Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of university students in fighting for their aspiration to uphold Islam in the public sphere. For their presence, mosque and campuses become their ideological base camp and Islamic thought. Islam and young people have become a special identity that negotiates with modernity. This study aims to provide a critical view on the prolongation of youth in understanding the reality of Islam in the public sphere, affected by the social and political situation in Indonesia during the New Order and post-reform era. In addition, it would provide a perspective on the identity of young people who take Islamic symbols in promoting for their ideation into the public sphere Yogyakarta City is selected as fieldwork location because the progressiveness of youth and Islam is increasing, and as the city of education centre Yogyakarta plays a role in transforming the Islamic culture of a new model for young people.

Abstract

Abstract: Science is abstract. It means that knowledge or science is objective, structured, arranged and organized. Therefore, knowledge could not be separated because it represents factual of the truth conditions. In addition, science contains of continuity ultimate truth. Related to the religious doctrine, religious-based science is robust, whereas religion without science becomes brittle. Science and religion are interrelated and could not be separated. The perspective that said religion is higher than science is the influence of dichotomy concept of science and religion. Science is considered as human creations that have a relative truth so that it has lower position than religion.

Abstract

Economicharity is a discourse that is always being talked about, on the different side its existence has become a trend in the 21st era. Implementatively, economicharity is realized by philanthropic actions carried out by all levels of society and this has become a global phenomenon that is spreading throughout the world. With the rapid development of information technology, philanthropy can now be done using internet media. In the meantime, the virtual era is marked by an increase in speed and acceleration in the process of information and communication that allows people to connect with each other into the network. Fundraising becomes an activity that promotes the spirit of togetherness, mutual respect for each other. This research seeks to elaborate and explore philanthropic actions carried out by sedekahrombongan.com, kitabisa.com, dompetdhuafa.com. This research is a qualitative study conducted with a virtual ethnographic. It is hoped that this research will uncover the tendency of a philanthropic institution to use internet media as a breakthrough model in promoting economicharity globally. On the different side, the development of philanthropic institutions in Indonesia gave rise to a different orientation among them, the awareness of popularizing humanitarian attitudes had made these institutions synergized with similar institutions owned by the government. In addition, this research will deeply observe netizens in interacting with these institutions.

Abstract

The growth of Islamic school education in Indonesia has been phenomenally rapid, affecting a new emergence of Islamic school in the country. In few years ago we only recognised two models of Islamic education: pesantren (boarding school) and madrasah (conventional Islamic school). The current wave of Islamic schools in Indonesia attempts to integrate secular education and religious curriculum in one curriculum. Interestingly, the teachings in these schools reinvigorate modern Muslim parents to get their children enrolled in those institutions. Nowadays urban society demands educational institution that effectively equips the students with ability in handling the challenges of rapid globalisation. Furthermore, Muslim parents enthusiastically welcome to this new trend of Islamic school in Indonesia.  Uncontrolled social interaction, moral and ethical decadence have risen concerns amongst parents about their children future. Hence, this challenge prompts them to think of solution for their children in near future. The establishment of educational institution which is being able to respond to such global problems is necessary. With a blend of modern and religious curricula, Islamic school is aspired to provide skills to children so that they are capable of facing the consequences of globalisation. This system is also expected to generate a solid religious morality as a platform for moral development for children to prevent them from getting drifted into negative consequences of globalisation. Accordingly, modern Islamic school is developed in response to these issues. This paper is in attempt to examine the presence of Islamic schools in Yogyakarta. Characteristics of each school will be scrutinized. The paper will focus on the discussion of their characteristics, aiming for responding to social concerns and parent expectation for their children to be able to survive amidst the turmoil of modernity as well as for the school in being able to bridge the Islamic way of life with global problems.

