become agents who can break the chain of hoaxes.
