Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to explain the following. First, the relationship with the reading skills of news writing students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, the relationship between motivation to learn the skills of news writing students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Third, the relationship of reading interest and motivation to learn the skills of news writing students classVIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. The population was classVIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Sampling are 40 student performed using proportional random sampling technique. Data collected through questionnaires and performance tests. Questionnaire used to see interest in reading and students' motivation, while performance tests conducted to determine the outcome of news writing skills of students. Analysis and discussion of the data is done in accordance with the concept of descriptive correlational study. Based on the research conducted can be summarized as the following three things. First, there is a significant correlation between interest in reading the news writing skills students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, there is a significant relationship between motivation to learn the skills of news writing students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Third, there is a significant relationship between interest in reading and learning motivation together with news writing skills students class VIII SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Abstract

Abstrack: This study aimed to clarify the effect of the model cooperatif learning strategies Think-Talk-Write and high motivation and low motivation to learn the study to write a drama students class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Batang Anai. The population was class VIII SMP Negeri 3 Batang Anai. Sampling totaled 63 students conducted by purposive sampling. Data collected through questionnaires and tests. Questionnaire used to see students' motivation and performance tests conducted to determine the result of study to write a drama of students. Analysis and discussion of the data is done in accordance with the descriptive-analytical study concept experiments. Based on the results of the data analysis we can conclude the following four things. First, the result of study to write a drama that taught using model cooperative learning strategies Think-Talk-Write better than students taught by conventional methods. Second, there is no interaction between learning motivation and learning methods in affecting student’ result of study to write drama. Third, the result of study to write a drama of students who have high motivation are taught using model cooperative learning strategies Think-Talk-Write better than that taught by convensional methods. Fourth, the result of study to write a drama of students who have low motivation are taught using model cooperative learning strategies Think-Talk-Write better than that taught by convensional method. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe the types, strategies and situation context of expressive speech act used by Mario Teguh in Golden Ways program. This research uses a qualitative descrtive method. Data collection was done downloading Mario Teguh video recording of Mario Teguh’s speech act in Golden Ways program on Metro TV through site www.metrotvnew.com. Based on the research findings, we can conclude the following three things. First, the types of expressive speech act used by Mario Teguh in Golden Ways program, showing gratitude, congratulating, complimenting, criticizing, apologizing. The finding showed that complimenting is the most dominant expressive speech act used by Mario Teguh. As a motivator, he should try to cheer the audiences up so that his intention can be accepted by them. Moreover, it will increase the rating of this program. Second, speech strategies used by Mario Teguh in Golden Ways program, speaking in what it is without a word, speaking with a word of positive politeness, speaking with a word of negative politeness, off record speech.  Based on findings, the most dominant strategy used is speaking with a word of positive politeness since Mario Teguh tried to cheer the audiences up by exalting audiences of actual fact so that either opinion or critics conveyed can be accepted by them. Third, speech situation context found in Mario Teguh Golden Ways program. The context of using speech strategy in what it is without a word tended to be used on situation the situation of younger audiences, sensitive subject (-K +Sst), speech strategy with a word of positive politeness is used on situation the situation of younger audiences, sensitive subject (-K+Sst), speech strategy with a word of negative politeness is used on situation the situation of younger audiences, insensitive subject (-K-Sst), and off record speech strategy tended to be used on situation the situation of younger audiences, insensitive subject (-K –Sst). Abstract

Abstract: This research is purposed to explain subsequent concerns. Describe the relationship between student’s critical ability and student’s popular-article writing skill in class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang and describe the relationship between critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on student’s visual learners, auditory learners,  tactual learners at class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang. This correlation research is taken population of students in class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang year of school 2013/2014. Sample collection in 30 students this research is conducted by using proportional random sampling. Research instrumen is objective test to critical reading, working test to popular-article writing skill and questionnaire to learning style. data were analyzed b describe correlation.This research find out the magnitude of relationship between critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill, whether individually or collectively, based on student’s learning style.The result of the research indicated that (1) there is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill at the rate of 0.466; (2) There is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on visual learners at the rate of 0.61; (3) There is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on auditory learners at the rate of 0.633; (4) There is a significant relationship between student’s critical reading ability and popular-article writing skill based on tactual learners at the rate of 0.52. It can be concluded that critical reading ability, as individually or collectively, have a contribution in student’s popular-article writing skill in class XI SMA Negeri 5 Padang. Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to produce a module of Indonesian language learning material with mind mapping in writing paper ability which are valid, practice, and effective to be used by the XI grade students of SMA/MA. This research tends to research and development research by using 4-D model of development. Development activities are started by identification, design, and development. Data of this research belongs to quantitative that is got by assessment of valuator, Indonesian teacher, students, and the result of students in learning Indonesian. Based on the analysis and discussion of data, the writer gives many conclusions. First, validation of module of Indonesian language learning material with mind mapping in writing paper ability at the XI grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Batangtoru tends to very valid with 94,89. Second, practicability of the modul can be said as very practice with 81.71. Third, effectiveness of the module tends to very effective with 86,74 from students and completeness show the result of learning is good category or 76.85 (34 students from 39 students). Therefore, it can be concluded that the module which is developed can be used as learning material in the school, especially for the XI grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Batangtoru in writing paper ability. Abstract