Abstract

Jaringan komputer telah berkembang begitu pesatnya, tanpa disadari jaringan komputer telah berevolusi sedemikian rupa. Pada awal pengembangannya teknologi tersebut digunakan hanya untuk kepentingan internal departemen pertahanan Amerika Serikat. Namun seiring dengan perkembangan jaman teknologi tersebut telah menyebar di berbagai belahan dunia yang bertujuan untuk mempermudah transformasi data dan informasi supaya dinikmati dengan cepat. Alhasil muncul lah teknologi masterpiece dambaan semua golongan, yaitu internet. Nama yang tidak asing lagi di telinga kebanyakan orang. Dengan internet, apapun bisa dilakukan. Sebuah teknologi yang memberikan keleluasan bagi para penggunanya, tanpa batas teritorial, dimana pun, kapan pun bisa mengakses teknologi tersebut. Kenyataanya, teknologi tersebut bisa dimanfaatkan untuk apa saja. Ada dampak positif dan negatif yang ditimbulkan dari teknologi internet. Salah satunya adalah pemanfaatan internet dalam rangka penyelenggaraan PEMILU di Indonesia. Hal tersebut bisa dilihat dari PEMILU 2009 ini, dimana penggunaan internet bisa dimanfaatkan untuk berkampanye secara online. Caleg yang mengerti IT bisa memanfaatkan internet untuk menyapa konstituen mereka serasa di dunia nyata. Barangkali itulah salah satu contoh dimana internet bisa digunakan untuk melakukan kampanye dalam proses PEMILU yang berlangsung. Barangkali itulah adanya proses pengaruh internet terhadap masyarakat yang semakin lama mulai merasakan kelebihan salah satu masterpiece teknologi informasi tersebut.

Abstract

Abstrak: Teknologi  informasi  dan  komunikasi  yang  berkembang  saat  ini, telah  menciptakan  perubahan  pada  banyak  hal.  Terlebih  dengan kehadiran  internet,  berbagai  keunggulannya  semakin  menambah keunggulan  dalam  dinamika  kehidupan  modern.  Ratusan juta manusia di seluruh dunia mengakses internet setiap harinya, dan jumlahnya terus bertambah dari waktu ke waktu. Hal ini berdampak pada penggunaan internet untuk kegiatan dakwah.Secara umum dakwah dilaksanakan secara konvensional. Namun, seiring perkembangan teknologi informasi, bermunculan dakwah yang menggunakan internet, yang biasa disebut dengan cyber dakwah. Terkait dengan hal tersebut, penelitian ini berupaya untuk melihat keterkaitan keduanya dalam konstruksi keberagamaan, yang karenanya media internet memberikan kemudahan dalam penyebaran informasi kepada masyarakat. Adapun jenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif, dengan menggunakan metode field work yang dipadukan dengan studi kepustakaan.Diharapkan penelitian ini akan membuka ruang diskusi baru mengenai studi keislaman kontemporer yang lebih integratif dengan isu-isu kekinian. Selain itu, untuk memperkaya cakrawala terhadap diskursus perkembangan media yang menjadi bagian dari wacana keislaman global dan masyarakat modern. Abtsract: Information and communication technology that has developed at this time has created changes in many things. Especially with the presence of the internet, various advantages have added to the dynamics of modern life. Hundreds of millions of people around the world access the internet every day, and the number continues to increase from time to time. This has an impact on the use of the internet for da'wah activities.In general, preaching is carried out conventionally. However, along with the development of information technology, da'wah has sprung up using the internet, commonly referred to as cyber da'wah. Related to this, this study seeks to see the relationship between the two in religious construction, which is why internet media makes it easy to disseminate information to the public. The type of this study is qualitative, using the field work method combined with library studies.It is hoped that this research will open up new discussion space regarding contemporary Islamic studies that are more integrative with current issues. In addition, to enrich the horizon of the discourse of media development which is part of a global Islamic discourse and modern society.

Abstract

Manusia dengan potensi yang dimiliki sanggup merealisasikan apa yang mereka inginkan. Proses pengembangan kapasitas manusia melalui pendidikan tidak akan menjamin pembentukan karakter dan bakat untuk menjadi orang baik sesuai dengan kehendak Penciptanya. Oleh karena itu pendidikan Islam senantiasa mewarnai segala potensi yang dimiliki manusia berkaitan dengan fitrah yang sudah diciptakan Allah SWT, tentunya hal itu untuk memahami identitas manusia. Sehingga pendidikan harus menempati posisi sentral, karena manusia dipandang sebagai subjek, ia juga sebagai objek pendidikan itu sendiri. Dalam kajian ini penulis melihat keterkaitan antara 'fitrah'dengan pendidikan Islam, bahwa Islam memberikan suatu gambaran yang jelas manusia memiliki potensipotensi yang harus diarahkan, maka jika potensi-potensi yang sudah ada tadi tidak diarahkan maka manusia akan kehilangan 'nilai' sebagai manusia. Kajian ini lebih kepada narasi-deskriptif yang dapat dijadikan sebagai referensi dalam memahami aspek fitrah yang berkaitan dengan pendidikan Islam.

