Abstract

This this study aims to test the effectiveness of group counseling solution focused career counseling to improve career maturity of students SMA Negeri 04 Pamekasan.The research design used was experiment involving 7 students from SMA Negeri 04 Pamekasan chosen by purposive random sampling. The instrument used in this research is Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) Form C. The results showed group counselling solution focused career counseling effectively to improve the maturity of career learners.This study provides clarification of the effectiveness of career maturity of learners with group counseling solution focused career counseling.

Abstract

Public Speaking or the ability to speak in public is one of basic competencies that must be owned by students. However, apparently, there found many students having public speaking anxiety and in high category. Regarding this problem, this study was aimed at examining the effectiveness of a group counselling with desensitization technique and emotional freedom technique in reducing students' public speaking anxiety. The implementation of those techniques were done twice in each group counselling service. Meanwhile, the research method employed was mixed anova repeated measures test design by involving 16 students having high level public anxiety chosen from 100 students by using purposive sampling. Further, the results of mixed anova repeated measure showed thatthe group counselling with systematic desensitization technique and emotional freedom technique (EFT) was proved to be effective in reducing the public speaking anxiety of students. Besides, seen from the average score and time effect, emotional freedom technique resulted higher decrease than systematic desensitization technique. For more, the more emotional freedom technique was given, the higher decrease of the public speaking anxiety of students would result.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling with self-talk and combination of self talk & reframing techniques to reduce aggressiveness in students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Semarang. The research method used was experiment with randomized pretest-posttest comparison group design involving 14 subjects selected purposively from the total population of 117 students. The main instrument used is the Agression Questionnaire with the number of 29 items valid (rxy = 0.303 – 0.687) and reliability of 0.870. The treatment was given for 5 sessions for self talk and 5 sessions for self talk & reframing combination with 2x40 minute duration. Data analysis using wilcoxon and wallist cruciate test. The results showed the technique of reframing and self-talk effective to reduce aggressiveness of students of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Semarang. Judging from the difference in effectiveness levels, self talk and self talk & reframing techniques show the same level of effectiveness. This study provides clarification of handling aggressiveness problem with self talk technique and combination of self talk & reframing technique.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the impact of attribution retraining group counseling technique on student’s learned helplessness. One-group pretest-posttest design was used in this study involving a total of 5 students as participants. The results of paired t-test showed that the student learned helplessness level can decreased at posttest (39.58%) than at assesment pre test (68.33%; t = 7.14, p < 0.01). Further, this study was focused to discuss the possibility of implementing attribution retraining in overcoming the problem of student’s learned helplessness behavior.

Abstract

The purpose of this studywas to know the effectiveness of group guidance with film media to improve students' empathy and social interaction. Meanwhile, the research design used in this studywas experimental method with one group pretest-posttest design. Moreover, the subjects of the study were 10 students with the criteria of having empathy and social interaction that were classified as low or fair. In addition, the hypothesis testing used by the researchers in this studycame from Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference of students'empathy between pretest and posttest where empathy at posttest was higher than pretest which meant that the implementation of group guidance with film media could improve students' empathy (Z = -2.803; p < 0.01). Also, there found a significant difference of students' social interaction between pretest and posttest where posttest social interaction was higher than pretest which meant that the implementation of group guidance with film media can improve students' social interaction (Z = -2.807; p < 0.01). In conclusion, this study confirms that group guidance with film media is effective to improve students' empathy and social interaction.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to enhance students’ emotional maturity through experiential learning group counseling service. The experiment research method of pre-test post-test control group design was used with involving 16 students as experimental group (N = 8) and control (N = 8). The result of data analysis by using Wilcoxon test and Mann-Whitney test showed that group counseling based on experiential learning was effective to improve students’ emotional maturity. Discussion of the results of this research is directed to identify the implications of the application of group counseling based on experiential learning in improving students’ emotional maturity.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were (1) to describe and analyze non computer-assisted assessment (2) to produce a hypothetical model of computer-assisted non-test assays to improve the professional competence of School counselors and (3) to know the effectiveness of non computer-assisted assessment to improve the professional competence of School counselors. This research uses the Research and Development (R & D) method to develop computer-assisted non-test assays to improve the professional competence of school counselors. Assessment of non computer-assisted tests proved to be effective in improving the professional competence of school counselors especially on the aspects of mastering aspects and practical assessment to understand the condition, needs, and problems of learners. Discussion of the findings of this study focused on the application of non-test assessments in Junior High School Sukoharjo District.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of career information to improve the entrepreneurial attitudes of the students of Muhammadiyah Vocational High School Bulakamba (SMK Muhammadiyah Bulakamba). The experimental research method by using Post-test – Only Control Design was employed and involved as many as 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class as the research subjects. For more, the calculation results of t-test showed that the entrepreneurial attitude of the group which received career aspiration-based career information was higher than the group which got no career information on the students of SMK Muhammadiyah Bulakamba (tvalue= 3.847, p < 0.01). In conclusion, this study asserts the role of Guidance and Counselling in developing school entrepreneurship.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of systematic desensitization and thought-stoppingcounseling groups to reduce students' social anxiety. Randomized Pretest-Postest Comparison Group Design was applied to students as many as 24 students in SMA N 12 Semarang. The instruments used were theSocial Anxiety Scale For Adolescents. Data analysis techniques were used using Paired sample t-test and one-way ANOVA test. The results showed that group counseling techniques were systematic desensitization and thought-stopping effective to reduce students' social anxiety. The findings of this study prove the effectiveness of group counseling with systematic desensitization techniques and thought stopping techniques in students in the city of Semarang Indonesia.

Abstract

This research was designed to examine the relationship between Problem Solving Skills (PSS), Emotional Regulation (ER) and Problematic Internet Use (PIU) among junior high school students. As many as 137 students from SMPN 10 Surabaya in the even semester of academic year 2017/2018 were chosen as participants by using quota sampling method.  Data was captured using Problem Solving Inventory (PSI), Emotion Regulation Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents (ERQ-CA) and Generalized Problematic Internet Use 2 (GPIUS2). Data that has been collected then analyzed using computer program SPSS version 24.00. The statistical results show that there are low but definite negative relationship between PSS and ER on PIU (β = -0.18 and β = -0.21, p < 0.05, respectively). PSS and ER overall explained the 10% variance of PIU.  Based on the results, it can be concluded that the higher level of PIU, the lower level of PSS and ER that students have. Thus further, the current research finding will be discussed later.