Abstract: This research is aimed at describing the process of inquiry-based module design development on essay editing subject that is valid, practical, and effective in achieving the learning goal for class IX students of SMP Negeri 2 Sirombu Kabupaten Nias Barat. The type of this research is Research and Development/R&D with 4-D research design (define, design, develop, disseminate). This research uses quantitative approach. The data type of this research is quantitative data that consist of three types of data which are data validated by expert, data from practitioner’s assessments, and effectiveness data in form of learning results and student’s activities. Based on the result of the research, it reveals that the module design falls into category valid, practical, and effective. This could be seen in the validity of the module with a score of 90,41 which falls into very valid criteria. The practicality of teacher’s module is very practical with a score of 94,44 and the practicality of student’s module is 91,56 which falls into very practical criteria. The effectiveness of module, which consists of student’s learning results have average result of 81,05 which is qualified as Good (B) and the activities of students got a score of 81,48 with classification very active. Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to explain (a) the difference in narrative essay writing skills of students who are taught using cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw (b) differences in the ability to write narrative essays highly motivated students who are learning with cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw; (c) differences in the ability to write narrative essays low motivated students who are learning to cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw; and (d) the interaction between the use of models in the study of learning and motivation affect the ability of students to write a narrative essay. This study was a quasi-experimental (quasi-experiment) using a 2x2 factorial design. Population of 250 people, the study sample is taken by means of random sampling and obtained class VII / 2 as an experimental class I and class VII / 1 as the experimental class II, each consisting of 30 and 32 students. Data were collected by two instruments, namely motivation questionnaire and performance test writing narrative essays. Analyzing and discussion of the data is done by descriptive-analytical. Based on the results of data analysis, we can conclude the following four things. First, there are no significant differences in narrative essay writing skills of students who are taught using cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw. Secondly, there is no significant difference in the ability to write narrative kararangan highly motivated students who are learning with cooperative learning model CIRC and Jigsaw. Third, there is no significant difference in the ability to write narrative kararangan low motivated students who are learning to cooperative learning model CIRC and Jigsaw. Fourth, there is no interaction between the model of learning with learning motivation in influencing the ability to write narrative essays seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 28 Padang. The use of models and Jigsaw cooperative CIRC can enhance students' ability to write a narrative essay, motivated either high or low. Keywords: narrative essay, CIRC, Jigsaw, motivation

Abstract

Abstract: This research is conducted base on background, that is, moral less of young generation until the generation should have characters. Novel of Ranah Tiga Warna by A. Fuadi describes human who have specific characteristics, such as character of education. The character is shown on speech, behavior, and story of narrator on the novel. This research tends to qualitative approach with content analysis method. The result of this study is five values of education character in the novel of Ranah Tiga Warna by A. Abstract

Abstract: Speech acts have an impact on student motivation and engagement in learning. Teachers use the speech act quite varied. However, speech acts are performed predominantly by the directive speech act. The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the form of directive speech acts teacher, (2) describe the politeness principle used in teacher directive speech act, (3) describe the context of the use of the principle of modesty in speech acts directive teachers, (4) describe the response of students to the directive speech acts on learning Indonesian teacher in Senior High School 15 Padang. The results of this study indicate that teachers perform direc0ive speech acts ordered by using the maxim of wisdom and maxims on the situation said the deal is not sensitive topics and classes in noisy circumstances. Student response consists of a positive response of the student in response to the type of speech act teacher told the maxim of wisdom in the context of the situation said the topic was not sensitive and conducive situation, and negative responses tend to be aimed at the teacher told directive speech acts that use the maxim of wisdom on the situation said topics insensitive and unconducive situation. That teachers perform speech acts sent using wisdom and maxims in the context of the situation said the deal was not a sensitive topic and the noisy atmosphere resulted in a directive speech act that has been done the teacher in the learning becomes mannered as impressed forcing students in learning.   Kata kunci: kesantunan, tindak tutur direktif, pembelajaran, SMA