Abstract

Child is a gift from Allah SWT that we must guard. Giving an Islamic education since childhood in the family environment is a mandatory task for both parent. Building an  Islamic educational values can be done by telling the story through a letter of the Quran, one of which is the Luqman letter. Islamic education values contained in the Luqman letter are considered capable in forming an Islamic character, especially for children. Telling the story of  a letter of Luqman is one choice to guard children as early as possible, from negative environmental influences in this globalization era filled with sophistication and easiness in accessing all forms of information. The concept of Islamic education for children in the family was done by involving aspects of worship, Muslim beliefs and morals as well as children intellectual. Guiding an Islamic Education is the essential foundation for his own survival in the future. It was hoped to increase the sense of belief in Allah SWT.

Abstract

Kebijakan pendidikan yang dibuat pemerintah Orde Baru terkesan menanaktirikan dan hampir saja mengisolasi kepentingan pendidikan Islam. Sejalan dengan itu umat Islam dirasa memiliki kepentingan dalam berbagai aspek, salah satunya adalah pendidikan. Secara global, era awal Orde Baru hanya melanjutkan dan memperkuat kebijakan Orde Lama. Dalam pada itu, Orde Baru melihat pendidikan Islam sebagai sesuatu yang terpisah dari sistem pendidikan nasional sehingga cenderung tidak memberikan ruang gerak yang luas dan menjadi alat kepentingan penguasa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif yang difokuskan pada analisa kebijakan, dengan objek kajian pada kebijakan pendidikan Islam era Orde Baru dan Reformasi, dengan pendekatan kajian kepustakaan. Sedangkan teknik analisa menggunakan metode konten analisis, sehingga saya mengupayakan seleksi sumber kepustakaan yang berisi teks dan tulisan yang dijadikan sumber dalam rangka menarik kesimpulan mengenai kebijakan pendidikan Islam Orde Baru. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menemukan bagaimana kebijakan dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi dalam menentukan kebijakan pendidikan Islam era Orde Baru. Hasil penelitian ini mengindikasikan bahwa kebijakan-kebijakan pendidikan Islam Orde Baru dipengaruhi oleh kepentingan politik, di samping itu juga adanya pengaruh dari modernisasi pendidikan Islam dan kecenderungan dikotomik pendidikan Islam itu sendiri. Oleh karena itu, dalam konteks apapun, penguasa memiliki kekuatan dan pengaruh luar biasa dalam menentukan segalam macam kebijakan, termasuk pendidikan Islam. Penguasa dapat membuat kebijakan model apapun tanpa harus berdiskusi dengan pihak lain dan bila hal itu benar menurut pandangannya sendiri, maka kebijakan yang telah dibuat dapat diputuskan dengan cepat. Abstract

Education is a right for everyone, which can enhance human dignity, therefore Islam advocate it. Accordingly, the actions and activities should be oriented towards the goals set. Thus the true education should be oriented towards the objectives to be achieved, one of which is the education of Islam in public colleges. Islamic education is one of the compulsory subjects and the basis for the development of personality of students. The most important personality of a student is when he was in the act and behaves always underlies the elements of the knowledge of faith, piety and noble character who has known the basis for all kinds of knowledge, skill or expertise. Related to this there are activities organized by the students, known as Propagation Institute Campus, as a vehicle that becomes a resource for students to implement his knowledge of Islam, the institution of propaganda campus can be a vehicle collaborator for Islamic religious education formally in the classroom, which is expected to providing awareness internalization of religious values to students simultaneously. This study uses a critical review of the campus propaganda agencies in order to internalize the values of religion, while the analysis is descriptive-narrative. Therefore, this study is literacy derived from primary documents and secondary, so it is qualitative. Thus this study can serve as a reference for academics / practitioners in order to see the extent to which Islamic religious education can provide internalization of religious values to students.
