Abstract

The aim of this research is to conduct a descriptive study about self-compassion profile of Lampung students based onupon the sequence of tribe and sex in STKIP Muhammadiyah Pringsewu Lampung. This research describes the difference of self-compassion level of students based on the tribe in Lampung, and the level of self-compassion based on gender. Self-compassion is the ability to be compassionate to yourself, entertain themselves and care when self-suffering, failures and imperfections. The results from this study explain that women have a lower level of self-compassion than men. In addition, the cultural factors in the students in Lampung do not have a big impact on self-compassion. This is because the people of Lampung who have open characteristics to mingle with other tribes. Self-compassion is expected to become a multicultural competency of a counselor because someone who has a high self-compassion will have the ability to care about the difficulties of others.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaningfulness of life in a multi-ethnic perspective in the Guidance and Counseling (BK) program, Postgraduate School of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). The scope of this study is the understanding of self, the meaning of life, changing attitudes, self-attachment, directed activities and social support. Data about the meaningfulness of life is obtained by using a questionnaire instrument that has been prepared by the author and disseminated to postgraduate students of BK UPI. The results of this study aims to recognize the student's self potential, so it can be directed to a more positive and become the foundation in personal guidance.

Abstract

The aim of this study resulted in a description of the learning culture of the Rejang ethnic. The scope of the study includes: 1) description of the learning culture of Rejang, 2) description of cultural differences in learning of Rejang tribe by gender, and study program 3) The implications of learning culture on the guidance of academic flow in improving students' curiosity in learning. The method used in this study is cross sectional survey with quantitative approach with stages of spreading the questionnaire to Rejang students in science (IPA) and IPS majors in SMA Negeri 2 Curup, Rejang Lebong regency which amounted to 79 students and then analyzed by using T test. The usefulness of this study is as a basis for developing academic flow guidance strategy in improving student curiosity in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the cultural resilience of adolescent girl in Pesantren (Islamic boarding schools). The scope of this study includes: 1) General overview of culture resilience; and 2) implications on guidance and counseling. The method used in this study is descriptive quantitative with the following steps determine the respondents research, determine the model of the instrument, and distribute the instrument to the respondent. This research is expected to produce a concept of culture based resilience counseling as the basis for thinking in further research.

Abstract

Quality of life is a study of human happiness, strength and life satisfaction for the better life. Quality of life as an important aspect in the development and lives of individuals known to correlate with various factors, but have not revealed many factors related to culture, especially in Indonesia. This study aims to reveal the quality of life on students of Guidance and Counseling Study Programme FKIP Universitas Muhammadiyah Tasikmalaya. The study was conducted on 151 students consisting of 48 men and 113 women. The average age of study participants was 19-21 years old. The instrument used is the Quality-of-Life Inventory. Descriptive statistical data analysis used in this study. Results of the study showed significant difference in the quality of life between students female and male. Quality of life male student higher than female student. Quality of life Sundanese cultural background of students is the higher than Javanese students. Student culture perspective on quality of life related to balance the academic need, organization oriented and personal need.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out the performance culture of teachers guidance and counseling in schools that become aspects of professional competence booster. The scope of this study covers five dimensions of performance culture: Power distance, Uncertainty avoidance, individualism-collectivism, masculinity-femininity, and time orientation. The method used is descriptive analysis. The results of this study are to show low criteria in dimension Power distance, height in the dimension of uncertainty avoidance, is collectivism, femininity and has long-term oriented time.

Abstract

This study aims to produce a description of the values of peace based on the perspectives of Bugis and Makassar ethnic figures. The scope of the study includes the values of peace within the Bugis pappaseng and Makassar's pappasang, as well as other values of peace as the basis of living together. The research method used is qualitative descriptive that describes the peaceful cultural values of the Bugis and Makassar. Data collection in the form of interview and documentation (study of literature). Participants in this study amounted to five figures from the Bugis and Makassar. The results of the study show that Bugis and Makassar have peaceful values as the foundation and guidelines for Bugis and Makassar people to live together in peace. The values of peace of Bugis and Makassar ethnic in the form of values of mutual respect, respect, mutual admonition, mutual respect, affection, loving god, unity, cooperation, and mutual cooperation.
